Score from 6 reviews Excellent
Beautiful garden, maples from your room windows, public bath with hot sauna, very delicious food
Delayed serving of dinner, it took almost 3 hours for small portion of 6 courses.
beautiful garden and river view is for every guest and excellent dining services
faucet in the room causes wet and smell
Excellent food Very friendly and helpful staff
Entering through the ancient wooden gateway into a mystical Japanese garden of amazing sights, sounds and scents will knock your socks off. The inn transports you into another world. Amazing staff, food, attention to detail, plus the view and the noise from the river less than 2 meters from the window of our room. It is not part of the modern world at all - and hooray for this!
Wifi was poor - but really - a short walk to the Family Mart across the road and you can log on there.
The staff completed their task with magnificence. The setting was beautiful.
Externally the accommodation looks beautiful and has a great degree of charm. It's been in the same family for 21 generations and the rooms have the feel of how I guess old Japan would be. Staff friendly as expected and traditional evening meal good, though not the best.
It is the wrong side of the charm / tired line. There are none of the quality items that the price would command. The chipped woodwork, plastic chairs, scratchy towels and the smell of drains are well below standard......... Not appealing at any price. The onsen was held together with silicon and though glorious from the outside, it just failed to deliver. The owners need to return 6 months revenue into equipping the accommodation with the quality touches that would make this into a world class experience. My wife was very angry that one of our highlight accommodations turned out to be the worst and in a poor location.
