Free beer! Great selection of free food. Awesome pool. Volleyball in the pool. Attentive staff. Room smelled musty at first. Accosted by people on the beach looking to make money--not the hotel's fault, but a drawback to this location.

Very friendly staff especially the manager in charge of catering Room service. No shower curtain, salty water en the bed is position directly infront of the tv obstructing the view. Such a hotel should atleast have a sauna.

This is a mid range resort with excellent food. The food meets any 5 star hotel quality. Drinks proposed in the all inclusive package are o.k. Large, clean two swimming pools. Beach towels service. The wooden sunbeds have plastic cushions. The rooms have multi channel television and are a fair size. Everything is working. Nice view of the ocean from the balcony. The hotel is a little tired and in need of updating, but it is clean. Fresh sheets and towels on a daily basis. Very friendly and helpful staff makes the stay very pleasant. Entertainment every night at the hotel is good. For the price it is an excellent value for money. For a 3 star it‘s such a great hotel. All in all it‘s a clean, friendly and safe place to stay! Salt water from the tap.

This is a great place for travellers to spot the Big Five: the big German, the white Englishman, the happy Dutch, the boozy Russian and (more rarely, sightings not guaranteed on every visit) the blonde Scandinavian. With a booking.com bargain, this is the cheapest all- inclusive safari you can find. But beware, just like in any safari the dangers abound once you stray from the guarded area. On the not-so-spectacular beach, watch out for the pervasive beach-boy-bug. These creatures, though oftentimes amenable and friendly, can be hard to brush off when they find the scent of ksh. The female version of the species (distinctly unattractive) is more rare but often appear at night. You can even hear their well-known sounds from inside the hotel grounds: 'daddy, please come here for a minute'...

I liked the proximity to the beach, the hotel is at the beach so this is great all you do is go to the poolside and exit to access the beach. The free breakfast was great since I did not have a full-board, all inclusive package [ I am a vegetarian and I enjoyed a wide a variety of warm & cold foods as well as fruits & breads for breakfast]. The children's center was nice when my son wanted to do something with other children [although most of the planned activities for children never happened with the exception of beading]. The kiddie pool was nice and it is monitored by the children's center staff. Security was fine and each night there were "cultural" performers. You can hire a taxi without any problem as the taxi stand is right outside of the hotel. The hotel staff can arrange a taxi or you can get one for yourself. A trip to the nearest mall is about 1,200 kenyan shillings round trip. No real problem at all with mosquitos but nets are available upon request. You can exchange cash and traveler's cheques at the hotel. A barclays bank is within walking distance with ATM's. It is also near other hotels and beach front restaurant/bars so you can go next door to Yul's or Il Covo [great food!] for lunch/dinner and I believe they are night clubs as well. Food is mostly Italian at these restaurants. If I could do things over I would have arranged for a full board package because it can be cheaper than purchasing meals from hotels and bars, especially if you have a family or are more than 2 travelers. There are a few pools so if you don't like a crowd then you can just move to the quieter pool side. So many water-based activities available just outside of the hotel at the beach entrance. Also other activities at nearby parks. I had a great time! Wi-fi is not free!!! You must pay for 15, 30 and 60 minute increments. Also Wi-fi access is not strong and you have to use it near the reception desk/ lobby area for uninterrupted access because it will drop mid-session. You will experience problems using it in your room and the hotel is constructed of concrete. I had several problems with wi-fi but the staff accommodated me to rectify it. CLEANLINESS/ROOM CONDITION: Rooms could be cleaner but not bad...The service trays containing coffee/tea were dirty and in fact the plastic utensils that were left for use were either dirty or had been used before. I kept throwing the dirty utensils out and they kept replacing them with dirty utensils. Bathroom counters and above the toilet was not the cleanest and needed wiping down. [Bring wipes] The mattress that I slept on had holes in it at the corners due to wear I assume but this is a cause for concern regarding bed-bugs they need to make sure the mattresses are maintained. Other than that it was not a problem. I think that the shower was clogged and drainage was poor. The water was SCOLDING HOT! Sometimes there was no cold water at all and the water was scolding hot to the point where you could not shower or turn off the water once the tap was opened. Sometimes you could not control the hot water and sometimes you could but at least you know the water is hot. Mombasa hotels all use saltwater and this is not a problem for me but be warned that the tap water is salt water and you will shower in salt water. The hotel provides a thermos with fresh water in it. Other than that you have to buy fresh water [this may be the case for me as I did not have a full board package] At night sometimes room service is not responsive. If you ask for something they may or may not come to deliver it. However if you order food or ask for anything else while the kitchen is open they are as prompt as possible.

Family Hotel on the Beach nice and quiet when I was there but this was of season. Buffet Style Meals when you arrived in the later part of the meal time your selection of food was limited as food was not replenished. Anymation and music was finshed at 11pm every night even weekends.

The staff in the restaurant and front desk were very friendly and helpful. An added bonus that we had not expected was the inclusion of "half board" - instead of just breakfast as an inclusion it also included dinner at night. This was especially helpful as there were not all that many restaurants close by As soon as you step on to the beach you are besieged by hawkers wanting to sell you anything from camel rides to carvings to safaris to.... The rooms are becoming a bit aged and it was a bit of a shock to discover that bore water is used - very difficult to get up a good soap or shampoo lather
