Mombasa is HOT, and I love hot weather so it was fine for me. It is very peaceful, laid back place, and the people were very friendly. A simple NO to a street vendor was fine. We went to Nyali public beach, very nice.

Mombasa, a Kenyan metropolis, ensconced on the cusp of the Indian Ocean, proffered an experience both exhilarating and immersive. The city's historical tapestry, woven with threads of Portuguese, Arab, and British influences, manifested in its magnificent architecture, from the imposing Fort Jesus to the labyrinthine alleys of the Old Town.
My peregrinations led me through bustling marketplaces, where cacophonous haggling painted a vivid picture of the city's commercial heart. The vibrant hues of spices, the aromatic allure of freshly brewed Kenyan coffee, and the captivating calls of vendors all coalesced into an intoxicating sensory experience.
Beyond the urban hum, the pristine beaches beckoned, their silken sands fringed by turquoise waters. Indulging in the aquatic embrace of the Indian Ocean, I found solace in the rhythmic caress of the waves and the mesmerizing spectacle of the sun dipping below the horizon, casting an incandescent ember across the sky.
Mombasa's culinary scene tantalized my taste buds with an explosion of flavors. From the delicate nuances of Swahili cuisine to the fiery depths of Ethiopian stews, each meal was a revelation, a testament to the city's rich cultural heritage.
Departing Mombasa, I carried with me an indelible mosaic of memories – a kaleidoscope of sights, sounds, and flavors that forever etched this captivating coastal haven in my mind's eye.

Beautiful beaches, friendly people, great local food & the fruit is amazing We were away from CBD ( whose heavy traffic hours are crazy!), and enjoyed the slower pace nearer the beach areas. It's quite easy to get around Mombasa & to cross from the North to the South Coast areas & vice versa using the now very reliable ferry system. The little tuk tuk vehicles tend to be popular but fast paced drivers find them to be a nuisance

Swimming in the pool proved a good way to enjoy the vacation with the children. We also visited Haller Park and the tour guide was very good and helpful. We also visited the Fort Jesus. Time spent at Shanzu beach was great. We enjoyed public transport though the shops were a bit far.

The weather was perfect from the moment we landed, though hot for the kids because they are not used to that kind of weather.
The town was chilled loved the people and were welcoming and warm.
Visited the beach which was perfect with white sandy beaches, boat rides to the marina, feeding the fish and snorkeling.
Haller parks was great for the kids and the feeding time for the giraffe and the crocodiles, they loved it.
Dinner by the beach was amazing but too windy for the kids.
Amazing place to visit, for business, work or vacation with welcoming people and beautiful views.

The resort was all inclusive.
The resort was all inclusive. We came to rest and relax and did not wish to leave the property. The food was great, the view perfect, accommodations and room steward excellent and there was nightly entertainment. The resort had a gorgeous pool. Daily activities were offered. We would return to Severin Sea Lodge.
The staff are wonderful, from the Front Office Manager Jerry, to the amazing Chef Yusuf, restaurant staff such as the ever smiling and friendly Caren and Alice, to the animation team, not forgetting the poolside team like Nabii.
The location is excellent with great beach frontage which is greatly supplemented by a natural cave where one can book to have dinner, and a pavilion bar set atop a coral outcrop with great views of the indian ocean and distant ships going to dock at the Mombasa port.
Overall its great value for money.
The room was nice, spacious, and had AC with a view of the pool and the lake outside. I liked the traditional design and atmosphere of the hotel in general. The hotel was only about a 10-15 min ride to Nyali beach and even closer to fort Mombasa so all and all a good location for sight seeing as well. I really liked the views from the balcony and the pool. I enjoyed how friendly and accommodating the staff were, they even helped us with getting transportation to our next accommodation in Diani beach.
This Hotel is a bit of an anomaly , The Hotel is situated in beautiful well kept grounds, clean swimming pools, fabulous sandy beach, excellent food, wholesome and flavoursome, don't listen to anyone who says otherwise and some really nice staff, there is one of the best equipped Hotel gyms I've seen in my travels, why they would allow the equipment in an expensive facility like this to rust extensively is somewhat odd to say the least, all equipment is in good working order though.
Finally found a gem!! Top floor, the constant fresh breeze was refreshing. Way above expectations, secure, modern and lush. Location was perfect! close to mombasa cdb and nyali.
Was to check-in during the early morning and the keys we're conveniently left at the gate. The host went way above and beyond to ensure I had a enjoyable stay. As well as the caretaker who was very helpful.
The location is good - close to the main road and in the walking distance (15 min) to the beach. The studio is quite spacious with a very comfortable bed. There's a nice small hotel almost next door with a nice bar/restaurant (discounts included) and access to small swimming pool to relax.
In general, perfect value for money. And the host, Meggie, was very helpful as well.
When you are torn between activity on the Island of Mombasa & the Pleasures that the Mainland Nyali can provide, this is the best hotel to stay at. It’s a massive complex, yet you get your custom feel around your chosen hotel suite. I liked the color pallet in the rooms – very impressive, Very Private, Good Views of the creek, great staff who have me a massive late checkout!
Joly apartments are in a very convenient location for bussiness people working in town or tourists interested in visiting majour tourists centres in the town of Mombasa. It is very near the Nyali beach . one can walk to beach and swim as much as they want .
Lovely place in the heart of Nyali. It’s in close proximity to the beach, city mall and nice restaurants. Tuktuks and bodabodas are available in case one wants to visit the city of Mombasa. The owner is very friendly and helpful. He has a lot of tips.
I liked the staff😁 Mostly Emily, she was kind, ready to help, and caring. The breakfast was good. The location is good, in town and accessible. Can’t forget to mention the AC, no need to worry about the heat in Mombasa and a fridge in every room
The nice staff, the way the facility looks! The good room! Best place to go, definitely recommending this to all my friends! Definitely recommend the spa massage and facilities! We had the on Suite with a beach front view hotel
Everything! super clean, comfortable, friendly staff, excellent breakfast, convenient location for old town and all at the most reasonable price you will find in Kenya. Thank you for making my short stay in Mombasa so pleasant!
Close proximity to town center
Very friendly attendant
Washroom was great, plenty of water, good sink and generally clean room
AC available in the room was a plus, given the high temperatures in Mombasa
We had wonderful days. My family enjoyed the accommodations. The hotel is close to the beach and shopping center. I really enjoyed the accommodations and will book again during my next visit to Mombasa.
The hotel is located near some clubs which makes it really noisy. The pool was extremely dirty and the rooms quite basic. The wifi was, in general, very poor. The best was the staff.
The place was super amazing, the staff Enock was the best, the pool is super clean, very close to the beach, nearest to the supermarket, and everything was just on top. We loved it.
Breakfast was good. My room overlooked the beach and the view was beautiful. I also liked that you can go down to the beach from the hotel. It was a good hotel really.
The location and the view outside of the window!!! I woke up to see Nyali beach. soo Gorgeous! There are plenty of tuk-tuks outside to visit the Nyali centre.
