Hilton standard should be the same overall the Countries. I was shocked when I arrived at the hotel when I saw the reception, lobby, room and the quality of the staff are very poor. i checked out the second day.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Restaurant and Jockey Bar was great, with good food and drink.
Did not know about "items" included in the booking as made on this site - "Breakfast Included" and "$50 In-House Credit". Took the reception staff by surprise and took quite some convincing from my side. At the end gave up and wrote off the EXTRA money paid above the normal room rate for it. They sorted the $50 credit out very quickly and I was informed after I checked out that the breakfast was included. Very inconvenient. Believe it is an interface issue between them and Booking.com.
The staff and people and people in general are very friendly and helpful at the hotel. After my successive complaints over my 3 day stay I was given a free upgrade for my last night to a working suite.
The safe didn't work, had to get it fixed. The Toilet wouldnt flush, the tel would not work, the ironing board was broken. It is an old old property.
Staff hospitality Food quality
Turn off AC from 3:00 AM to 6:00 AM Rooms are not isolated Room size
the location is excellent. everything is within walking distance. Going to KICC fo exihibition is really easy. Nice breakfast, and hotel decos. But it is kinda expensive for the cost, maybe it is because of exhibition period.
the staff in the reception is stubborn. My friends has booked 3 nights for me and prepaid 1 night so that i can get early check in by arrival. But the receiption lady insisted to request me to pay another 3 night full pay once check in, saying that the prepaid is for the previous day. I had no choice to do accordingly. While my friend emailed the maneger Grace and got her confirmation to proceed as what we thought it should be. So, I got the one night amount refund back in the end.
1. Manager on duty's friendly and professional reaction to claims and immediate remedy where possible. Nice complimentary gesture as an apology. 2. very good meals.
1. Paid internet in rooms and a code to free wi-fi access in public areas changing every 8 hours! 2. Noisy maintenance works (lengthy drilling) just outside the room.
Just the position during the Exhibition in KICC
Old Building , Old Room /Bathroom ,no maintenance since long time ..Dirty and old ..
Location is good.
The internet system is backward and irritating. Plus charging is a cheek, as other hotels give this free. Made me angery, as I had to go to the lobby to correct the problems. Not business friendly!!
The staff we're all great, friendly, helpful and with good skills.
Having to pay for internet access is ridiculous in an international hotel. It's like paying for air.. I won't stays again because of this, I have spoken to other business friends who hold the same view
Room was clean although not well lit.
We asked for someone to fix a burnt out light and it never happened. Although the cost of the room was expensive there was no free wifi in the room. To have wit, you had to go to the lobby or pay an additional $130 for an executive suite. Restaurant and coffee shop about twice as much as you would pay outside the hotel. I travel to Nairobi often and will not return to Hilton.
The security of the hotel That JT (Excellent Safari company, based in Diani Beach) picked us up straight at the door. As we were only there one night and only arrived at 11pm we did not get to experience the hotel in full. THe airport pick up services was 1st class
My Mum, Dad and Brother all shared a room. Is was no where near as nice as mine and my boyfriends. One bed was a camp bed and for my 6ft brother not very suitable
the staff was very friendly.
I was not allotted a smoking room. I was told that i'd be able to move into another room the following day. that didnt happen either, coz they had no vacancy in smoking rooms. I had to walk out of the building to smoke or go to the 2nd floor near the pool at the designated smoking area. which was not something i was enjoying. at the checkout they offered me an upgrade on my next visit. Im not happy with that offer.
The location is excellent. Staff is ok but could be more helpful. Breakfast was good.
The facilities need a facelift to live up to the name. The furnishing in the room is old and of poor quality. The towels look really bad for that class of hotel. Add bath robes, slippers, etc for your customers' convenience.
Renovation while the hotel opened for guest , it was renovation of elevator
Rooms were very poor. After pre-payment additional 28% had to be paid
I loved the whole ambiance of the hotel. In a good position with attentive and polite staff who want to help.
Wifi to be included in the price of the room.
Floors and floors of tired old built in 1975 rooms with fixtures rusting and hanging off the walls in bathroom, just by putting a newish bed in a room these guys think they have refurbed it. Charge for wifi?....at those prices!! Complaint led to upgrade but it was just a bigger version of the rubbish I had. I booked Hilton for a safe standard expectation in a country unvisited previously but I may as well have crashed in a bus shelter for the night.... At least I wouldn't have had any expectations and maybe I wouldn't have been robbed of as much money as these guys did....and when booking online beware of the dozen surcharges.... A £70 room soon becomes £95.....other than that you can't fault it!!
A/C too bad
Like being in a safe place
The noise and where my room was it was very noisy all night due to traffic and the windows wasn't sound proof enough to enjoy a good night sleep
Qualified and super friendly. Security was Top and we felt safe.
Exchange rate, though not a Big deal.
Although the payment was supposed to be paid at the site; all of it was withdrawn from the credit card which was given as a warranty.
The Arriving Celebration in the middle of the night was very professional. The staff at the reception did a very good Job.
Top notch hospitality
The politeness of the day time staff and the check in experience was great
The aggressive nature of staff on the night shift was unlike any Hilton hotel I have visited previously. Customers were being made to pay with cash instead of either being informed to add the charge to their room bill or staff explaining the option to bring a POS terminal to collect the payment. My experience did not make this hotel feel like a Hilton.
I liked that I was able to organize meetings in-house with partners coming from all over town, rather than having to make the rounds myself ...
The need for earlier than normal check out to beat the traffic on way to airport
