Kenya Bay Beach Hotel  

The location, the lady on duty in the evening was very friendly, very professional and very receptive. Was able to get taxi services very promtly. Room service was very fast.

Place seemed deserted; was disappointed that I didnt have a direct view of the sea; requested assistance to carry my luggage from the room to reception on checking out and no assistance was provided-yet I found availa ble staff standing and chatting at reception. No receipts were provided for room service and iron charge.It was difficult to know whether you were paying for the service or giving a tip.

The staff is good and helpful. The hotel is very attractive due to its beach side location

The staff and the management was so poor and rude actually i checked out after 2 days. Have stayed at many hotels in the area and in Africa but this is the worst i have ever stayed at.

- good restaurant nearby; - nice massage salons at the beach.

- staff can come into your room even do not knocking! - at the beach a lot of salers, so you cann't relax! - on breakfast (a buffet style) you need to reserve a table before!!! or you cann't sit where you want!

- Problems with missing/lost booking reservation for our nephew - we both had to change our rooms from week one to two of our stay despite noticing the management and their promises to let us do that - wasted a lot of time to solve small problems - had to resort to top manager to resolve problems - slow and absent for few days internet connection (during Christmas!) - stupid table reservation system where almost all tables are reserved and empty and you cannot use them - not enough beach towels - dirty beach - too many beach vendors

Rooms not ready upon arrival, no tea or coffee in room, expensive transfer from airport and air conditioner only one setting, full on all the time made our night very uncomfortable. I would not recommend this hotel!

Location and seaside location was great. Hotel staff were helpful and friendly and management fair.

Other hotel guests were rude and unfriendly. I had problems with air conditioning unit in first room and it could not be repaired and I had to move. They then moved me into a second room with a malfunctioning air conditioning unit again and I had to move for a second time. Finally the third room was a good one, but I was most unpleased with having to move twice during my stay.

The location is excellent and staff is very friendly, good seafood, nice pool.

The housekeeping has to improve, a/c not working, no remote control for tv but they upgraded my room after I advised of the defficiencies.

i did not think the hotel reception handled the fact we got mugged very well. they should have called the police. the security guards, however, were excellent in terms of handling the situation.

My room was very comfortable and the poolside and beach access was very accommodating. Booking through the internet was very easy, and when I made schedule changes the flexibility of the booking and hotel were very helpful.

My shower in the evening after I arrived was only slightly warm, I was desiring a hot shower at that time. Check out at 10:00 am was earlier than I wanted to leave, and the desk clerk said there was no flexibility for a later check out. These are the only negative comments that I would make, and I view them as very minimal concerns.

Its a rip off finacially. Is dirty and poorly maintained. Staff badly trained. Food disgusting (one of has food poisoning and needed medical treatment). The noise from next door club is unacceptable and goes on until 4.30 am daily. They would be arrested in Europe.

It's actually a very nice hotel, with nice facilities and staff. Until you dare to utter a complaint.

It is located next to a very noisy club, Il Covo. The first two nights the noise levels were bearable, but the third night was out of control, as they had put large speakers on the beach. When I went to the reception to see if anything could be done, the receptionist got annoyed and said the manager's asleep (unlike me and my wife) and we'd have to deal with it in the morning. Next morning the manager blamed me for not having brought this to her attention earlier and lied that no-one had complained about the noise before (I had actually talked to some other guests who had too). Nice hotel, unhelpful staff. It's a pity.

We liked the location, however the food was not up to the mark. Also it would have been better had they to provide bottled water on a daily basis in the room and include the same in the cost.

There were very accommodating and very hospitable. We stayed at the cheapest place that looked decent to us and we were pleasantly surprised with Kenya Bay. For the price, we were thrilled with the service, cleanliness, location, and food! I couldn't have been happier.

We had a great time! It is ideally located and has the best beach that we have ever seen. The breeze is exceptional and very relaxing. We were two families and it was worth every penny. The food selection was good and the staff were friendly and co operative. This was definitely one of the best short vacations we have had and have made up our minds to definitely come back asap!!!!!

The hotel needs to be renovated. It tends to look like an abandoned property. Dust inside the rooms. Old and bad smelling fridges. The food is not good had to eat outside. Very old serve wares. To my understanding the hotel needs a new management.
