This is a dream hotel. Brilliantly designed by the owner Aldo (who is also an architect), and with only 8 rooms, it feels more like being a privileged guest in someone's private house. The rooms are spacious and elegant, with beautiful antique furnishings and some exquisite examples of African art and carvings adorning the walls. The site is spectacular, right on the Indian Ocean, but with every modern amenity you could want. And dotted around the gardens are deliciously relaxing large double hammocks, one of which overlooks the fabulous pool. Aldo and Sylvia are wonderfully warm and hospitable hosts. And as for the food - what a treat to have home-made Italian cuisine of the highest order, all the ingredients fresh and locally sourced. There is no a la carte menu, but each meal is carefully balanced and truly delicious. They even make their own pasta! Sylvia oversees the expert kitchen staff with an eagle eye. They are also very good at recommending other restaurants in the village (which is 5 mins drive away) although the food there was so good we didn't bother, and also any trips to be made in the neighbourhood, which they will help fix up, usually using their own vehicle and driver. We went to Mida Creek, and the Gedi Ruins and snorkeling of Watamu Bay. All in all a wonderful, idyllic place - ideal for a chill-out holiday. I couldn't recommend it highly enough.

The owners are amazing - incredibly hospitable. They designed and built the boutique hotel themselves - it is absolutely breathtaking. The food was gourmet. The service first class. We couldn't have been happier. This may have been my favorite vacation ever - and I've vacationed all over the world. Thank you Aldo and Sylvia!
