Comfy beds Close to Airport Good breakfast Good view from the bar
Terrible and slow service: at lunch we waited 40 minutes for a pizza, had to ask several times for our bill. At dinner food was generally slow to arrive and staff were not at all attentive. The "heated" swimming pool was too cold to swim in. There is a charge to use the sauna/steam room of KES 1500. Staff are friendly but clearly management and direction need improving.
Usd 35.00 for breakfast is rediculous. Way to expensive.
Lovely food, beautiful interior and safe and secure. Efficient and effective security outside and inside the hotel. Felt very safe. And on the Nairobi national park.
The back outlook towards new road being built.
Friendly staff. Clean and beautiful rooms. Gorgeous exteriors and interiors throughout the hotel. Breathtaking view over the National Park. It's a good base if you would like to visit the giraffe centre and elephant sanctuary. Good choice of food for everyone, loads of vegetarian options. They were also very nice with the kids.
Food was quite good.
Way overpriced for the level and quality of services provided.
Noisy rooms. The whole night you can hear doors opening and closing and people walking outside the rooms.
Location near the airport. Did everything you expect of a hotel in that price range
Long wait to check in and a terrible wifi, I think over rated can pass of as a 4 star property only.
Location: - Very close to airport, don't have to fight traffic into city. - next door to game reserve, try to spot ostrich and giraffe while you have a beer.
Wifi/internet can be intermittent, sometimes OK, other times poor.
Location View of national park Cleanliness
Check in took 30min Service in the restaurant was very very slow Air condition was not working properly
Fitness club World soccer championship viewing at outdoor pool Flexibility with early breakfast at 05.30
Staff in restaurant not well organized Reception under construction
Location and service plus whole experience was very good. Loved staying there and some of the staff were excellent in service and putting right a problem.
Cost more than the price I booked for and initially the room did not have a balcony even though I requested one. The staff were very good in putting that right though. One of the waitresses gave us something close to what we wanted but not what we wanted and said nothing until we queried it - they had run out.
Location Style and atmosphere
Rooms misses the same elegance the hotel public areas have.
No bus shuttle was waiting for us, secure staff was bothering us..
the band is old and so is the music give opportunity to young groups they will bring new customers they will attract other young people too
Did not have breakfast
No local dishes on menu Went on two "excursions" which were both excellent but they seemed to be a little expensive
The Hotel is only a 10 min drive from the airport and an ideal solution to avoid city traffic while on a short stay in Nairobi only (we were in transit for one night). Compared to other hotels we stayed in Nairobi, we found this one most comfortable and relaxing. There are a few restaurants, Wi-Fi, shuttle to the airport, polite and professional staff, rooms may be small but comfortable enough, AC in the rooms (unlike in some other hotels we stayed at). So all in all, we were happy and will be back.
Nothing that I can think of.
The atmosphere & staff were relaxed & friendly & the restaurant was very good & reasonably priced.
The room was a little bit cramped
Excellent ambiance around restraunts Friendly Staff Great Sauna
Was accodmodated on end room near generator, which was very disturbing Lot of maintenance work very disturbing
My experience in Ole-Sereni Hotel was excellent, mainly due to the location which is adjacent the Nairobi National Park, were you can see animals. It proximity to the international airport and other important areas. The staff are efficient and reliable, especially the Cleaners, by the name of Tony. I left my valuables in the room, forgetting to lock them up and I went to town, surprisingly, on my return, my jewelleries were there waiting for me. I was very impressed. Another excellent surprise is that I had my hair done in the salon at the basement, by Kenneth, who in a professional manner gave me a good head massage while washing my hair. Jennifer at the Spa is another efficient worker who has a pleasant cliental approach. The buffet breakfast and lunch have variety of foods that are delicious. The rooms are well kept.
Apart from paying $220 for a night stay, which I thought includes breakfast, I was bewildered to learn that I have to pay another $35 in addition to this amount for breakfast.
The interior decorating, comfort of the bed and the bar patio overlooking the park. Also, the hotel is conveniently located close to the international airport.
It is a bit expensive.
I loved the restaurant overlooking the plains. The rooms were clean and quaint. They were well maintained for the two days I was there. The distance to & from JKIA was a factor for my selecting the hotel as I avoid the traffic. The travel service to airport was good with a comfortable and well maintained vehicle & polite chauffeur.
The reception staff did not have my booking. Thankfully I had printed it. They also did not know whether I had paid for bed or bed & breakfast. Being a frequent traveller in Kenya and abroad, I found the reception staff very wanting especially for this level of hotel. Based on previous comments, I believe some customer service training is needful for this group of staff. The internet was non existent.
location, understated decor, not too much 'safari in your face'
breakfast an additional charge on a premium rack rate! No public bar - loud & intrusive conference drinkers (non residents) destroying pool area ambience.
Woke up to a fantastic view over the National Park . Staff very helpful and let us entertain other friends after check out and let them store their luggage until the evening when they had not stayed there
