Beautiful location. Excellent evenings outside at the bar and restaurant
Great location for a quick stop in Nairobi. Very close to the airport so you can forget about the crazy traffic of the city.
Wifi was not stable.
i had so many problem... reseption was very bad... they took garanty from my credit cart when i go out they cant find out my slip...
check in takes way to long
expensive room with balcony overlooking the park. Lovely view
room service menu
Location Pick up service All services
Staff was really professional, helpful and friendly. Hotel design is very attractive. Enough space for sitting outside. Breakfast was excellent.
I managed to get a very good deal. Don't know if I would stay here for the full price.
The room was beautiful and so was the rest of the hotel! The staff was very helpful (front desk and transfers), except for a surly waiter in the restaurant.
Stay is okay when in transit
The hotel has a dark/grey interior and the former office floor could have been replaced with something less 70's
Location close to airport Rooms overlooking National Park Quiet
Expensive for what it is City view rooms overlook dusty roads and building work Service in the bar was a little slow We got out in the wrong room to begin with (this is the second time that has happened to me here)
nice room and bed, when i got food poisoning they took me to the chemist
restaurant was was pretty goood, but no great for the price, i think i got sick from it too. my room was extremely loud, i heard drumming all night. When i checked in the receptionist was very rude, made me email my booking to him, and chastised me for using this site and not getting breakfast.
The staff are most welcoming and very professional at all times. I would recommend this hotel to all that do not need to be in the central city area. For those waiting for connecting flights I would think this a very good option too.
No negative points at all. Hope to visit you all again soon.
The bar had lovely views and the gym was well equipped
The room given, for the price, was tiny! we expected to stay in and relax in a nice room, but this room was so small we did not want to stay in. The bathroom was also incredibly small. If the rate was cheaper, we would have expected it but to pay over £150 I expected a little more for my money. Also, a taxi should cost $20 to the airport, yet the hotel were charging $35, we called our previous tour company and booked one with them instead.
Location and breakfast
Poor wi fi signal
Staff were amazing; oohing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to ensure we were happy! The beds are super comfy and although rooms are not overly large you don't need them to be - you have a huge national park to sit at the pool, bar, sun decks etc to gaze at. The food was exceptional and fresh. A fantastic place to rest after a long flight and prepare for Safari or just relax and enjoy your fist Giraffes! Thanks for a great stay!
The shower we had flooded the room but in no time at all we were upgraded to a suite and the manager apologised profusely - excellent service!
Location near to airport was good, bed was comfortable and place was clean. The outside pool, though small, had a nice setting.
Asked when restaurant closed, was told open 24 hours, but not told that menu reduced massively to a handful of dishes at 11pm. Turned up at 10.50pm and was offered reduced menu. Turned up so late to restaurant as I had to wait 45mins for iron/ironing board as none in room. Eventually given full menu to cjhoose from, but food was not good (had dinner and lunch there). When checking out asked if taxi was available. I was told one was downstarirs, but when I got there I was told I had to go back upstairs to pay for taxi in advance (at very inflated price of $35 for short journey to airport). General confusion amongst staff. Annoying, pointless "security" check at entrance. Insisted on checking boot and under bonnet of car but didn't check inside car so totally pointless check. Any one wanting to attack hotel would have spotted this straight away. Generally not a very well managed or run hotel it seemed to me. I stayed at the Sankara in town three days earlier and foud it much better.
Very good location and very nice setting by the national park. You almost believe that you are not in the middle of Nairobi! Beautiful building!
The staff could have been more attentive, e.g. helped with carrying luggage from the entrance to the reception or at least offered their service of doing so (reception is somewhat far from the entrance).
The location is excellent, only 15 minutes from the Nairobi airport. Other Nairobi hotels are often 2 hours from the airport, depending on the traffic although in theory you should be able to drive to them from the airport in under half an hour. So if you're transiting this is a good option or even for your last night in Kenya to avoid the big drive to the airport the next day. The staff are very helpful and the decor is good. There is good wifi and good food.
Forget the game park - the Nairobi National Park hasn't had significant numbers of animals since the late '90's so don't expect to see much from the hotel unless you're very lucky indeed. It's a long way from the center of town if you're planning to spend any time in the city - distance is not far but the traffic can cause significant gridlock. There's not much around for shopping if you need to top up on groceries or bits and pieces while travelling.
Great location for short stopover in Nairobi. Only 10 mins from the airport. Front desk (Agnes) so friendly and efficient. When asked, she allocated me a lovely room at the back of hotel which overlooked the game park. Personally came downstairs to front of hotel to help out sort out my friend's return to airport when there was a shortage of cars. Outstanding food quality - the outdoor bar has stunning views of the game park - a beautiful setting for drinks at sunset. Great gourmet steak dinner at the Steakhouse on 4th floor with good wine at reasonable prices. Foot massage with Jennifer at the Duma Spa next morning was amazing and very therapeutic after having climbed Mt Kenya and Mt Kilimanjaro! All staff very efficient and so friendly - I was sorry I couldn't "rest up" there for longer!
Very good pan asian food. great setting over National Park. Excellent service and trained restaurant & reception staff
No aitport transfer facilities. Outrageous to charge US$25 one wa. Hotel is sed by BA & KLM crews and others so therefore considered an airport hotel but no transfer facilities. Reception staff in health centre useless and incompetent.
Close to the airport - if you arrive late evening and have a morning flight out you avoid the horrendous Nairobi traffic Nice design
Poor value for money compared with downtown Nairobi Too many things that just went wrong on the service side...please hire professionals I'm tired of spending hours resolving problems you created
Comfy beds Close to Airport Good breakfast Good view from the bar
Terrible and slow service: at lunch we waited 40 minutes for a pizza, had to ask several times for our bill. At dinner food was generally slow to arrive and staff were not at all attentive. The "heated" swimming pool was too cold to swim in. There is a charge to use the sauna/steam room of KES 1500. Staff are friendly but clearly management and direction need improving.
Usd 35.00 for breakfast is rediculous. Way to expensive.
Lovely food, beautiful interior and safe and secure. Efficient and effective security outside and inside the hotel. Felt very safe. And on the Nairobi national park.
The back outlook towards new road being built.
Friendly staff. Clean and beautiful rooms. Gorgeous exteriors and interiors throughout the hotel. Breathtaking view over the National Park. It's a good base if you would like to visit the giraffe centre and elephant sanctuary. Good choice of food for everyone, loads of vegetarian options. They were also very nice with the kids.
