The hotel has created an open, natural environment - lots of vegetation and water which brings delightful birds and insects. Great use of teak in the buildings. Felt natural and 'local'. Excellent staff, extermely well trained and courteous. High quality massages, delicious food, good wines and cocktails, good breakfast in a lovely open setting. Bedroom was fine (though the matress was hard, typical for the region), always well-cleaned, superb bathroom, good balcony. The most impressive aspect of our stay, though, was the way in which the manager accepted our disappointment about the swimming pool. He generously offered a number of complimentary services which did more than compensate for the problem, resulting in two very satisfied customers.
The only problem was the swimming pool water. I felt sorry for the hotel as it struggled with the filtration of the iron-rich ground water - there was a mechanical or chemical problem which left the pool safe but murky. However, the problem was accepted and dealt with very generously.
Staff lovely with children
Beds v uncomfortable
Loved the swimming pool and gardens. Very comfortable room. Good food.
Amazing staff, great atmosphere. Friendly manager let us check out very late for free.
Pool water could be cleaner (but still ok), and no wifi in the rooms, only common areas (which are very nice to hang out)
calm serenity of location but close proximity to local sites and amenities
Nice staff, fabulous swimming pool, very beautiful hotel, makes you feel like relaxing after a busy day visiting temples.
We enjoy the wonderful garden and swimming pool. The staff is very kind and pleasant.
Breakfast was okay but a bit under what one could expect when booking a 5-star hotel. Room was spacious and clean. Small boats in the pool for guests' use -although one was about to go under due to a hole underneath-.
10mn from city centre in tuc-tuc. No wifi in the rooms. Cleaness around the pool; the staff apparently cleans up the facilities around the pool once a day or so. Very expensive pick-up service at the airport. You have to call staff from an interphone to order something from the pool, which is a bit annoying. No bar by the pool.
All the staff were excellent, they could not do enough to help and were always friendly. The grounds were lovely and the pool was very unique.
Unfortunately, Angkor Village Resort & Spa is not up the the standard of other 5 star hotels we have stayed in. The rooms are not very comfortable, the pillows are rock hard, the furniture indoor and on the balcony were all uncomfortable. Management really let this hotel a lot, during our stay we encountered periods of no hot water, no water at all and trouble with the air-conditioning not working properly. There is no shower curtain so the entire bathroom floor becomes wet and very slippery, the shower head fell down every time it was turned on and there were no toilet roll holders. We borrowed an iron & ironing table which I could not believe how filthy the cover was and the iron had open wires hanging out the bottom where it had been broken. Overall, our stay was very disappointing and feel that this hotel is extremely over-priced.
The confort of the rooms which are nicely decorated, the large bathrooms
The pool without maintenance, the garden without maintenance, the basic breakfast. No wifi in the rooms
Very friendly and caring staff. The reception team was very good specially Prana. When the taxi was late the manager himself drove us to our destination.
It was very relaxing and the staff were friendly.
The hotel and surroundings were beautiful. The staff very helpful.
The cocktails at the bar can use some improving and the rooms only have a/c but a lovely colonial decor so a large ceiling fan and mosquito net would be nice touches.
It was what I wanted and where I wanted and there were no negatives. What more could you ask for!
The best swine pool in simereap and the breakfast is very reach. Staffer done a very good job ,even clean my shou with out my asking.
Lunch price is a Lite bit higher.
Everything! Wonderful staff. Very happy and helpful. Excellent food. Comfortable rooms in traditional style. All facilities.
Unable to stay longer!
The staff were very polite and eager to please. But it would have been good if some of them were more conversant in English.
Replenishment of the tea and coffee supplies in the room was poor. We had to ask them to replenish tea and milk twice in a three day stay. The tub in the bathing area could have used a grab rail as it was quite high , and therefore tricky for a senior citizen.
Amazing food, quiet, informal atmosphere. Loved the pool and the privacy. Close to everything yet not in the middle of the hustle and bustle.
Had difficulty communicating with staff at times. Level of English could be improved.
Liked the location being out of town a little, away from the hustle & bustle, but only 10 mins and $3 away in a Tuk Tuk Breakfast was great Liked the River Pool Liked the old Land Rovers for the pick up service
Meals were expensive, double the price you pay in town The repair man who climbed on our roof at 1.am to fix something!
We spent 3 nights here. It was a quiet retreat after a busy day at the temples. The staff were very helpful, breakfast buffet excellent. I enjoyed a spa treatment. The lazy river pool was great. I would recommend this spot to anyone.
Our first day, tired after travelling, there was construction behind our room. Obviously at another site. It went well after 6 pm. Then there was a very loud party with music across the street that was bothersome. That lasted till midnight. Everything was fine after that.
The decor, the food
Nothing I didn't like...
Village concept with the swimming pool river
Some Villa are to close of water treatment system
the pool, the breakfast, the architecture of the hotel, the staff at the desk
noise… new bungalows construction near the room, also no wifi in the rooms
The long meandering swimming pool, the exotic tropical landscaping, the feeling of privacy throughout. Most of all, we appreciated the staff's welcoming smiles.
The frequent whiff of sewage was concerning.
