Very friendly staff warm welcome Great decoration and very clean pool Have to mention the food in it, very delicious, never had the great white Russia as good as in this hotel
The location is a bit inconvenient But with tuk tuk it's ok
Great pool Very nice and helpful staff
Hotel located a bit far away from downtown. Need to take a tuktuk everytime you want to head out
Good sized comfortable room with balcony overlooking the awesome pool, and the tropical gardens everywhere give the place an exotic resort feel. Only a handful of rooms so we hardly saw any other guests. Had dinner at the restaurant one night and all our meals were really, really good. The staff were great and helped us organise our Angkor temples tour and bus to Phnom Penh.
The power went out for about 10 minutes one evening, but they had the generator up and running pretty quickly.
very friendly staff, open to any request, well trained, very nice pool surrounded by green scenery, very tasty breakfast chosen from several options (you can mix between), you can have one free pick up to or from airport/bus station, large room tastefully furnished but rather primitive bathrom which does not suit to the general impression of this elegant hotel
localization is the major issue as our tuk tuk drivers could not find it twice on our way back to hotel
A quiet, peaceful place with friendly, professional, knowledgable staff. Good service and food. Very competitive with downtown Pub St and its ultra busy environs.
Nothing in particular, generally all fine.
I loved the staff. They are very kind and hard working. Areca Angkor is small. That makes it special.
Remember -- you are in Cambodia, not San Diego. So, don't worry about pot-holes, million scooters, dirt roads. Just enjoy the experience.
We enjoyed our stay and we can recommended to those who travel to Siem Reap. The staff helped us with everything we needed and the accommodation is as comfy as nice. And the pool is a big bonus!!!:)
5 stars hotel for a budget price, they are so kind. I visited more than 60 countries and this hotel is without doubt the world best hotel under $50... Nothing less
Not staying longer
helpful staff clean room good bed free massage 1 free tuktuk ride to town per day free airport pickup affordable rate free breakfast (quite filling)
location (not walking distance to pub street, unpaved inner road) but still okay for us since you'll mostly use the tuktuk.
Very friendly staff who were ready to help organise sightseeing at the temples. Nice setting with the pool and comfortable rooms. One free tuk tuk ride from the hotel into town per day.
The website said I could pay by card, but when I tried to pay I was told this wasn't possible because the machine had been broken for a few days. I got shuttled off to an ATM to withdraw cash (costing me high withdrawal fees) and then had only a few moments for breakfast before I had to leave. If the staff had told me when I checked in I could have organised something a little less costly/frustrating.
The drivers were excellent.
The food was awful.
Great hotel and friendly staff. They helped us during our stay in Siam Reap. Big rooms. Good breakfast, though it could be more generous.
The pool was full of insects. The food at the restaurant terrible. We ordered one burger and one pizza and was awful. We didn't eat them. Need to improve that!
I would like to thank again very helpful and nice Areca Angkor Villa Boutique's staff. They tried to foresee all my wishes! I really appreciated my staying there! A free tuk-tuk to the center fully compensates for a quite remote from Old Market&Pub Street location. There were a hair drier, kettle, very comfortable bed ( with a blanket!) and many other things which are necessary for a traveller in the room. At the end Areca's staff presented me a lovely scarf which would remind of stunning days in Siem Reap.
A charming hotel on an excellent location. Outstanding staff, lovely pool, nice and clean rooms, great kitchen, just perfect! Would definitely recommend this to everyone who's looking for a nice and quiet hotel in siem reap.
Nice staff will give u a warm welcome. One free tu took to the town. U can take Tu tuk back with2 dollars.
Good facilities and very clean pool. The decor and spatial layout are excellent Gives a very good impression. Good Tuk-Tuk driver.
Nothing negative about this lovely place.
Rooms were comfortable, clean with a really nice view. Definitely recommend the massages, they are amazing and very cheap. The staff are fantastic- very friendly and attentive
Location was a bit out of main part of town but they offer a free tuk tuk ride into town once a day. Only about a 5 minute ride so not that far. But the location means it's nice and quiet and very peaceful
The staff were simply wonderful. They went out of their way to try to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Assim (I hope I've spelled her name correctly) was a delight, as were all the others at reception (I'm sorry, please foregive me for not remembering the rest of your names).
I wish I could only say positive things about Areca Angkor because of how great the staff are but out of responsibility to the Booking.com community I feel that I have to leave this (I hope) objective evaluation. 1. The location is terrible. It's a 15-20 minute walk to the colonial center, where the restaurants and shops are, but it's impossible to go there by foot - there aren't any sidewalks and the streets (this is July, the rainy season) are always full of motorbikes, tuk-tuks, cars and water. There is absolutely nothing in the neighborhood suitable for westerners (places to eat, to shop, to have a coffee, to simply walk around), meaning you have to take a tuk-tuk just to have lunch away from the hotel. 2. The room design is very poor. There isn't even one single drawer for your clothes. Nor is there a desk or even a chair. There is just a small table with an excruiciatingly uncomfortable bench to sit on. 3. The lights (except for the one above the table and mirror) are all on the same circuit. You either have all the lights on or none of them on. And there aren't bedside lights, so you need a booklight if you want to read before going to sleep. 4. There is NO HOT RUNNING WATER. There's an individual water heater for the shower but nothing for the bathroom sink, which makes shaving (among other things) distinctly uncomfortable. 5. Breakfast - the coffee tasted like it was instant, the teabags were Lipton, the juice was sweetened (artificial or sugar, I couldn't say which) and tasted like it was made of flavor additives rather than real fruit. Again, I wish I didn't have to be so negative but others who are thinking of booking this hotel should be aware of what they're going to receive.
Wi-fi connectivity everywhere, staff was very delightful, responsive and quick to help. They took into account our preference for having a room with balcony. Breakfast was very good, we had all western options and noodles. The food at the restaurant was good, we tried their Asian menu and enjoyed their soups and curries. They also have a poolside menu. The traditional khmer massage was also something worth having, you get 30 minutes for free but it is not expensive at all anyways. We did not find it too far from city centre as we focused more on visiting temples for which you need a tuk-tuk anyways.
The hamburgers were a bit too salty, but we had them only once by the pool.
Big love for the hotel. Nice layout, delicious food, helpful stuff...Wish we could stay longer.
We absolutely loved this place. The hotel and staff were incredible.
Need large fans and misters to cool down eating area. We had to eat in our room with ac. An upgrade on true western breakfast , real French toast, yogurt, waffles ect.
Beautiful hotel at such a good rate. The staff are so lovely! A little far from the center but worth it for the beauty.
A beautifully laid out, pleasant and relaxing hotel. The staff manage that difficult balancing act of being attentive whilst not being intrusive.
Nice little hotel with friendly and helpful staff. It's quite new, so all the rooms are in a great condition. The food is tasty and we both actually liked their breakfast. Good wi-fi, which is, as we had a chance to know later, a common problem in Cambodia. The hotel is located relatively far from city center, but you can always find a tuk-tuk to get there and turn back home to have a good sleep without all the "night life" noises...
