Central location, friendly staff, pool and value for money
Not one of the top travel spots yet. Battambang town doesn't stand out as anything special compared to other places in Cambodia. It doesn't really have anything special, and is very dusty all around.
However, it is ideal for a day trip (max 2 nights) from Siem Reap if you have time.
There are unique experiences that are on the outskirts of town :
1/ Bamboo Train (touristy but still good enough. especially if you can manage to beat the tourist vans in the morning, then it's just you on the train (train ride is about 15 mins each way)
2/ Killing Caves (get there at about 4-430pm, stay for about 30 mins)
3/Bat cave (super cool experience, stay there only for about 30 mins max in the evening

Gave a good feeling of real-life in Cambodia, away from the tourist crowds. The town has a fine old french colonade along the river. Very beautiful. The local market is worth a visit.
Highly interesting are the temples in the surroundings, ex the Banan temple. A visit to some of the commemoration sites also outside the town showing the cruelty of the Khmer Rouge in the nineteen seventies, is a must not to forget what happended.

I homestayed with the O'hamok family - incredible real Cambodian experience. We toured at my pace, I have never experienced this level of relaxation throughout my travels. I only wished I could speak Khmer and or French so that I could have contributed more to conversations but we got by easily with english.

Is a small city, the city centre isn't as described in the traveller guides.
Don't expect a lot of restaurants in the centre.
We would like to recommend Nary's Kitchen for a very nice diner.
The bamboo train is fun, for the rest we did a tour around the city to visit some temples, killing fields and local eating experiences as sticky rice
The local museum is currently closed for renovation
Good location, 15-20 minute walk into town and less than 10 to the night market.
Spacious and clean room with bottle of water. Fan was fine despite hot temperature too!
The thing we loved the most and what makes this place great value for money is the friendly and helpful host! They assisted us with any activities and sightseeing, gave us recommendations and we learnt a lot about life in Cambodia too! Highly recommend to anyone staying in Battambang, particularly on a budget. Also we recommend a tuk tuk tour with Sophran too. :)
Muni Residence and Spa is an incredible place to stay during your time in Battambang. The room, beds, bathroom and shower are fantastic, updated, and clean. But it is the warm hospitality that makes it truly special. We were greeted warmly and with a snack of dragonfruit and papaya grown from a home garden, kindly driven to the nearby restaurant we had selected for dinner and dropped off at the bus station on the day we left. It is one of the most personable accommodations I have ever stayed in and is a wonderful place.
Lay and the family was super nice. treated us as VVIP guest. They shared cambodian local food almost everyday. Thank you once again. we are really blessed. The room is convenient, super clean. has so many facilities including netflix, air purifier . There is a really delish japanese restaurant closeby. recommended for dinner. For everyone planning to Battambang, do not hesitate to choose Muni residence. 3 star budget with 5 stars value ^^
I stayed here with my close friend and we absolutely loved the Place hostel! All the staff members are incredibly kind and welcoming and did a wonderful job at showing us a large selection of different tours to do in Battambang. The crowd here is mostly young 20-year-olds and the hostel does a great job at making a social environment such as their lovely rooftop bar for a reasonable price. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.
Battambang is an interesting town but very busy and noisy . Coming back to Battambang resort after a tour is like arriving in an oasis of tranquility.
The resort is set in a beautiful garden . The swimming pool is huge with plenty of sun beds to relax . Food is delicious and they use a lot of their own grown vegetables. Staff are so friendly, smiling and helpful.
I will strongly recommend Battambang Resort.
The person in charge, actually the only person that night (it was NY's eve, to be fair) was absolutely lovely. But she was THE ONLY one around and couldn't do everything. The room and facilities in general are lovely. Lovely decoration and design and a great swimming pool garden. They didn't offer anything for NY's eve, which seems a bit of a shame for a boutique hotel.
It's certainly different of any guesthouse/hotel, I've ever stayed in. I'd the best sleep in days due to the peaceful and quiet location. No cars or motorbikes' noise. But what really makes this place great is the owner. He goes out of his way to help you in anything you need. He's the kindest person I met in Cambodia. I would come back again.
A real boutique hotel gem, in traditional Khmer style. If you are looking for authentic experience this is your choice in Battambang, the owners and staff were simply great and it felt like being an home guest. Cuisine is excellent and we were also invited to their Christmas Eve dinner next to the pool.
Oh Battambang, named after one of our favorite Sinsisamuth songs, is probably one of the most beautiful and comfortable hotels we’ve stayed at in Cambodia. Lovely design and architecture and the staff absolutely warm, friendly, and hospitable! They took such good care of us!
Great staff, family atmosphere, the son speaks french and the mom did everything to help us during our stay. The rooftop is perfect for sunset views, the hotel is right in the city center and the lobby is the hub for all nice tuktuk tour drivers!
Hospitality was exceptional and the meals delicious. It's nice to wake up each morning to a tray for making tea. The host was the perfect tour guide as well. It was very convenient having several of the Battambang tourist attractions close by.
The place is filled with trees and plants. You can hear the sound of the birds and feel at peace. The property interior is designed as a traditional Cambodian room. The service of the staff is amazing and everyone is very friendly and helpful.
The staff were so friendly and helpful. This is a great hotel to get out and explore Battambang. It's not too far from town by tuktuk. The rooms were big and the twin had a privacy curtain. Would definitely stay here again if I'm in the area.
Hotel is very clean and comfortable. It is not located on the side of the river where the old part of town is but on the other side. This is the side you want to be on. Next to the Riverwalk which is highly entertaining in the evening.
Good location. Hotel provided an excellent tuktuk ride around Battambang to bamboo train, killing and bat caves. Hotel offered an upgrade to a bigger room for a small additional cost too. Room was very big and comfortable.
The hotel is a marvelous 1930s French colonial hotel. It has a fantastic garden with lush tropical plants and a lovely swimming pool. The staff and the food are both great.
pretty little resort with nice swimming pool and fine rooms. breakfast / reception area and staff are good. beds are a bit hard but they are big and comfortable.
Beautiful hotel resort, spacious and cosy suite room, breakfast ala cart delicious and friendly staffs. Highly recommended this place to other travelers.
