I was there for the 2nd time, this time with my fiancee. Although I was grounded due to a bad cold virtually the whole stay, it was perfect again. If we should come back again one day, then we'll definitely stay at the Borei Angkor!
The hotel lobby is very nice, and you feel the lemongrass scent as soon as you enter. I got a room facing the pool, which was nice. The breakfast was rich and nice. I also got a box breakfast for my sunset Angkor Wat trip.
The mattress was firm, could not sleep well. Massage is overpriced. Hotel lols like 4star+, but definitely not a 5 star.
big room good food
cheque in time
The staff couldn't do enough to help. The "culture night" was delightful and food delicious especially brilliant breakfast Excellent value for money
Christmas theming was a bit tacky but not if you had a young family.
We enjoyed the facilities around the resort. The pool and the full breakfast were well appreciated by the family. The shuttle bus to and from the airport has been a very nice gesture as well.
If i could make a suggestion that we don't mind receiving a reminder to confirm the pick-up from the airport instead of me calling the hotel before we left Aust.
I travelled with my 11yo child and my mother. We stayed in a premier room with a king size bed. The room was big, the bed comfortable and big enough for the 3 of us. We paid 9USD for an extra buffet breakfast. The bathroom was big and had shower and a bath tub. The staff provided excellent service. The swimming pool was very clean and mesured about 25m lenght with Bubble bath and kiddie pool. We booked our first day tour through the hotel desk. Sunrise in Angkor Wat then we visited 2 other temples near by. We hired a private van. The second day, we took a tour from one of the tour operator on the Pub Street area. We visited the water falls and the floating village. At night we would ride the tuk tuk to have dinner at the french quarter. The international food was very good and I would recommend Le Tigre de Papier. I have to say Khmer cuisine is not as good as thai or vietnamese food. The following day, we were happy to relax in the hotel and took our plane late at night. We requested for a late check out at 2pm. We were able to take out last shower in the pool lockers.
Nothing. We had a wonderful experience in Siem Reap
Our large room and terrace the pool area the breakfast buffet the spacious an elegant public areas helpful staff. outside bath and shower on our terrace.
poor and limited furnishings in our room. lack of proper seating in our large room. insufficient drawer and storage space in our room. small but expensive meal at the classic dinner/dance show.
We were collected from the airport by Vibol who looked after us throughout our stay. The rooms are quite grand and the facilities of the hotel are exceptional. All the staff are really helpful and we were looked after to a very high standard throughout our stay. Complementary car to and from airport is an added bonus.
Beds are rather hard though hotel did all it cold to ameliorate this. Very high mark up (+50%) on hotel arranged tours - we used internet to arrange ourselves without any problem.
The dinner is adapted to european tastes, could be more authentic
The service of this hotel is excellent. The staff are so friendly that almost makes you sound rude. The location is perfect both for visiting the city and for the temples of Angkor Wat. Would I recommend this to my own family? Definitely! Especially do not miss the breakfast here, there is so much variety and it is an experience in itself.
There is far less to do in Siem Reap compared to, say, Bangkok...so a lot of guests hang out in the pool area...which brings me to the pool size; very small given the strong demand during the high season. Another negative point was the live music played where someone sings until 10:00pm, which can be irritating if you want to read something or sleep. Finally, the prices of food and services...they tend to be outright ridiculous sometimes...Example is calling Bangkok, which costs USD 3.30 per minute. It is perhaps cheaper to book a plane ticket and go there...
The hotel rates itself as a 5 star resort and it's plainly not - BUT it is a great hotel. You don't pay 5 star prices to stay here and if you want 5 star facilities then I guess you would stay at the Hyatt. Having said that - the staff were wonderfully efficient and friendly and went out of their way to help us. The rooms were cleaned to a high standard and the breakfast was more than adequate. I'd have no problems with staying there again.
Apart from the reception area, it is looking a little tired - the rooms could do with an update especially the bathrooms. BUT - really these are just small points. It's not as luxurious as the website makes out and I really don't like the louvre windows between the bathroom and the bedroom - if you're not on good terms with your room mate it could be embarrassing!!! My main grumble would be that this is a very good 4 star hotel - not a 5 star one.
Customer service was superb. We all enjoyed our stay including the food and facilities. Would highly recommend this resort to anyone.
The staff was excellent, ready to answer all our questions and demands with kindness. Great breakfast and excellent facilities
Not a single thing I did not like
Although situated on a main arterial, the walls and courtyards keep out the noise and create a retreat. The staff were exceptional. One day Daniel, a staff member, overheard my wife talking to me about indigestion, so Daniel send up oatmeal and tea to the room. He then called to make sure I was feeling well. The breakfast buffet is exceptional, the bar around the pool just right. We would most assuredly return.
Our room was very nice on the fourth floor with a balcony overlooking the pool. The breakfast was very good. The staff was very attentive and the service we received from check in to check out was superb. Even the manager was attentive. The hotel was close to Angkor Wat and a 20 minute walk or a short $2 tuktuk ride into downtown Siem Reap.
The WiFi in the room was terrible. The only time there was any chance of using it was late at night - very frustrating. I should take off a point from facilities for that, but I will leave it at saying that a hotel which offers free WiFi should also actually provide it. One day we left at 5am to see the sunrise over Angkor Wat, so we asked for a box breakfast. Compared to the buffet breakfast, what we got was very sparse, just a few things thrown into a box. Even a box breakfast can be more imaginative than a few sweet rolls and a couple of fruits.
The Borei was an oasis in the heart of Siem Reap. Close enough to town to walk (20mins) but hot dusty and chaotic. A tuktuk was only $2 one way, and you could ask the driver to pick you up when you were done in town . We usually prefer small boutique properties due to the more personalized attention you get. But Mr. Dawind made us feel special as he greeted us with our names each time we came through the lobby. He always asked us what we needed and had great suggestions when asked. But at the same time, he was not overbearing. What a gem this man is to the resort personnel. The hotel is beautifully decorated in traditional wood and art and the grounds are soothing. The breakfast buffet was amazing. The wifi can be weak in the room as others say, but I think this is a Cambodia issue. I found it worked quite well in the middle of the night when there was no other competition! We booked a tour online through Grasshopper Bike Tours, to the temple complex and that was well worth it. Our guide Sambo knew how to circumvent the masses and took us through shady jungle trails to avoid the heat.
5 stars hotel with a grand lobby, lovely outdoor pool and excellent room. Front desk staff may need more training. After the staff told us the room will be ready in 10 minutes time, we waited for over 20 minutes and then she leaded us a room still under cleaning. Well, turn out she upgraded us to a room with pool-view . Good or bad? You decide. Good buffet breakfast.
We stayed there for 2 nights and received 2 A4 size notices on the same day about a VVIP group meeting held in the hotel, so the swimming pool was closed from 2 pm of the day onwards and there was a number of security measures including we were not able to open the balcony doors in the morning of the following day. If we knew, we would not book this hotel.
The breakfast was AMAZING!!!! The beds were the most comfortable I slept in during a two month tour! The pool was lovely.
If you want to enjoy Angkor go to this hotel, it might not be the most modern, but they sure know how to make your stay perfect. Breakfast is AWESOME. Staff, great and competent. Complementary airport transfer!! Great swimingpool with nice food. Best bed in one month in Vietnam...
Pretty much everything very good. The breakfast buffet was superb. We enjoyed the evening 'happy hours' with inexpensive drinks and live band near the pool - meant our kid could swim and we keep an eye out, whilst enjoying our drinks!
Check in took a long time - they sit you down and serve you a "welcome cake" which all members of our party found repulsive, as well as a tea which didn't fare much better. A bad start, but was forgotten
From the moment you are picked up at the Siem Reap Airport to the moment you are driven back for your departure, your needs and desires come first as a guest at the Borei Angkor Resort. Checking in at the vast comfortable lobby feels like having a drink at the bar. The rooms are very spacious, clean and beautifully furnished in solid teak. The beds are extra large and very comfortable. The bathrooms fully equipped with separate bathtub and shower and plenty of room to move. around. What makes the hotel special though is the staff. I have rarely experienced the service and real care provided by all at the Angkor Borei.
Choice and quality of the restaurant food. Rather small swimming pool for the size of the hotel. The wifi is painfully slow.
Great pool and breakfast, a short walk to Siem Reap centre. The car pick up and hire was spot on.
I liked everything... If I go to Kambodia once again, I will choose this hotel for sure.
excellent staff, especially Manager, Mr. Moon, very helpful for finding restaurants,
