Everything about this place was great, the staff was very helpful and nice, the hotel is beautiful and so on.. would love to stay here again! The best hotel I have stayed on in Cambodia!
The setting of the hotel was great, it was isolated from the busy street. If you want to go to the city center, free tuk-tuk service is provided. I like the retro design of rooms and common areas; breakfast and massage were also great. Overall, the place was clean and well organized. Staff was nice and helpful. I wish I could spend more time there! Wifi wasn't strong in room but who cares when you were on a holiday.
The 150m road outside the hotel was bumpy, but it was ok.
Staying in La Villa Coloniale was a good experience. It's very private & you won't be bothered by the usual crowd you meet at hotel lobbies & breakfast area. The staff are very hospitable & their approach to guests makes you feel like family. It feels like an extension of home in a foreign place..
The mosquitoes. Although I could've asked for assistance but dealt with those bloodsuckers myself instead.
the staffs and food is great
Very relaxing and free tuk tuk rides in and out of the centre. Lovely little hotel with excellent breakfast.
The hotel is situated outside the centre of Siem Reap, we liked that very much. Transport to the city was provided by the hotel (tuktuk). The hotels kitchen was very good and the service was excellent. In our stay was a free tuktuk ride to the temples included.
The grounds were beautiful, and the detail of the colonial rooms was great. The pool was nice and clean, and the food service was very good.
They served instant coffee at breakfast, which was horrible for a coffee lover! The room had a mounted air conditioner, but it didn't get the room very cold. The complementary massages were mediocre at best.
Its more intimate than staying in a large hotel and tuk-tuk tours are provided by the hotel which owns 3 of them.
This hotel is a true oasis in Siem Reap. It is beautifully designed and the interior is superbly appointed. Most notable, is the staff who are professional, attentive and always willing to make our stay as perfect as possible.
Quiet beautiful place. The staff was amazing. They went out of there way to help us with whatever we needed.
The staff were lovely. So helpful. They couldn't do enough for us. We loved the ambiance of the historic building and the furnishings. We ate dinner at the hotel every night, all the meals were delicious.
Being nervous about mosquitoes I was surprised all meals were in a location without insect screens. Due to the location we didn't venture out much except for our Angkor tours and visits to the museum.
The gentle ambience, no hustle or bustle. Beautiful period decor.
The lawn area required some attention
The hotel staff was very nice and tried hard to help. The hotel did adjust and refund for the changes/problems/issues noted, but they hotel cannot replace my holiday time. Remember - this is an emerging market and things will not be perfect, and I think the hotel did a good job trying to make things right.
The hotel room was connected to another room and we could hear every little noise from the people in the room next to us - they actually woke us up. There is no hot water at this hotel. The towels smell like fire wood, because they hang the towels outside to dry - disgusting. All of the towels were dirty with stains. The hotel offers free massage, but when you try to schedule, the hotel says that the massage is only available from 5PM-10PM. The website does not make this clear. Also, that massage lady asked me for a tip - not good. Also, be careful booking anything through the hotel, as packages advertised on website are not actually what is offered. Make sure to set a pickup time and drop-off time, because the hotel staff do not make this clear and nor do the drivers/guides. Be very clear with what you want.
Love the privateness of the hotel. Beautiful colonial house with tasteful decor. Good choice if you want to be away from the hustle bustle of the city and prefer and private accomodation. Very attentive staffs!
The windows in our rooms were shut and cant be opened. But it didnt bother us much. The TV wasnt working but then again there's so much to do besides sitting in the room watching TV.
The staff of this hotel is absolutely exceptional, they were so professional at attending their jobs and at the same time so friendly that you can only conclude that Cambodians are marvelous people. In other words, service is excellent and definitely superior to what you would expect in a hotel of this category. They are always ready to help and the tuc tuc always ready to take you to town for free (or elsewhere for a fare to be negotiated) Also, considering the quality of building, furniture and equipment, this hotel is really value for your money. This boutique hotel is very well equipped in every respect, rooms are well furnished and spacious, bathrooms are sufficiently large and impeccably clean. Food is cooked to your order and in front of you. It is of excellent quality and abundant.
One thing I can regret though is that the dining room is not enclosed, and since there is a large temperature excursion between day and night in Siem Reap, after 7 pm it can get chilly...so have a sweater handy to wear while dining.
Staff super friendly and quietly efficient. Lazy afternoons on the deck chairs in the shade with pieaceful calm and only faint noises as reminders of the sights and excitement outside. Hotel is stylishly decorated and is testament to the good style of the country.
Little back road leading to hotel turns into a swamp after rain. Too dark at night for comfort (can trip easily) Dogs barking every night, making for a restless sleep. Food at the hotel restaurant too basic and trying too many things without doing any really good.
we loved our stay and would definitely go back. haven of peace just outside of town, towards Angkor. the hotel director and staff go all the way to make your stay superb. tuk-tuk service to town and elsewhere is provided for free. the pool is great, breakfast also very good. we also got a in-room massage included, and still remember it! thanks!
a bit hidden and out of the way, if you like to be in the centre of the action. but with the tuk-tuk service, in 5 minutes you are in town!
The ambience, the furniture, the staff attention... really nice to be there!
