The location was great. I loved hanging by the pool! The food was great and the cocktails too! Value for money! It was also quiet which my boyfriend and I liked! The spa was OKAY nothing great but that's about it. The AC was good, the bathroom was superb. The front desk helped us book tours and get great your guides. They provided incense and candles in the bathroom.
Can't think of anything I didn't like
A lot of noise and there was no dispensable ear plugs available at reception
Location, hotel's general setup: rooms all on ground floor with view to courtyard/garden, very friendly staff, very good restaurant with excellent value for money, breakfast's banana bread
We chose this hotel because of its location and facilities - especially because of the pool area and we booked a more expensive room to have a pool view. When we arrived the complete pool area was under construction. So we paid extra to have a construction work view?! We were told that we could go to another hotel's pool - but this was not what we booked (and paid). Moreover, there was of course quite noisy construction work the whole day which also made sitting outside and inside quite uncomfortable. First, they did not offer any discount or something else. We insisted to speak to the manager and then we managed to get an upgrade to a suite and a free dinner. But it was very disappointing that we had to go into a discussion for it. I think the hotel should have lowered the prices by 50% and informed the guests in advance. It was not the stay we had expected :(
Pool Facilities of junior suite Complementaries Friendliness of staff
Atmosphere, elegant design, good food at the restorant, incredible garden and greeneries, nice pool.
The breakfast in not a buffet but you have ti chiose onlu Teo discesa from tue menu
The Suite Room is a bit more than the average but value worth every dollar. Excellent staff very friendly and helpful, good location, very nice design. one of the best hotels iv been into around the world.
The small bugs near the door but this is considered out of the hotels hand and not that annoying.
close to pub street, old market, night market, the post office, lots of nice little boutiques and resorts. also walking distance to hard rock cafe and many places. Always quiet hotel so good to sleep and nice to enjoy a few days there as it has its own spa and pool. Has a really good resturant and a few really nice shops.
Wifi was a joke. No gym/fitness room. Bugs in room.
Beautiful architecture (interiors, buildings and plan layout), nice pool area, mysterious and lush vegetation.mysteriously no mosquitos.
The hotel is in need of some refurbishing. Tale care of your beautiful hotel!
Nicely furnished. Helpful staff. Pleasant and relaxed atmosphere.
The staff were very helpful and friendly I felt very comfortable being here. The breakfasts were really good and my room was excellent and had a swimming pool view.
Staff was really helpful and accommodating. Convenient location. Tour services were reasonably priced.
Bathroom was divided from the room with a louver sliding door so you could hear and smell what was going on in the toilet. Also, light would go through so going to the toilet in the middle of the night could wake a light sleeper.
Location, ambiance, grounds, feel, staff, efficient, breakfast, tours.
Mosquitoes.. not a hotel issue, and staff did max to minimize.
It was recommended by two separate friends, and it was as good as they described. Perfect for a solo traveler, and the guide and the driver they recommended for a three-day stint were both great. The saturday buffet was a highlight, with two hours of traditional dancers in beautiful costumes. My favorite employee was the lady who ran the diningroom, and every day as I finished my delicious scrambled egg and ham breakfast, she would present me with sealed "leftover" packages of skewered fruit and two croissants. They were very welcome snacks later. The kindness and politesse of the Cambodian people was extraordinary. Using US dollars and having English spoken everywhere was also very helpful to this traveler.
The shops that were in the ground floor spaces were lovely but all the items were more expensive than any others I encountered in Siem Reap. They were usually empty during the week I stayed there, which wasn't very inviting. But this is a small criticism. On the whole, it was a wonderful experience and I would recommend the FCC to anyone making the trip..
Great atmosphere. A wonderful reminder of the time, when Cambodia was a wild place and you were glad to find a hotel to relax.
We were a 60 year old mother and 30 year old daughter traveling together from California. We LOVED FCC. By far, the highlight of Cambodia was our driver, Samol Soun or "Sam." We ended up hiring him all 4 days we were there. His english was clear and steady, he was very helpful, kind, and had many interesting stories about the history of Cambodia. Ask for him in advance to be your tour guide or just driver. Rates are incredible. You can also look him up on Facebook in advance and message him: Facebookdotcom/samol.soun. In regards to the hotel, it was clean, modern, the perfect location, had the best included breakfast (even Western style, delivered to your room) and the restaurant was amazing. We ended up eating there daily. It's been written about in lots of high end travel magazine, but still cheap pricing. (It is Cambodia.) $8 thai dishes, $9 western dishes, $2 beers, and $4-$5 premium cocktails. The restaurant becomes a bit of a scene at night, so make a reservation. We stayed in the Cinamon room, which is 2nd floor, near reception. That room has two queen beds and is slightly larger than the other standard rooms. I would recommend it. The staff is so helpful. They're constantly filling your room with flowers, cookies, incense (to ward off mosquitos) and everyone spoke English. The spa was also top notch; great, professional massages for around $30/hour. One last tip regarding visiting Angkor Wat: don't do sunrise and sunset all in one day. Pay the sunrise tour one day, then come back to the hotel and rest up. On a different day arrive at the temples around 8AM and stay through sunset. Getting up at 4AM for sunrise made staying out all day til 7PM too brutal. When I come back to Siem Reap I will definitely stay here again!
The mattresses and towels weren't that high-quality in comparison to Western accommodations, but definitely fine for the price.
Staff were extremely helpful and courteous. The location was fantastic- right beside a lovely river walk and within walking distance to the national museum and pub street. It was only a 15 minute drive to the Angkor temples and 20 mins to the airport. The hotel restaurant was exceptional.
Very central, great old building and nice, big rooms
The service in this fantastic location was not what we expected... Especial the staff at the entrance!
Excellent restaurant. Nice pool area. Quiet location.
Quality of service decreased the longer we stayed (5 nights). Staff was friendly enough but maintanance of the place isn't too great. There are definitely other places with better value for money in Siem Reap.
Staff very helpful and friendly. Food was excellent, and sitting on the balcony of the restaurant to eat was a delight.
The glass front of the rooms with a sliding glass door meant you had no privacy without keeping the curtain closed, so the room felt dark and cave-like.
