Some mould in the bathroom corners - it was cleaned after I pointed it out, and the manager was very apologetic, but they need to take care as the hotel was only renovated a few months ago, so to find mould in the corners of the bathroom already is not a good sign.
Only a rain shower, no hand held shower, so your hair will get wet - especially when the shower cap is cleared away and not replaced.
Also, we booked a quiet room, but were put in a room street side, and next to a family with children who were awake at 6am.
The gym looks a bit dated, but is functional.
Although not the fault of our hotel, but our private taxi (booked via the hotel) to Phnom Penh was ridiculous - we were told 4-5 hours - it took almost 6 hours, thanks to the taxi driver stopping to do his errands - first, stop at the office to pay 90$ fee which was in the opposite direction, then stop to pay police, then stop to chat to his friends, then stop to buy sausage for his friends, then stop for his breakfast/lunch (20 mins)!, then stop to buy petrol, then stop to buy a bottle of gas. There were 2 additional stops for us - 1 to take some photos, and 1 to use the bathroom. When I book a private driver, I do not expect to have to add time to my journey for the driver to do his personal errands.
Super free airport pickup. Lovely friendly staff. Ms Samba was very kind and explained what to see in the town/area. Mr Loeum, the manager also chatted to us every day and answered our questions.
Really nice breakfast - western and asian food available. Nice big room with lots of fluffy pillows and a nice comfy bed and duvet.
Happy hour cocktails were a good price, delicious and nicely decorated. Comfy, clean and cosy bar area too, again with nice staff, who all remember you and have time to have a laugh and chat about your day.
A few minutes by tuk tuk to the nightlife, and about 10 mins by tuk tuk to Angkor Wat, so not right in the heart of things, but not too far either.
For less than €50 a night incl. breakfast, it was worth every penny. I have stayed in worse big chain 5 star hotels. I would recommend this without hesitation.
