its was a little far away from the downtown. but they lend us some bicicles, so it was great!
Super quiet and spacious room. The restaurant and pool area is nice and really relaxing. It´s a beautiful building really nice and well decorated. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant serves good food with a good price.
It´s far from the city center and main attractions. The room we stayed and the comum areas are not well kept. For exemple: in our room the sink tap was broken, there was no pressure on the shower, the TV wasn´t working and the energy pugs were broken too. In the swiming pool`s toilet the sink was clogged for the whole week, no one fixed it, and inside the pool some tiles were missing what can be dangerous. If they pay more attention on this details de hotel would be amazing place to stay.
Nice size pool. Breakfast good variety.
Quite far to walk into town and contrary to info in Lonely Planet and Lotus Lodge's brochures, there are no free tuk tuk rides into town so this adds onto cost. Breakfast items uncovered and lots of flies. Free bikes in poor repair but did last 40km plus ride.
nice surroundings breakfast good internet connection good price helping staff at reception tuk-tuk service at hotel
not very clean far from town, in the middle of nothing
The hotel needed to be fixed and updated. It could have been (and can be) a very nice place
Pool was a good size, however very warm and not much reprise from the sweltering heat. It was also poorly maintained and had tiles falling off.
Staff were terrible. Shocking service. Bathrooms were atrocious and looked as though they had never been cleaned. No proper running water in the shower. I had to swim and use the outdoor shower (which was not a whole lot better and covered in frogs) the whole 2 day stay in order to clean.
Billiard Cleanness Private balcony in front of a room Free tea, coffee, kattle
Asked to fix hot water 2 times -> lived without hot water 3 days long. Paid $2 one way to get in center with tuk-tuk, though it's announced as free-of-charge shuttle in hotel. WiFi was rather absent than present. Tuk-tuk tours at hotel are more expensive ~30%+ than offers around.
Disappointing experience in every aspect But thanks to our tuk-tuk driver Sak!
We are young volunteering travelers and for the first time in Cambodia we were looking for some "comfort" in a 3* hotel. Big mistakes! 1. The wifi was not available in our room upon check-in and we had to transfer to another room - 207 with twin beds one hour later. 2. Then we discovered that the shower IS NOT a shower; better to call it "leaking drops" and most of the time we did not have any hot water. It was just impossible to wash my long hair so I had to knee to use the tap made for the feet...This water also has a weird taste. 3. The "free shuttle" to Siem Reap center is not available any more although it was mentioned on the hotel description. Any trip to town will cost $4 for a return, or you can also use the free bicycles (to be avoided at night as they don't have lights). 4. The swimming pool was simply disgusting : with broken parts, some areas even had some "algs" growing on the pool ground (we could see that from the green colour) 5. I'm afraid to point that the staff - although friendly - is just inefficient and cannot speak/ understand good English; it was challenging for us to simply change the room or order our breakfast from the menu... 6. The breakfast prepared for our trip in Angkor temples can be MUCH better - 2 pieces of bread + butter + 1 slice of ham + 1 egg and... 1 jam? NO DRINKS PROVIDED Our whole stay was a joke. Overall, it seems that Lotus Lodge used to be a nice hotel with higher rates years ago. It is NOT the case any more, the hotel is getting old and nothing has been done to renovate the swimming pool and the bathrooms. Eventually the lack of qualification and language skills of the staff place the service of the hotel at a very very low point. For the same price ($20) you would definitely get way better services in the center of Siem Reap - e.g. the most expensive room in "Garden Village". Management should act to keep this hotel alive!!!
Lovely place short tuk tuk ride from the town centre with lots of perks such as a free bottle of water every day or pick up from the bus or airport. They can also arrange onward bus travel, tours or laundry and give you advice on where's good to see. We had breakfast included which was great. There was a decent selection for everyone but it is the same every day. The food in the restaurant was nice too. We loved having a pool - especially after a long day walking round temples. .
The one thing that would bug me if I was staying here longer is the water pressure. It was terrible in all the rooms we had. Some days it was more of a dribble than a shower.
Staff polite and helpful, swimming pool, kmer food at restaurant
Wifi let us down, location wasn't grate but easy to get to town,
No free shuttle bus as advertised, staff didn't seem to bother, basic breakfast, generally a bit run down, possible bed bugs as a few of us had bites which I don't think were mosquitos
The lady receptionist is very accommodating and friendly,
the room (309) that was offered have poor AC, low water pressure, and side fan is too dusty.
Pleasant swimming pool area. Nice layout and gardening. Helpfull staff.
Our gtoup haf two rooms. Both rooms where not very clean. Broken light fixtures. Missing light fixtured. No remote for the aircon. No remote for the tv. Filthy shower curtain. Terrible paint job. No mosquito netting in front of bathroom air vents so bathroom was full of mosquitos. All in all the place was not clean, may once have been nice but really needs to be fixed up.
I will recommended lotus lodge to all of my friends who wants to visit cambodia.. Nice job veronica
Staff very nice. Nice meals cooked to order in the restaurant which were fairly priced. Tea and coffee facilities in room but see below. Shower worked which was handy because we could only get a trickle of water out of the washbasin.
The room was very gloomy due to low wattage bulb overhead and neither bedside light worked. We asked at reception if they could fix the lighting but after three visits from staff, it could not be fixed. Impossible to read anything in the bedroom. The water in the washbasin was only a trickle of cold water. Even with the plug in it ran out faster than it filled up! At times the water cut off completely. We both had diarrhea and vomiting. Now I can't if say this was due to Lotus Lodge or not however we did eat and drink there the most. I noticed the maids washing our mugs in a standpipe above a muddy puddle using the same gloved hand that they use to clean rooms and toilets. After that we couldn't face using the mugs in the room. The pool has some tiles missing and the water didn't look the cleanest. With a little effort, Lotus Lodge could be so much better. They need to make sure everything in the room works, improve hygiene, and repair the swimming pool.
Quaint, pool and pool table nice for the kids, beds pretty good, clean, tour services available if needed, tuks tuks hang out in front for transportation needs.
Wi-Fi signal strength varied in the room, somewhat further from town necessitating more $ in tuk tuks, one day printer was broken, another day the phone line was down. Poor water pressure in bathroom, noisy construction nearby at 7:00 am, otherwise quiet. Title walkway to rooms extremely slippery when wet (often) and builds puddles. Breakfast marginal at best.
Quiet location, lovely setting. Nice restaurant although it was dead empty every night we were there. Pool was nice, although water was slightly murky. Lots of chairs around the pool. Room was very comfortable, as was the bathroom.
Reception staff seemed to be AWOL half the time. Needed a $2 tuk tuk to get anywhere.
The plus was that there was a big big swimminpool, good airco, somethimes very good wifi, close to Anghor Wat and the food there was good
Swimminpool kinda dirty, mosquito's gettin in easily, free trip to downtown was cancelled, cannot pay with creditcard, internet was somethimes crap and no help with gettin bustickets from siem reap to bangkok
the place quiet the swimming pool the nature around the rooms
the breakfast the staff
The location is great for relaxing but if you want to go out every night stay closer to town, or take free tuk tuk rides to town, good food, nice pool, helpful staff
slippery tiles on the walk to rooms, instant coffee at breakfast poorly lit rooms
The bar is excellent with a pool table and relax room. Also the restaurant is very good.
The noise from the frogs at night.
We enjoyed our 6 day stay at the hotel. Close enough to Angkor Wat, you can easily go there by bike Cheap room with bfast included Nice swimming pool\bar area Free bikes and tuktuk Room was big and clean
- far from town but they offer free tuktuk (1 per day, one way only) - only 2 bicycles were working - the swimming pool was only cleaned twice during our stay - there was always something missing when we ordered breakfast (no ham, no bread, no honey, no muesli, no mango,etc.. It was frustrating because it happened every morning - the staff were sleeping all day long in the rooms that were not occupied, not very professional.. Too much staff btw
Quite far away from the centre, no tuk tuk shuttle into town as advertised
