Turning power off when they think you are not in your room.
The food, the location, the ability to book all my tours from the hotel and especially the helpful, friendly and attentive staff. Stayed 7 days, would definitely go back.
Wifi works well Staff and owner are nice
Bed quality. No new towels every day. Noisy aircon. Extremely hot in the corridors. No room for a chair, very crampy room. Lots of hair in the very hot bathroom, no toilet paper.
+ good price
- without breakfast - bathroom isnt very comfortable
The staff were exceptional, the food amazing, and the rooms very clean and comfortable. The staff would do everything for you!
There was nothing I didn't like!
Staff was very kind and helpful. They even offered us to take a shower (and towels) after we checked out because we needed to catch a bus in the evening.
Could be a little closer to the pub street.
very hospitable personnel very accommodating staff they gave us clear instructions they serve good food aircon units were good good wifi service very friendly people good Tuk Tuk ride big thanks to Mr. Kat for his generosity in service to us... we will surely recommend this place to some of our friends.. til next time!
Very friendly and approachable staffs.
manager tried to be helpful
old air con - took too long to make room cold and air con is switched off when you leave the room, it's no fun sitting in very hot room waiting 15-20 min for the air con to cool the room off when you come back from temples no wi-fi, lied by female member of staff saying internet is bad in the whole area - hotel opposite had perfect wi-fi stayed in better hotels in South East Asia and paid half of what I did in Mandalay Inn
The lady owner of the Mandalay works hard to ensure that the guests receive good service and excellent value for money. The location is good and there is a 24 hrs security guard which means if you are late back you are not locked out!
Everything. This place was disgusting! Mosquitoes everywhere, shower over toilet disgusting and no lock on door. No air con, sheets, towels and linen was disgusting. Very poor place for the money and they charge extra for using booking.com! Ashamed of taking my wife there! This place should be shut down or burned to the ground for a siem reap bonfire.
Well located. Correct for the price. Clean room and hot water.
Not the worse but uncomfortable bed and pillow and really hot room. Room small
Good clean room
Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Location is excellent. Away from the main road but close enough to walk to night market and pub street.
Flies in my bedroom.
Close to Pub street and night market.
First night was given a terrible room. After complaining got another one the next day, much better and quieter. Wifi hopeless.
The Khmer and Burmese food at the restaurant was excellent. I don't usually recommend eating at the hotel but in this case I do. The manager was very friendly and accommodating of our needs.
The rooms are small but what do you expect for $17 a night. I also noticed that they flip off the power when you are out of your room so you may want to be careful of food items in the fridge.
The smiling staff and the excellent location! Decent food and good bikes for rent to cycle Angkor Wat
Bathroom could be a bit cleaner
Very warm, friendly staff.
Upkeep of room amenities was a bit poor.
Briliant location, helpful and informative stuff, good quality for low price
location is good, staff also well, hot water shower good, TV is good,
no too much space can put my things in the room, no bin, only one small trash bin in the toilet,
This is clean, comfortable place to stay in Siem Reap. Great location - it is located on the south end of the strip, and is just a two minute walk from Pub Street, the night market and all the other action. The staff are excellent, very friendly and very accommodating. We showed up much earilier than check-in time and they were kind enough to expediate the cleaning of our room for us. One staff member especially is fantastic - Kat, doubles as a tuktuk driver for Angkor tours at very reasonable rates. We had him for two days and he arranged a temple tour customized so that we would avoid most of the large tour groups. While he's not a tour guide officially, he's knowledgable of the sites and was happy to share insights of the various Angkor temples we saw. Kat was fantastic and one of the best parts of our three week trip in Cambodia and Vietnam. He was easily the main reason we had such a wonderful time touring Angkor. Kat was honest, kind and shared a lot of stories about what it's really like to live in Cambodia. Get in touch with him in advance so that he's your tuktuk driver while you're in Siem Reap. (He also drove us to the airport.) Overall, Mandalay Inn is a nice place to call your base while in Siem Reap, we would undoubtedly stay here again!
Really great stay here. Location very good and staff are lovely
Mandalay Inn does have quite good accommodation at a reasonable price, and I would have been happy to stay there if staff could have been civil to me, but I did not want my holiday ruined by their rudeness and inappropriate behaviour. I know it's not a five-star hotel, but some basic civility would have gone a long way with me, and when the problems are widespread as they appear to be, then management is at fault.
Although I had a reservation for nine days, I checked out of Mandalay Inn after one night for the following reasons: Upon arrival the safe in my room was locked, so I asked staff to assist me with it. I was then treated to an insulting 20 minute lecture by a staff member. He talked to me like I was stupid and kept touching my arm. He would not leave my room when I indicated it was time for him to go. Staff had the reservation messed up and tried to collect $50 extra from me. While all this was being sorted, another customer approached and a staff member offered him a glass of cold water even though I had been standing there for twenty minutes and she had to walk around me to give it to him. The owner refused to accept travellers' cheques, although they had a large sign at reception saying they would. The next morning a staff member pushed open the door and entered my room without waiting for me to answer her knock. The hotel did not honour the free airport pickup. All this happened in less than 24 hours. When I complained about the way I had been treated to the female owner, she was completely unapologetic and suggested that I was the problem. (I have stayed at several different hotels in Cambodia and did not have problems with service at any others.) She told me if I didn't like way I had been treated to go somewhere else, so I did. In fairness, her husband seemed more reasonable, so I hope he can explain to her that it is not in her best interests to treat customers badly, even in high season.
The hotel is very conveniently located to the old market.
The room was pretty small and very cramped.
Staff, position, value for money food' All great! Should call it guest house. don't forget to ask for downstairs room if you don't do stairs
getting the water to get hot was a bit tricky
