We stayed four nights at Royal Empire Hotel to visit Angkor temples. For a family of three we had a very large and well furnished room with two queen size beds. The pool was nice with a good bar and snack service, and staff was friendlly. The Manager was extremely helpful in organizing our stay and visits to the temples with plenty of advice, as well as a small celebration for my wife's birthday. Very competitive rates, good value for money. Cleanliness and maintenance were not up to our expectations, and breakfast was chaotic. Food was not bad at the other meals but organization of the restaurant was poor, we had to wait long time to be serve and dishes arrived at different times. It was a shame as with a better organization the quality level could significantly raise both for the hotel and the restaurant. A new wing was under construction for the hotel therefore quite noisy during day hours.

Staff were very friendly and keen to impress and please. Communication between departments could be improved (eg front desk talking more to restaurant or spa to coordinate packages etc). Hotel also caters to massive tour groups and since they get up really early for the temples, there is a lot of noise quite early in the morning from people exiting rooms and walking between adjacent rooms and talking loudly.

We liked the complimentary and very reliable airport transfers, spacious and quiet rooms with adequate sound proofing even if our room was facing the main street. It's a perfect place to relax. Hotel had comfortable beds and not too soft pillows, rooms and lobby with free wifi. Hotel lobby was spacious armed with friendly and helpful English-speaking staff who greeted us with warm welcome.Check-in was a breeze. Free breakfast was delicious and had wide choice of oriental and western food including juices served in spacious area at first floor. Two PC's at business center in lobby provided free internet for guests without computers. If you want a hassle-free vacation go to Royal Empire Hotel! All these for a very reasonable price via booking.com! We will definitely go back! the free wifi connection in room was intermittent; connection at the lobby was better but needs improvement since most guests now need to be connected via email, facebook, etc.

Easy access from and to airport, readily available transportation to all touristic spots. Nice lobby- Bar- Dining room. Nice swimming pool. Sometimes crowded especially at times of departure for excursions. At least on one occasion, service was very slow at the bar.

Not much - the whole experience was marred by excessive charges and demands for large tips The first room I was given was very noisy - heavy building woks. Changed room but no reduction in costs. Lobby very noisy with large groups of shouting tourists who took no notice of inconveniencing others. The hotel is very expensive compared with others who are much more conveniently place near down-town area. The expensive room cost was increased by the cost of transportation. Everyone took advantage of the tourists charging excessively compared with downtown and demanding large tips - even quoting what was expected. Breakfast was poor especially if taken towards the end of the time allowance (eg between 9 and 10 am) - food was no longer fresh and in some cases had become plolluted and inedible eg fruit and yogurt had become 'fizzy' and when pointed out to the staff they merely removed it but did not rplace it
