Great pool, good size room and comfortable bed Continually getting asked if we were staying at the hotel when we wanted to use the pool! Over priced food and drinks campared to the rest of Siem Reap. Excessive charges when booking trips through the hotel, much cheaper in town.

Excellent value for the money you pay. Service in the hotel is in a very high level. I would also recommend this for the couples and families. Nice swimming pool, good location, shuttle bus service to/from the airport (if staying more than 3 night), good selection for the breakfast.

Staff very heplfull all the time, amazing breakfast and very special dance diner (for good value). Computer of the Hotel have virus and I all most lost all my pictures in there, but they have one specialist that save my pictures. When you arrive in the Aiport they will pic you up and will try to sell to go around the city and to go to floating market - but they do not say to you that floating market is 20 dolars more for each person and during dry season you can not go there... I do not recomend close to go there, enjoy Angork (go flotation market in Bangkok - much better and cheaper).

Staff tried to make amends for our troubles by reimbursing us for the taxi cab ride and massages. There was a mouse in my hotel room and the driver didn't pick us up (nor did he wait) from the airport.

Staff were very courteous. Breakfast had a lot of selections. Rooms were spacious and clean. Pool area was divine. Located just 5-10 minutes walk to Pub Street. Angkor Wat is just a 15-minute drive away. Also close to the airport. Saw and killed a bug in my room twice.

The location of this resort was perfect and overall,we were comfortable and well catered to.The breakfast buffet was good and pool area also. There could have been more umbrellas around the pool and we were caught out one morning not realizing that breakfast finished at 9.30 instead of the usual 10.30 I also feel that if the spa could have been cheaper and more accessible.

There had been sudden changes in my travel plans, so I booked at Somadevi the night before I arrived. During check-in I asked to book an additional night, but they were completely full. So, I asked if I could cancel my reservation so that I did not have to move again in the morning-- I had a tour booked for 6:30 A.M. The answer was no--I would have to pay for the room I had booked whether I stayed or not. I've been on the road in Southeast Asia for two months now, and I had never been treated with complete, corporate indifference. A couple of other observations: the hotel pool is lovely but it is also used to bring customers into the restaurant by giving them pool privileges. Incredibly, the pool closes at 8:00 P.M., which is two hours earlier than any other hotel I looked at. Breakfast is a mob scene of diners making trips to the buffet and beverage counter; staff is there to clean up but not assist. Somadevi is no relaxing spa retreat. It's a money machine. Leave it to the tour groups and go to one of the excellent small boutique hotels in Siem Reap where you will be treated like a guest.

The Somadevi Angkor is an excellent Hotel - My wife and I have stayed in all grades of rooms and found our stay very pleasurable from the free Airport pickup to the easy checkout. I would recommend it to all type of travelers. The only thing wrong with the hotel in 2013 is the building of an extension which occasionally is noisy.
