Clean, massive room with comfortable bed. Good size bathroom.
The hotel is being renovated, so it's a little annoying being woken up by banging and drilling, but not too bad for two nights.
Little noisy because of the neighboring construction.
Our stay at the Star Hotel was very pleasant. The staff really do their ultimate best to help their customers out. Room was comfy, but don't expect anything fancy! Everything worked. Value for money = excellent
This hotel was very comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was just north of downtown, but still walking distance to everything.
A little noisy during construction hours
The room, was very big and comfortable
In the middle of the city. Very very nice staff! They did everything to help us! Higly recomend the tuk-tuk tour that they do with their in house driver. The driver is well educated, very kind, speaks very good english. The room is very big. For only 15 $ per night you receive excelent service!!
I would recommend this hotel: location was good, just a 5 min walk to the centre spacious and clean rooms, wifi, TV, AC day shift very helpful Great value for money!
Worst thing was the taxi driver from the hotel who brought me to the Thai border - absolutely no communication possible, I wanted to see the Killing Fields before leaving Cambodia and I had asked the receptionist to arrange it. The end: the taxi driver didn't stop and I was deeply disappointed!
Everything was good about this hotel. Staff were efficient and the room was very clean and serviced every day. WiFi was excellent. We would stay here again. It was an easy 10 minute walk to the main restaurant and pub street but there were other restaurants closer by.
clean and big room
Everything was spot on including the breakfast which you have next door at the equally impressive sister hotel
The staff were most helpful, especially one young man, who especially took us down to the bus station.
The receptionist was super friendly. She ran to the fridge to give us bottles of water to take on the bus when we checked out, super lovely. It's very close to Capitol bus station so it's very handy to us. Also we discovered a local market nearby not shown in LP or local maps, v interesting in the morning.
The air con took a long time to start up...
Clean, friendly, had hot water and the air conditioning worked. Staff tried their best to help. Transfers: We hadn’t booked a transfer from the bus station to the hotel and were pleasantly surprised to see a tuk tuk driver waiting for us holding a card with our names on when we got off the bus. This made it easier because as the bus pulled up there were loads of tuk tuk drivers banging on the windows trying to get business. We also booked the tuk tuk driver to take us to the Bamboo train that afternoon and all agreed prices were honoured. We arranged our onward travel back to Siem Reap with the hotel and asked for the best bus company available as we hadn’t really had the best journey to Battambang and the hotel recommended the VIP bus company which was much better and the office was across the road.
Location: moped hire recommended (shop around for prices as hotel is more expensive). Main town good 10mins walk and on a night streets are like a ghost town, nobody around,no lights and unnerving. Only 1 member of staff spoke english and worked day shift. We asked for some washing to be done however, we noticed that all our clothes when they were returned had either blue cotton sewn into them or blue pen marks on them which doesn’t come off. Don’t send any good clothes for washing as we did as some of our clothes were defaced as a result of this.
Great staff, especially Rann Good sized rooms, including bathroom Good location Very comfortable beds
nice big room with 2 double beds, even though we book a room with 1 double bed.
I have hear something during the night, not sure what it was.
The hotel was nice overall, with good facilities and clean rooms. We asked for a discount because the toilet kept having issues with flushing, and they offered us a room with no aircon for only $10 a night- total bargain!
The toilet consistently didn't flush, and the staff didn't know how to fix it. There was very very loud construction on the adjoining wall to our room, and because it wasn't technically the same building they couldn't do anything about it. It was very annoying.
Staff were friendly and helped with trips. Comfortable bed. Great restaurant across the road!
The ridiculously loud and constant drilling, banging and hammering from the building site next door. This started at 7am and we couldn't even go back to the room to relax in during the day.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, tuktuk driver was great and nice big comfy bed.
Not right in centre but very close
Great bed. Nice room, good wifi, ac, cleaned every day. Good location short stroll to markets. Staff very friendly. Apologised for construction noise next door and gave me 2 bottles of water even though I hadn't complained.
Woken early by daily construction noise through my bedroom wall. Looks like it'll be going on for some time as whole building next door just a shell. Wasn't unbearable though. Just makes you go out and explore earlier ;)
-Furnishings are great -Good value for money -Offered a larger room but opted for a smaller room on the same floor as some companions as it was just one night, room was still very good. -Staff were very friendly -Very convenient location if you're taking the Capitol Tours bus -Room is exactly as pictured
-Hotel owner warned us of construction noise during the day (none at night). Noisy but not the fault of the hotel. -No restaurant, it is now closed, when looking for dinner was pointed at the Asia Hotel (same company, two minutes down the road) but got there and was told they're only open for breakfast. Dinner is very hard to find in the area. -Power points were in funny locations and high up, the Cambodian plugs don't stay in very well was very hard to keep consistent power to devices.
Central. Friendly and budget. Near bus station and local market.
No breakfast and no surprise. Can get better services and value for money hotel just next door with less price. No lift if you stay high floor with heavy luggage.
Awesome room for 15 dollar! Very clean as well. First thing they did when I checked in was informing me about the construction work next door and offering me a similar room in one of their other hotels (Asia and Royal); after checking out all the options I decided to stay here - the room was just too nice. Staff was really nice, especially the guys. Laundry was okay.
Airco was very loud. Location is a little off.
The staff was efficient and and friendly all the time. Highly recommandable. Price/value very good.
All was ok
Everything was good room wise and location is not too far from places to eat
The staff were all very nice but the night time staff didn't have great English. We were overcharged for laundry too which left a bitter taste in our mouths - make sure you see them weigh it if u want to use the service.
