The staff - which is relected in the Happy feel of the Hotel - most of the staff have been there a long time
There is in some cases a lack of attention to detail but does not detrct from the overall standard of the Hotel!!
Clean and spacious room. Located near the Pub Street and Night Market. Swimming pool! The pool and bar staff are friendly and helpful. Pretty decent breakfast options which can be enjoyed in the pool area.
There's just something lacking about the front desk staff - the SMILE! Seriously, they could smile a bit more since they're welcoming guests. Not really helpful about arranged tours either, they just gave us a paper to read over. Better go to other hostels for tour information (it's just way better and cheaper).
I loved the huge bed, clean bathroom, good front desk service, location of hotel was amazing, near the night and old market, Pub Street and walking distance to the Muslim area, for easy access to halal food. Outside the gates, we get a taste of the locals as well, and theres a convenient store few steps away.Id also recommend the travel agency nearby, Shi Hin Travels. They give good deals, and very well versed guides. I went for the Sunrise to Sunset visit to Angkor, and signed up for Tonle Sap tours as well.
I didnt like that the pickup from the airport assumed that we would hire him for the rest of the stay, and got angry and kept reminding us that he picked us up from the airport when we said that we dont want him. I prefer to look out for tour deals on my own, thus I believe the hotel should ensure that they pick the right drivers to work with them. When the hotel promised free shuttle from airport, it should be free, no strings attached.
location is awesome
food was terrible - couldnt even eat it. fortunately there is a blue pumpkin outside! be careful when booking in the coming months as they have started building next door which will make it noisy for sure
Nice accomodation for breakfast,yummy foods
The best thing this hotel has got going for it is the location, near the old market and pub street where you can easily walk to a plethora of bars, restaurants, spas and shopping galore. The next best thing is the pool area, the only area of the hotel that is properly maintained. It is a lovely, tranquil oasis with a large pool and Jacuzzi surrounded by lush landscaping and bas relief Cambodian artwork. and restaurant scene in the evening. The staff was polite and responsive. The internet connection was good and they did offer a good selection of TV channels, including English speaking channels.Mini fridges in the rooms were a plus. The beds were firm but adequately comfortable
Unfortunately these pluses did not overshadow the minuses. First off, don’t book a standard double room. The price is very economical but unless you’re a diehard backpacking kind of traveler on a strict budget it is not acceptable. There is only a bed, end table and table holding a clunky old TV set. No closet or armoire. You have to place your suitcases on the floor and live out of them. The bathroom does not have a shower curtain and is equipped with one of those dial a shower gadgets. This means that when you shower the entire bathroom is drenched! And the locations of these rooms face the noisy street. Needless to say we moved immediately into a deluxe room which doubled the price but it had a nice balcony overlooking the pool area and was adequately furnished with a proper bathroom. The rest of the property is in dire need of a facelift. A good coat of paint, polishing and repairing the neglected but once beautiful carved wooden doors would go a long way. The latches did not catch, locks didn’t work properly, toilet seats and faucet mounts were loose, the air conditioner leaked. Overall, the property’s appearance was shabby and drab. Regarding some negative comments from reviewers about cleanliness, I thought that the overall cleanliness was up to par but it is important not to confuse shabbiness with cleanliness. The linens and towels were clean but dingy. The towels were scratchy and rough. Not acceptable.Mediocre breakfast. I would not recommend this hotel at this time. As a previous reviewer pointed out, there are too many other places to stay that will deliver better quality and value for the price we paid. Competition in the mid range hotel bracket is fierce and if Tan Kang Angkor’s hotel management doesn't step up to the plate and make some improvements, they may lose business.
The hotel was located close to pub street.
We were disappointed with the hotel upon arrival. Had read the reviews and expected it to be a reasonable standard. Our bedroom was very small and the bed sheets had orange strains all over them. Have previously stayed in a hostel in siem reap which was a lot cheaper than this hotel which was much better than the hotel. Very disappointing. Toilet also didn't work properly. The photographs are not reflective of the rooms.
Pool and food
Given a room that was very small and not what we paid for . Room picture of what we would get wasnt what we received . Very deceiving photos of room . No where to put our clothes no bed side table . Broken fridge that was missing front temp dial . Couldnt adjust thermostat on aircon .Not good value and staff very uncooperative and rude especially front end staff and room staff . Overall a bad experience
The fact that a dump like that can still operate.
Location Pool Breakfast staff
bugs in the room lamps in the room pillows to big little space by the pool
Breakfast was great. The staff were very nice. Great location as the markets and pub street were very close by. They have their own tuk tuk and complimentary pick up service from the airport. Free use of computers in lobby and free lockers. Also the cold drink on arrival was lovely.
I like the place because it is very quiet even if it is located at the city center.
Although the staff are very friendly, I noticed that they don't assist senior citizens in bringing their luggages to their room. If only your hotel has an elevator then there is no problem. I stayed at the 4th floor with my mother and aunt who are on their 70's.
Excellent staff - very friendly and helpful. Great location.
Loved the wait staff they were so helpful and accomadating. A handy location.
The rooms are in need of an upgrade especially the bathrooms.
I just spent one night here as I must be back to Phnom Penh on a business trip. The hotel is located near Pub street and night market, just a 5-min walking. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a small swimming pool inside the hotel, so you can relax after a hard day dealing with hot weather in Siem Reap.
The batroom is old and somehow dirty, also with the refrigerator. There is no drink in the room. I think these things need some renovation. The breakfast is poor in term of food types - maybe I'm wrong since I just stayed for one night. All in all, this doesn't worth the price
Great location - walking distance from the Pub Streat and Night Market
Very poor wifi. Could not pay by Credit Card since "machine does not work". We paid in USD but the change was in local currency... We planned to check out at noon and stay in Siem Reap till the evening. Hotel did not provide facility to take shower before starting to the airport.
Staff in all areas of the hotel were excellent, friendly, helpful. Breakfast varied each morning during our 7 nights with plenty of options and quantity. Pool was cleaned while there. If you want 5 star stay elsewhere but for the price and location it was great and surprisingly quiet. Would definitely stay again.
Rooms could do with a good clean - dust bunnies under the bed, sheer curtains need wash. New towels would be nice too.
Very noisy from inside and outside, not very clean
Okay. In fairness not all the staff are bad the girl is lovely it was really just two of the guys they were always cheeky and I felt like they were trying to rob us. But the tuktuk driver johny is fabulous
Value for money
not very clean , very poor wi fi
The location is really ok as it's close to pub street and night life activities. WiFi works well and front desk staff tries to help whenever possible.
Breakfast is really poor especially if you don't like asian cuisine in the morning and prefer western breakfast. I requested airport pickup already at booking and then again via email one day before travelling to Cambodia and I got confirmation on my second day at the hotel. Standard room is very small and be prepared to fight some local insects. Linen was very old with a strange bad smell (like the towels too). No safe in room but at the hotel lobby (for free) - but I wouldn't call it a safe as it's more or less a box with a key. Oh - and the room cleaning staff clean the room when they want and not when you - as customer or guest - want.
The only good thing about this hotel is the location with a 2 minute walk to pub street
We stayed in a superior room which had dirty & stained sheets & a leaking bathroom. the staff were very creepy & we felt unsafe during our stay. As 2 girls we felt very intimadated here & couldn't wait to leave. I wouldn't stay here again & wouldnt recommend.
Big comfy bed, nice swimming pool and decent breakfast for the price
bad wifi connection - really slow
Pool, extra towels
Staff seemed to be very selfish and not really caring for their customers.
good location, friendl staff
Room seems a bit old. I didn't like the blanket it also seems old
