We came here and it was really dirty so didn't even spend the night there and moved to a hostel instead. Staff were nice but the room simply did not look like it did in the photos.
location was great, owner was very friendly and helpful. Tuktuk driver that the owner organised was great. Wifi was good. Great value for money.
I loved the owner. Giles was very helpful, he knows the area very well and gelped us with tickets and tuk tuks and all. The room was a good sized double, clean and with a fan that was really suffiecient. I did not feel the need to upgrade to an ac room and i am sensitive about that.
The room was a bit damp and dark. But in cambodia it kinda comes with the territory.
good location, friendly & helpfull staff.
AC & shower is a little problem
the location very near to pub street, but not noisy
the bathroom is too small and dirty
Great location! 3 mins walking to the old market and the pub street. The owner Gilles is very nice and helpful! Facilities is not the newest but worth the money. And I like the staff and the breakfast there! Very tasty :) Gilles can also arrange the tuk tuk for your trip to Angkor wat, and the price is very competitive and the driver is nice. Highly recommend this place!
The location - during the night.
I had booked for two nights and could not stay longer than one. Everything is dirty and old. The bathroom is the worst part. There was a makeshift drain hole in the floor (with exposed pipes) where the water goes away after you take a bath. The bed was unbelievable dirty and smelly. The location is a good thing after midday, before this you will have a misfortune of waking up with the insane noise coming from the primary school nearby. And the AC didn't work.
This hostel is run by a French expatriate really open and willing to help you. He gave me some really helpfull advice and introduced me his friends. I decided to stay one more day. The room is as you see it in the picture, and you are at 3 minutes walking from all the pubs, but you're not in the noise of all the center.
The owner was great. The location was good. Food and drink served there were as good as anything in siem reap. Owner arranged very good tuk tuk driver for me.
If you plan to stay out late at pub street it can be a little awkward getting back into the hostel, as they barricade it off from the street at about 10-11.
First and foremost we must mention Gilles and the other staff - all so lovely and helpful. Gilles had so many great tips from which ATMs to use, which temple tour may suit us best and was just so cool to talk to about life in Siem Reap and Cambodia in general. We felt welcome from his first email and he greeted us with a big smile and showed us around the room. Which was really homely - comfy bed, hot shower, cool air con and nothing but the sounds of children playing next door (a school perhaps?). The pizzas cooked at the guesthouse were amazing! Perfect location just a few minutes walk to pub street and the market, but away from the noise and busy main road. Great value for money. We will be back if we are in Siem Reap again for sure!
It was all great :)
We enjoyed the stay at Dancing Frog. Gilles was very friendly. He gave us lots of good advice on food, restaurant and the route to the temples.
The owner, Gilles, is very accommodating, hands-on, and very helpful to curious/naive guests. He'll refer you to the best tuktuk driver in town, Samnung. And there's the Iced coffeeeeeeee with milk.
We thought the location was perfect and the owner, Gilles, is a really nice bloke who knows what to do around the area. a few minutes walk from Pub Street. Basic rooms.
mattress was terrible, about 2 inches thick so you could feel the wood you were lying on. Two giant cockroaches welcomed us into the room, lots of rubbish behind the curtains still.
Room was simple, but clean and well organized. Location is perfect (3 minutes from the night market and pub street). Wi-fi working very well. The owner was incredibly kind in helping organizing the trip and especially avoiding traps for tourists. He even sent some basic indications right after booking. Personally, one of the most pleasant experiences I can remember. Excellent value for money.
The owner was very friendly and let us keep our bags in a safe place after check out.
The location is near the city center but the road is not very well lit. For the price, there weren't very many facilities. We checked out at the right time and came back in the evening to take our bags to the airport, and later realised we had accidentally left a few items in the room, I don't see why they didn't bother to return them to us.
Very well-run. Daily cleaning. Owner is very friendly and helpful. The hostel has some recommended tuk-tuk drivers that won't rip you off. Highly recommended.
Good location, good price, Everything is good.
The owner was very helpful
The sheets or room weren't very clean.. Too many bugs in the room!
The owner was a very big help and friendly
Our need smelled like poop.... Actual poop and it was impossible to sleep
Friendly and helpful staff clean room, decent bathrom
Gilles, the owner, was very helpful. He was very facilitative on getting a tuktuk driver who knows enough of the places to go in siem reap.
The room was not very clean, particularly the CR. The pillow smelled so bad. It needs maintenance and reconstruction.
Really familiar environment, i felt like at home. The host, Gilles, is so nice, you can have a meal with him. Also they can take you the food to your room or book some travel with them. He gave me his local phone to make some calls. Wifi is working good. Its just 3 min walking to the pub street or the old market. They picked me up from the airport. The food is really good and cheaper than in other restaurants (i loved the chips!!!!)
Maybe some fridge on the room would have been nice, but just saying
The owner was very helpful, he has good conections to "fair" tuktuk drivers for trips! The Center is a short Walk away ( Pub Street, Night market,...). Would come again!!
I enjoyed my stay at the "Dancing Frog Hostel" very much. It has a good location, only a three minutes walk away from the market, and the rooms are simple but nice. The staff was absolutely helpful. The owner gave us many information and helped us a lot, for example finding the right tuctuc driver to go to Angkor, renting bikes etc. He cares a lot about his guests and I felt very welcomed. I would definitely recommend it to anybody who wants to go to Siem Reap.
The service was excellent. He works together with great tuk tuk drivers. Very reliable and friendly. The hostel is located in walking distance to the pub street. Pick up service from airport. We were 3 girls staying for 2 nights and would 100% recommend it!
