Tuk tuk driver is also working in hotel. Is very good and friendly!
The location was fantastic - in the heart of the old market area and by all the restaurants and activity. The staff were amazing. They were very helpful and went out of their way to make my stay comfortable.
Gets a little noisy at night because of all the bars and restaurant activity around
It was very centrally located
The karaoke coming from somewhere nearby until the wee hours.
In a motorbike free pedestrian alley replete with loads of restaurants between the Old Market and Pub street the location can't be beaten for Siem Reap. You might expect the noise from nightclubs to be a problem but surprisingly it did not worry us at all. The standard room we booked was small but comfortable with good A/C.
!) Information supplied on Booking.com contains misrepresentations-standard rooms do NOT have balconies and our room was at most 12m2 not 20m2 as advertised. This needs to be corrected on the Booking.com site. 2) The shower and basin are at the end of the bed with no dividing wall or partition to separate from the bedroom. A strange curtain and hook arrangement is provided for those who need privacy when showering or dressing (not my property but I would put up some aluminium shutters and a sliding door). 3) On the couple of times we visited the roof top terrace it was not set up with chairs but we could see how it would be very enjoyable if we had been able to use it. Having said all this we enjoyed our stay and would stay again. After all we were looking for well located, good value accommodation while we trekked around the temples and that is what The Purple Mangosteen provided.
Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and good location. A great gin and tonic too!
The location is fantastic. Inspite of being in the center of the old market and night tourist activity the room was very quiet. Breakfast is not provided but a near by coffee shop Blue Pumpkin has excellent breakfast. Staff hotel was very responsive-my air conditioner stopped working. The fan was provided immediately and the next day the ac was fixed.
A very nice designed boutique hotel. Very friendly staff, also capable of speaking german and italian. Lovely roof terrace. I origanally planned to stay for three nights, at the end it were five nights. It is not a quiet place, but you know that before when you book a hotel in the middle of a tourist town. Reasonable prices, a clear recommondation
what made this stay better was stuffs. Even room was a bit expensive compared with the price, helpful and ｗ armful stuff made me feel like that was worth to pay. You probably can't sleep well if you're sensitive toward noise.
-Location -attitude of hotel stuffs -room
-No elevator -unbeleabable dranker's crazy song from karaoke club next to this hotel until midnight everyday. Inpossible to sleep!! -Taxi cannot come to this hotel due to too narrow road in front of this hotel
The complimentary late check out was really nice. The tuktuk driver assigned to us was very polite and helpful. The hotel is in the middle of everything, very convenient.
The furniture and facility were pretty new. I loved the location, major sight seeing places at night was walking distance. The owner was very friendly!
The hotel was located in a smal alley so it was difficult for tykutuku drivers to find the place. It would have been even better if breakfast was included.
It's noisy! So if you're a light sleeper, bring your earplugs
The staff very very friendly and helpfull.. the location is so great with surrounding shopping places and place to eat. The cleaniness of the room so awesome. The wifi very strong. Its just walking distance to night market. And for muslim traveler its not hard to find a halal food. U just can take tuk tuk and ask them to bring u to the nearer halal restaurant. Overall... i am so pleased staying here... and for sure i'll come again to stay..
Located in the city center, this hotel is of best location as well as quality services. A free pick up at the airport is provided to customer. The boss of the hotel is nice and she is willing to chat with customers. Sometimes I just walk along the road but missed the entrance, some staff of the hotel can even remember me and tell me I missed the entrance. Highly recommended for you!
*Modern and clean rooms with a good shower and facilities *Friendly & helpful staff. Happy to arrange everything for you, like transport. *Located in a nice street with a lot of restaurants and bars (try the bar opposite of the hotel, very nice) *Very nice design of the hotel, different than other buildings.
*There was a bad smell in the room *Yes there is some noise from pubstreet, but after a day visiting temples you will sleep like a rose.
The location is excellent.
No swimming pool in this hotel((
great location staff were very helpful and helped organise our trip to Angkor Wat our AC broke when we arrived but they were really good and gave us extra fans etc
Location is perfect! The room we had was clean and spacious (1 double bed & 1 small bed), facing the small alley (which is quiet at night). Wifi in the room is fast enough. This hotel is also a small pub but I don't see outsiders sitting in the lounge. They even provide free pickup from Airport, just email them in advance.
There's a narrow spiral stairs up to your room, can be dangerous if you are carrying big luggages. However the staff will always be there to help you.
- Convenient location to Pub Street/ Old market. - Very spacious and comfy room with 2 twin beds & 1 double bed. - Comes with wifi, and u can borrow a dvd player. - English-speaking staff. - No breakfast, which is not an issue. - Security cameras on each floor and they will lock up the place when all the guests are back - Peaceful and able to get a good night s rest - Many strategic power points around the room I would go back to this hotel if i m back at siem reap.
- steep/narrow staircase (inconvenient if u r carrying a large/heavy luggage) - was filled with cooking smell along the staircase. Luckily, it didnt get into the room
Fantastic location and the hosts are a great source for advice on what to do and see.
It is near Put street and convenient.
The facilities is good except the air-con is leaking.
The location was great, markets, food, mini marts all nearby. The room was very clean and comfortable. Tuktuks right outside the hotel so it was easy to get around to all the attractions. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Especially grateful to them for helping us to communicate and arrange with the night bus company to help change our night bus arrangements at the last minute as one of my travelling companions had fallen ill and we had to stay an additional day in siem reap.
This was simply the best hotel we could have possibly chosen to stay at in Siem Reap. HANDS DOWN. The lobby was cozy and comfortable, the staff was so helpful and did everything with a smile, the room was beautiful, and LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. It's perfectly nestled in a quite, cute, alleyway that leads to the greater fun to be had in on Pub Street. In other words, you get the best of both worlds: peacefulness but access to the fun! There was no other street within the city that was equally as quiet that was situated smack dab in town. There's also a spectacular rooftop from which you can order delicious cocktails and watch the stunning Cambodian sunset. Glorious.
Nothing. It was spectacular.
