The peaceful atmosphere Staff Breakfast Quiet place A true boutique hotel
Sorry but nothing to write here.
Quiet place, amazing breakfasts, great staff, super clean, beautiful rooms.
No really a complaint, but a little far from downtown, if that's what you want. Wasn't an issue for me as I took a tuk tuk everywhere.
Quiet location midway between Siem Reap town and Angkor park. Tasteful decor creating a tranquil feel. Large rooms with beautiful furniture and spacious bathroom. Small but lovely pool. Free facial during your stay. AMAZING FOOD! If you like boutique hotels, Samar Villas is a fine choice.
The girl giving the facial was inept and had to stop the treatment. However, the manager kindly compensated with a free massage instead, this time by a skilled therapist.
nice rooms big pool attentive lady on reception to organise trips
breakfast - the bread and pastries aren't fresh and too oily A/C - we needed to change room because the A/C didn't cool our first room.
Stayed here originally for 2 nights during our 3 month trip around SE Asia, as a surprise for my boyfriends birthday. Upon arrival, we were immediately upgraded for free, and shown to the most stunning villa ever! I had emailed the hotel with a few requests for my boyfriends birthday (cooking class in the morning, followed by massage and romantic dinner in the evening) and everything was put together perfectly for us. They effortlessly organised a tuk-tuk to and from town, as well as a day around the temples. The French owner was lovely to us, even extending our stay for an extra two nights for a bargain price as the hotel was quiet. The staff were attentive but not in an overbearing way. The bed was the comfiest bed I've ever slept in...felt like sleeping on a cloud! All in all, we had a fantastic stay and would happily recommend Samar to anyone staying in Siem Reap who are looking for a little luxury hotel!
One small niggle- the cookery class could have been a bit more hands on, and it did seem to be expensive for what you got.
The staff were lovely and attentive. It was luxurious and it felt like family. I would thoroughly recommend this relaxing retreat hotel to anyone looking to chill out and be pampered. Their restaurant menu was amazing and the breakfasts were delightful.
The hotel is kind enough to understand our delayed connecting flight, which directly affected our arrival dates, and agree to not charge us with any cancelation fees. Some compliments sent to our hotel. Hotel staff is always wearing a smile and help us to look after our luggages even we have checked out. The hotel is very nicely decorated, you can feel the artistic Touch that lies in the details, so for ppl who enjoys a nice and quiet environment, it would be a good choice.
As informed by local drivers, the hotel is a newly opened one and might not be well known from drivers. Besides the location is less favorable than the other ones which are easy to find nor it is near to the night market and pub street. Breakfast could use a little diversity. Wifi is slow, could read news but not easy to watch vedios. As the owner has both FU NAN Restaurant as well as the hotel, and he has closed the former and moved the restaurant as an In house restaurant for the hotel, where we had two days of dinner. Different from the recommendation reviews from some of the tourism brochures, my personal opinions are the food is overrated and over priced. On the day of our first arrival, our tour guide is briefing us the schedules with a bit of loud voice that he's not aware of, the owner demanded him to be quiet and even though we have aplogized with a smile, we are not reciprocated with the same courtesy. All in all, we hope for more understanding and warm hospitality.
