Daelim Residence  

A home away from home. It had everything you needed for an extended stay. The resturant next door was excellent. Transport , supermarket and airport bus were all a few metres away. A great place to stay!

After being shown to our room, we waited for the staff member of Daelim Residence to leave before jumping up and down with excitement. This place has it all and at a great price. From a full kitchen and fridge (complete with more utensils and appliances than you could need) to plug adapters and toiletries, we were more than pleased with the amount care and detail put into everything. On our second day, the owner of the residence had not met us so he personally came over to see how we were doing and what our plans were for the day and then offered his help. He even exchanged money for us at near market value. They also provided services, which we did not utilize but could see the value in (such as portable wifi for those with smart phones of laptops at a nominal fee). Each room was also equipped with a computer and a nice TV and the heated floors kept everything cozy. As if there couldn't be more, each floor had a filtered water dispenser and there was free hot chocolate and coffee downstairs that was a delicious start to every morning. I am sure that I missed a few positive things because there were so many that I can only remember the ones I have listed thus far. One last thing, on our way out to the airport it was raining (more like a drizzle) and we were offered a ride to the bus stop, which we politely refused since it is a 3 minute walk. What happened next amazed me. He handed us an umbrella (full well knowing we would not return) and told us it was complimentary. I have never seen something like that in the 17 countries I have visited. That is what I call service!

This is more of a note rather than a complaint. The airport bus drops you off in a place where you cannot see the Daelim Residence sign. If you backtrack a bit on the road to the corner and look around you will see a huge glowing sign. After you spot this, you should be good. The subway to most places in the city only takes 20-25 minutes and runs regularly and costs roughly 1 USD each way. Don't let a 25 minute subway ride detract you from staying at this truly wonderful place.

Location. Within walking distance to subway station. AK Plaza is nearby. Airport bus stop beside the plaza.

Daelim Residence is old and not well maintained. The temperature in the room cannot be adjusted, it was too hot for comfort so was the shower. It was a very uncomfortable stay for us.

Personal attention, compact and complete, great connections to city and airport

It's very friendly in terms of staff, location and room. Internet access is excellent. Food in hotel restaurant reasonably priced and delicious. We will definitely return.

It's location is not very near the town centre but otherwise Daelim is a A++ accommodation for the price paid.

ROOM and service

The room is constantly kept clean and tidy. It is also an ideal place to stay for long trip as there is washing machine with detergent and softener provided inside the rooms. The price is also reasonable as the location is good and the room is very spacious.

Safe & Neat place. Mr Jung, the owner, is very helpful and accommodating. My friend and I stayed for a night at Daelim and early next morning, we need to reach the airport by 7am. Mr Jung directed us the other night on how to go to the airport etc. But he was very nice, in the morning as it was raining, he drove us to the nearest airport shuttle bus with shelter as the one he directed us nearby his place do not have one. We are very glad he took the initiative and we can tell he is very helpful and kind. Thank you Mr Jung! - Teng Ee & Hui Ying

No!!nothing.

It's so comfortable as we are really at home, and the staffs are very kindly to every guests, the room is neat and tight very suitable for relaxing and self travel. We can't wait the next time to there again!

It is incredible value for money, and the service and care from staff was immense. The facilities were very good and tidy, our deluxe room had 2 queen size beds and was quite large, there was also an office space with PC and desk, free wifi for multiple devices. There was a washing machine and dryer and they supplied detergent and softener, a kitchen with pot pans cutlery and bowls etc, a large fridge/freezer, as well as shampoo/conditioner/bodywash dispenser in the shower. There is a very nice Chinese fusion restaurant there, we ate there several times, our favourites were the black bean noodle dish, the Beef with Bell Peppers, and the Sweet and Sour Pork. Daelim Residences is located about 2 minutes walk from AK Plaza ( a very nice dept store) and the Guro Subway station which is right next to AK. AK Plaza has 8 levels with a food court and supermarket at B1 and Restaurants at L7. There are lots of quality brands on sale there. There are plenty of bargains to be had on B1 and L1, so look for them! Cafe Tiamo on B1 had the best coffees and gelatos. We used the subway alot and it is very safe, efficient and really cheap to use. Look up youtube for tips on how to use it if you are not sure...p00lman has a great video on it. On the last day it rained, so without asking, Mr Jang's right hand man took our bags and family of four in their van and drove us to the airport bus stop that had rain cover (which wasn't the one next to AK). I can't imagine any other place doing this for us. I also highly recommend using the 6003 airport bus, it is cheap (~$8 US per person) efficient and the bus stop is right next to AK Plaza which is a 2 minute walk, Mr Jang will email instructions on this once you book. Did I mention the unlimited free hot chocolates and coffees from Daelim's vending machine as well as filtered water dispensing machines on every floor to refill your water bottles? A shopping tip..

While it is not close to the heart of the city. It is only about 30 mins away by subway (which we did alot, ~ $1.40 US per person each way) or about ~$15 US by taxi.

This place is like living in a home away from home! it has everything you would need!! `a washer and dryer---with laundry detergent for your use `stove top, with pots and pans to use (no oven) `cutlery and cooking utensils `dish soap and wash cloth `tv with cable `computer with fast internet access `shower (no tub) with body wash, shampoo and conditioner provided `toothbrushes and toothpaste free to use (new and packaged) `towels provides however they are small `hair brush, hair dryer and hair gel provided `closet with hangers (only 4 hangers though) `vaccuum in room `fridge with freezer `microwave `airconditoning---you can controll the room temp `24 hour access in and out of the hotel `safe area `quite rooms `close to a large shopping centre with groceries in the bsmt, and about 10 min walk away from an emart. we would without a doubt, come back to this hotel!! `subway access at Guro station about 3 min walk

daelim residence was PERFECT for travelers on a budget. close to the subway, a mall, and supermarket. cozy rooms and wonderful service. loved staying here and will absolutely be back!

Daelim Residence make me feel like home maybe is because the room are almost fully furnish with small kitchen where i can do little cooking and washing machine is important to me during summer where i can wash my clothes almost everyday.I enjoy staying in this studio apartment. Location is not too far from the sub-station and not too hard to find our way, from subway exit 1 try look far you able to see Daelim because he is sited up the hill. Chinese restaurant just at the downstairs and a few eating house is around the corner you just need to do some explored to the area. Not too expensive for taking a cab from Daelim to Seoul station cost about 9600Won if you find difficulties carry your luggage to train station as there is no lift in Guru station that can access to the subway platform. You need to carry your luggage up the staircase. I will still choose Daelim again for my next trip.

House keeping still have rooms to improve as we encounter cleaner forget to refill our toilet paper and totally run off in the night. One of the day forget to clear the rubbish bin or maybe the bin not full so no need to clear??

Superb personal service from the owner. Everything is made easy, even our transfer to another hotel is taken care of, free of charge. That is a big plus of this hotel! Excellent!

Hard mattress, but the heating system (ondol) is nice.

Après un fort agréable séjour au Daelim Residence, je voudrais remercier Mr Jang, Mr Kim ( réceptionniste de jour ) et Mr Kim ( réceptionniste de nuit ) pour leur grand service. Ces personnes là connaissent vraiment la notion de service ! a très bientôt !

во первых хочется сразу сказать,когда мы приехали,нас приветливо встретили,все показали и объяснили,правда жестами:)особенно как пользоваться туалетом,мы поняли не сразу:)каждый день номер убирали,меняли постельное белье,вода,чай,кофе,каждый день обновлялись!ванные принадлежности также полотенца все было в номере безплатно!очень уютно,тихо,спокойно,все улыбаются!так же приятно,что приезжих фотографируют,в канверте на следующий день на память дарят фотографию!очень вежливый,внимательный хозяин,идет на встречу,могли оставить чемоданы до вечера,хотя наше прибывание в отеле истекло еще с утра,так же отвез на своем микроавтобусе с чемоданами до остановки!самые положительные впечатления остались от местоприбывания!

Eigenlijk niets. Handdoeken zijn in zakdoekformaat :mogen wel wat groter !!!!!

房间干净整洁，设施齐全，到的飞机比较早也能提前入住，老板很nice为客人考虑的很周到，离地铁和机场巴- 士的公交站都很近

唯一的不好就是每次去景点或是购物都要坐半小时的车
