Hill House Myeongdong    

Very pleasant and helpful staff speaking good English. Breakfast is the same every morning but the lady preparing eggs and toasts make it unforgetable experience. Thank you and we will stay here next time again.

Room was spacious and clean. Staff were friendly and spoke good English. The location is reasonably close to a metro station but quiet neighborhood. The breakfast was simple (egg and toast) but served its purpose. Non-Korean tv channels were also available and the wifi in the room worked well enough.

We didn't like that double bed had only one shared blanket. In practice there's no window in the room, as the window had a fixed covering.

The reception staffs are friendly and can communicate in English.

The breakfast lady has a bad tempered attitude.

Good location, 5 min walk to metro station, good value for money, clean, fairly comfortable, hot breakfast, within walking distance to Namsan park (worth a hike).

Fried eggs for breakfast every day - it's good but after 2 days you crave for something else.

A little far from bus station

Friendly staff, good location (so long as you can manage the steep hill), very good value, comfortable bed, relatively quiet location

Room lighting was not the best, very few working English speaking TV channels, very little storage space

The location is near to places such as Myeongdong, Namdaemun. It is also near to n Korea Tower which makes it very convenient to move around. Train station is nearby.

For tourists who likes to walk, the location is certainly not ideal though is it only a couple of hundred metres away from Hoehyeon subway.

- the breakfast was every day the same (two toasts, two eggs, butter, 1x strawberry jam) - the bed was a bit hard for me

The hotel has obviously put a lot of thought and effort into making the rooms and facilities appealing. It has the feel of a smart boutique hotel, although in some cases the design is at the expense of functionality. For example, there is a touch panel to control lighting in the room, but thats the only place to turn lights on or off, so you have to get out of bed to turn the lights off! My room was a twin (only type available when I booked) with a very large bathroom but no wardrobe or clothes storage. Everything needed for a comfortable stay was provided, right down to toothpaste, shaving foam and hair gel. The room had underfloor heating and the beds had electric blankets - both very much appreciated as the outside temperatures were below zero most of the time. Breakfast was great - 2 fried eggs, 2 slices of toast, butter, jam, orange juice and coffee. There was some side salad type stuff as well if you wanted it. No variety and no buffet options, so I can imaging it could get boring and some may not feel there is enough choice, but for me it was great as fried eggs are my favourite breakfast food - and they were always very expertly prepared by a lovely lady with a great character.... Just don't be late for breakfast!!! you have been warned! Good location close to Seoul Station (15min walk). The market area, shopping area and Seoul Tower are all within walking distance if you enjoy exploring a city on foot. Plenty of food and convenience store places nearby.

Staff spoke enough English but really only provided a minimum level of service with little interest in customer needs. On checkout day, the phone rang at 12:01 just as I was finishing packing. You have to do everything by the rules at this hotel - it runs like clockwork! Having said that, it did make the hotel very efficient and did not really detract from my stay. Difficult to find as others have said, so make sure you do your homework if trying to find on foot, or take a taxi!

Budgeted, good located

Breakfast can be better. It contained egg and bread only.

Excellent location, can walk to lots of places and the subway station is really close, even with luggage it's not a problem. The neighbourhood is really nice and it's extremely quiet considering you are in the center of the city.

the room has no power switches. you can either disconnect it all - lights and A/C, or have it all on.

Great location once you have found it! Close to the underground and main shopping area. Close to restaurants and shops. Great sized room and huge bathroom which was kept very clean by the staff. Clean towels daily. Staff all very friendly and spoke good basic english!

Breakfast was slightly basic if staying for longer periods of time.

The hotel is close to the Sky Tower, so good for a vigorous walk if you need exercsie. It is also only 10 minutes walk from the central station and close to everything. It is in a quiet street and you can't hear the other guests so you'll sleep well. The lady who makes the breakfast is fantastic! Lively and chatty no matter what mood some of the other guests are in. I do recommend this hotel.

Well priced and located close to markets and public transport. Big room and bathroom. Free Wi-Fi. Free security storage of valuables and ability to leave bags after checking out.

Friendliness & helpfulness of staff. Both receptionists spoke good English, having previously spend time in Australia. Bed was quite comfortable,better than some others stayed at in Korea.

I have booked a Deluxe Double Room but they give me a Superior Double Room which should be cheaper, and as i arrived very late night no chance to complain just want a place to get rest

Wifi at room. Spacious. Big and comfortable bed. Huge LCD TV with choice of many stations both international and local. Nice bathroom with full set of cleaning amenities. Quiet neighbourhood. Romantic lighting.

No confidence in security - reception will give room key without checking the identity of the guest and no proper space for luggage storage (kept in a fully open area in front of the reception with no tag). Quite a walk uphill from the nearest underground station. Solicitations from nearby brothels on the way during late night. Breakfast is boring with the same simple menu everyday - bread and eggs.
