Room equipment, very spacious room.
calm, cheap, clean
Great location which is very near to Bulguksa!
No English motel name outside the building made it difficult to identify the motel.
The Hill Motel is just a short stroll from the bus stop for Bulguksa, the main reason why people come here in bus loads. It is near to many eateries with english menus and local convenience stores so there is no need to worry about food. It appears to be a family business, so I met only an old lady and gentleman who I assumed to be a couple. They do not really speak English but I had no problems checking in. Rooms are huge and clean, with large bath tub, bed, and tv. There is also a water machine in the room that dispenses hot and cold water.
My only gripe is the central heating which was a bit too warm for me but I suppose I may be the exception here and others may appreciate the warmth in colder seasons.
Large room, easy to find, free parking
Dated decor, a bit dirty (hairs in bathroom, and on towels).
Spacious room, large bathroom with bathtub, rain-shower and steam-sauna. We also had our own hot/cold water purifier and a small refrigerator. The towels were changed every day. The entire place looks well-maintained and clean. Very friendly and helpful staff; the oldest son of the family speaks English quite well. Lots of small restaurants to eat within a few minutes. As the name suggests the motel is situated on a hill, about 5 minutes walking distance from the Bulguksa temple. Buses to Gyeongju (10 and 11) run approximately every 10 minutes.
Not much of a view when looking out the window. The panel for controlling the lights needed some experimenting as the descriptions were only in Korean, but once you figure it out you're fine. Other than that, absolutely nothing.
