Sutton Hotel Myeongdong    

Sehr zentral gelegen mit guter Anbindung zur Euljira 3 ga Station, von wo man schnell zur Central Station oder auch nach Itaewon gelangt. Myeongdong ist in 10 Minuten zu Fuss zu erreichen. Hotel ist sehr gepflegt und relativ modern eingerichtet.

Umgebung des Hotels eher Backpacking als Erholung. Straßen sehr schmutzig, Haushaltswarengeschäfte.

Bei der Anreise bestand der junge Rezeptionsmitarbeiter sofort auf Zahlung des Gesamtbetrages (6 Nächte) obwohl meine Kreditkarte als Garantie hinterlegt war. Er gab uns nicht einmal die Chance Geld zu wechseln und buchte den Betrag von meiner Kreditkarte ab___On the arrival the young reception staff (man) was immediately on Full payment (6 nights) although my credit card was deposited as a guarantee. He's not even give us a chance to change money and pay cash. He charged my credit card directly

Quite near to the subway, within 5 mins walk. The surroundings are pretty quiet compared to the shopping streets.

Not really located near any shopping amenities. But since it is pretty accessible to the subway so it's not Realli a big problem.

The equipment is new and top. Hotel seems to be better than 3 Star. Everything very good.

I think the hotel staffs have been pretty courteous and they can speak good english. Thus, they are able to help us in most ways.

on the date of departure, we booked the limo taxi via the hotel (Kim's Travel). Everything was alright until we reached Incheon Airport, the driver quickly unloaded our stuffs and drove off before we could even checked whether we have taken all our belongings. Unfortunately, my husband's gloves were left on the taxi and we called back the hotel to contact the driver. Yet the driver sounded annoyed and kept denying that there is anything left in the taxi. We are totally quite pissed off by such dishonesty. I believe we have done our due dilligence to look for a telephone booth and made a call to contact the driver in order to retrieve the newly bought gloves (nice design), yet the driver didn't want to take the trouble to come back to return the gloves. It was only 5-10 mins from the time we alighted. I would recommend tourists not to take the Kim's travel and book their own taxi instead.

the temperature of air conditioner can't be adjusted, the room temperature almost reached 30'C (outside was 1X'C) but the staff told us that we could only open the air bank to let fresh air come into the room... few hair were found on a towel which supposed to be clean.... the transport time of shuttle bus from hotel to Seoul station was too long, at least took 30min more than subway... the safe was not workable, couldn't be locked...

Hotel is very comfortable, clean.

Location is not very appealing because the surrounding area is very noisy at night.

This hotel was close and convenient to all major tourist destinations. I walked everywhere, but the subway was very close and is easy to use.

Not very soundproof. It seemed like water being used anywhere in the building could be heard in my room - very annoying during the night.

Staff are very friendly and can speak English and Japanese. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. We had some minor problems with one of the room and the staff responded quickly and fixed the problems. Hotel location is only 5 mins walk from subway station but it may not be very safe to walk alone late at night as this is in an industrial area and the shops are closed after office hours.

The triple room was really too small for the amount we paid for.

the bidet toilet and heated seats were a plus. and the friendly breakfast buffet every morning was super.

1. Stayed 3 nights from end March to early April. Got an excellent deal for a terrace room so it was really good value for money. 2. Some reviews said there wasn't much variety in the buffet breakfast but we had no complaints. It's breakfast so we certainly didn't expect a banquet spread. The local porridge at breakfast was a soothing option when my husband had some tummy trouble the night before. 3. Room was big by Seoul standards, but still rather compact - not even enough space for a suitcase rack so there was none. Loved the warm toilet seats which helped in early spring when temps were still quite low. Shower water pressure is excellent - I just hate it when I get weak sprays. 4.Hotel staff speak English and were helpful enough. We arrived early in the morning and they let us stow our luggage so we could go sight seeing and check in only in the late afternoon. They gave us useful advice on the best way to get to certain places of interest. 5. Hotel is not located in a pretty area but it felt safe and it was interesting to see the kinds of ware sold in the hardware shops - gives a real perspective into the lives of Koreans. Subway station is just around the corner from the hotel - so accessibility was great. Still, we walked to Easter mass at Myeongdong Cathedral and even walked from the Namsangol Folk Village in Jongno. All very manageable distances and I am a totally sedentary being in my usual life! 6. No problem with our sheets being changed - you just have to place the tent card on the bed to indicate that you want the sheets changed. 7. Free shuttle to and from Seoul Station was great. There were several others checking out the day we checked out and I thought there was no way we, and all our big suitcases, could get onto the bus but we all did. The bus driver helpfully hoisted the luggage on board and stacked them up in the front. 8. Free wifi throughout the hotel was really fast. 9.

1. The wooden deck terrace was almost the same size as the room. Would have been great if some of that space could be taken into the room. It was useless for us since it was still too cold to be out there for any length of time. Even in summer, the view would not be that pretty though we could see Namsan Tower from our room. 2. The hotel is still new but there was already some stains on the carpet which was a pity. 3. Be careful when using the washbasin. It's one of those new, bowl types not built into the counter but sitting on it. Not very practical if you wash vigorously as the water will splash over the side and flood the counter top. Or if you turn on the tap at full force by accident, the water actually splashes straight out onto the floor.

The location. It's steps from the subway. The hotel is really clean and staff are really friendly.

The location. The hotel is in an alley, even the cab driver had problems getting there. Also, as Sutton Seoul is nearby, most people mistake it for Sutton Myeongdong. It is also quite far from the shopping area. I like hotels near the vicinity of shopping areas so I can drop my bags at the hotel or get a quick rest before continuing with my spree. Also, good luck if you get the munchies in the middle of the night. It's room service (though I didn't check what time they offer till) or nothing. There's a 7-11 in the basement but it's only open till midnight. There are no food stalls nearby and all around the hotel are furnishing shops (sinks, toilets, lighting, etc). So, it can get quite deserted at night.

Very convenience location.

The 3-bed room is screamly narrow, if you have 3 big lugguages, don't stay at this room type. Better find another spacious room at other hotel.

New and clean. Staff are polite and help. Hotel is very close to the subway.

Location is a bit weird as it's in the middle of hardware shops area, quite difficult for our airport taxi to find 4. difficult to find Muslim food. we had to travel to Itaewon to get some as that's the only area where we could find many halal foods as the Seoul Central Masjid is located there

Comfortable, quite rooms, fairly large tv with a few English channels, heated toilet seat, fairly good breakfast, pleasant staff, 7-11 in the basement. Take bus 6015 from Incheon Airport and get off at the Royal Hotel stop, or the one after it (Best Western)

It is good that they had a bath tub, though it is quite small and has an uncomfortable very square shape for sitting in. It is annoying that you can't open the window - there are small vents though so you do get some fresh air from outside. Somewhat difficult to find - most maps don't even show the small street it is on - I found it by putting the co-ordinates into a gps App on my iPhone.

Sutton Hotel Myeongdong was excellent value for money, especially at triple sharing. We had the comforts of a hotel at such a low price. It's a block away from Euljiro-3-ga Station and two blocks away from Cheonggyecheon Stream. Not precisely at Myeongdong but a brisk 10 to 15- minute walk will get you there.

Euljiro-3-ga is not a pretty neighborhood. It's full of hardware stores selling tiles and doorknobs. There are people drinking at pojangmachas all over the place. I hated leaving and coming back to the hotel. Good thing the metro station is close.
