Astra Hotel    

Nice room. Better than expected. The room we took looks like has been newly renovated, nice shower, daily cleaning. The WiFi internet connection was pretty decent and fast. The restaurant loacted within the hotel offered good food.

Nothing specific.

The people who work in this hotel are very nice. Because I am a Chinese and do not know any Russian. They help me a lot. This hotel can also send the food ordered from the restarant. It locates near the train station. It takes about twenty minutes to reach the airport by taxi. But it is pretty quite. 一个比较不错的酒店!

I hope the hotel can place a electric pot in each room. Then we do not need to ask the need of hot water again and again.

İt was nice to have fitness and pool for good price ,as difficult to find hotel at almaty. Also good advantage to have restaurant in the hotel. Good breakfast served. Thanks.

Most of the staff and receptionists were great. I appreciated the fitness center. The laundry service was quick and done correctly. Great location.

Car service was very expensive! The doors to the room are too thin and people talking in the corridor at night can be heard very clearly - too loud. Also, the doors to the rooms vibrate and make noise every time another door is opened in the hallway - I had to put a towel under my door to stop the vibration.

Quality appeared to have deteriorated significantly compared to two years ago; Room: very simple uncomfortable room (for 3 persons) for relatively high price; curtains covered less than half of the windows. One very basic uncomfortable chair. No fridge (delivered later upon request). Unstable internet. No cleaning of drinking glasses. Dirty menu card. Noisy corridor during night (door slamming) Restaurant: 2 years ago quality of diners were very good, now a big disappointment. Quality of food was poor, partly served almost cold. Breakfast: in many cases incomplete (service apparently cannot cope with larger groups). Quality of juices: poor and warm. Coffee on special demand (but free)

The people, the food , the room all very very poor- other people who was there and others who knew about it agreed too

A normal hotel, secure and cozy.

Their was a mistake with my laundry. Instead of charging for washing the took for Ironing as well. When I told the receptionist at checkout on 17/10 22:00 about this mistake, and even showed her the slip which clearly stated it was for washing only; her response was: "You have to pay, I won't let you leave if not". When I tried explaining again I got the same idiotic response. Only after a lot of arguing I got her to call some manager, and deduct the amount. Other receptionists seemed OK, but I think this girl should find herself another job that doesn't involve dealing with people.

Caution: door locks in this hotel are unsafe: when you close door while leaving your room, the door may stay unlocked! Always check and ask for staff assistance to lock it. It was too noisy in the room due to not good enough sound proofing of the door.

Perfect location, walking distance to almaty 2 train station (2 minutes), supermarkets (5 minutes), Arbat shopping street/ Panfilov park (10 minutes). Excellent english at reception, generous breakfast, attentive service.

Just a very minor thing: the shower hot water never become really hot, just warm. I guess in sumer it's ok... At the gym/sauna, it's 500 kzt for a towel, so bring your own from the room.

Very reasonable compared to other hotels in almaty. Decent b-fast, pool/gym in basement. Located two blocks from almaty 2 train station and one block from mall

They charged 400 kzt to use pc in lobby. About 15-20 minute walk to main street in almaty but fine for me

Clean rooms, comfortable beds, very friendly and helpful staff. Ideally positioned for the Railway station.

Less convenient for city centre. Plenty of buses run from stops on Rajmbek Prospect, but this area gets very busy and return journeys to the hotel from town in the evening can be lengthy. Wi-Fi is connection patchy in some rooms. Breakfast a little limited in scope

I stayed in this hotel with my friend a few days ago. Hotel staff was very warm and kind. He even woke up at 4am and brought us to train station. (We couldn't speak Russian.) Also, hotel staff gave a lot of help when my flight from Urumqi in China was cancelled due to bad weather condition in Almaty. They kindly re-booked for us. This hotel is very close to train station, shopping mall, and many restaurants. Swimming pool/sauna is small but enough to take a rest. I really appreciate all hotel staff.... Definitely stay in this hotel next time, too!

Unhelpful and unfriendly staff.. Do not recommend this hotel.

One lady in desk is quite unqualified and unkind. !.During we checking in April 15,she did not find our reservation by Bookinh.com.and say "no" to us. 2.After we show her our reservation document,she even requested us pay room rate during checking in immediately. We refused her look down requirement to us. 3.The hotel has quaranteed to offer free Wifi for internet ,however when we check in we find the Wifi had some problem.Then we called her and she promised to send an IT expert to help.However we got no reply for hours,then we called her again and,she said it's outside problem,not hotel's fault and it's impossible to get today.Though we were unhappy for such an attitude to us ,we try to ask her whether it's possible to offer us free internet as hotel promised,she refused and said we should pay if we use hotel internet.(Though another lady working at evening say sorry to us and agreed to help us connected the internet) For all above issues she never say any sorry to us! 4.We are two old professors (one is 65 and another one is 78 years old) and just take 51 hour train from Uralsk. We are so tired and hope a litter early to check in,however she rejucked us and said we should pay additional 50% money if we checkin before 12 o'clock.(We think there may be such a regulation,however it's too strict to the old tired man.) Though other staff is normal and kind,however after met such a bad experience,how can we recommend this hotel any more ?

Everything is good, deserved 3 stars, quiet location, clean. Ramstore supermarket with cheap food just around the corner. A restaurant with affordable prices in the hotel. Rooms are new & modern, locks with ecectronic cards, not like those old worn soviet-style hotels. The room has everything - even toothpaste & toothbrush and hairdryer. Wifi works everywhere. Definitely a recommended place to stay.

Достаточно шумно было в номере. Тонкие стены - слышно соседей. Окна на улицу - слышно улицу.

уютно, комфортно, стильно и современно . Хорошая кровать . Хотелось бы еще чайник в номере. Доброжелательные сотрутрудники на рецепшене и охрана.Отдельное спасибо Динаре .

очень низкая звукоизоляция, отсутствие элементарных предметов в номере для *** отеля (чайник, холодильник). very low sound isolation, can hear people talking in other rooms, no frigerator or water boiler.

Personnel efficace et sympathique. Hotel bien equipe, chambres spacieuses et propres. Bien situe a cote de la gare, supermarche a proximite.
