Bayan Sulu Hotel  

Very good hotel for a budget short-term trip to expensive Astana. Comfortable and cozy rooms. Free Wi-Fi and breakfast. Relatively good location (proximity to left bank and old part old the city). Several shopping malls within a walking distance. Many cafés and KFC is just 5 minute walk away.

Personal always try to help, good value, good location, free wifi internet available. I have spent most of my time traveling around the city, visiting museums and sightseeing, so Bayan sulu was a good choice.

Hotel was overbooked, many rooms triple booked, we heard. Dozens of people got moved the same as myself. Sent me to another hotel (Hotel Astana, 15 minutes away in a taxi), which wasn't completely built yet. Put me in a room with a stranger, had to switch rooms during the night. They then tried to charge me for the room in the new hotel, more expensive than the actual Bayan Sulu. Left the next morning, refusing to pay.

Quite simply the worst night's sleep I've ever had. Horrific.

Staff despite having no english did try to be helpful.Always available at reception and to ensure you got taxis etc.

There was a lot more negative stuff than positive about this hotel. Absolutely the description of this hotel on hotel info is misleading. It is no way 3* it does not have leisure facilities and definately is not suitable for anybody with mobility problems. Breakfast not great no choice no buffet. Room not cleaned all the time I was there (4 days) Bed rock hard so uncomfortable. State of room old and in need of up grade. Had to have cold shower one day. Toilet not fully secured to floor (tilts when on it). Location didnt really matter as there did not seem to be a centre of the city in Astana. Taxis not too expensive. Looks like if you want the comforts of a reasonable hotel in Astana youll need to pay a lot more per night

Hard pressed to think of anything

I was ok, but a number of my group who had booked double/twins were relocated to another hotel 7km away as the hotel admitted they had double booked most rooms. In fact going by the number of people turned away it would seem to have triple booked the room. Also there were numerous scantily clad young ladies in the hotel every night which most people assumed were there for reasons other than sleeping. Maybe this could answer why there was no double rooms!!!! Also no curtains on the windows and no shower curtain.

We didn't actually stay in the Bayan Sulu as they had overbooked about 30 of us and sent us to a different hotel. No warning whatsoever beforehand and we only found out at 4am in the morning when we arrived to check in. They certainly knew because a list of our names were in reception when we arrived at the other hotel.

The apathy in relation to the 'overbooking' wasn't great. Didn't seem to care at all and didn't seem to think it was an issue. It also had an unpleasant smell as you walked in the main door.

I have already expressed my dissatisfaction with this hotel through email and phone.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. It is near super market and banks. Close to neighborhood and bus lines. overall good for the money. The manager was very helpful.

Overall it is a good place for the money.

Room was good and internet was quite reliable. Some of the hotel staff were friendly. Airconditioning was good and bed was comfortable.

Would have preferred a table in the room with some spare electrical plugs. A comfortable chair would be good if one would stay longer than a few days. The breakfast was basic. The knowledge of English of the hotel staff is limited.

The staff at the hotel were very helpful in checking us in and in whatever service we needed. They called taxis for us, and when we asked about the breakfast (eggs not working for our diet), they were happy to make us and alternative meal. Tea kettles and mini-fridge in the rooms were a plus!!

Relatively good service, good price-value ratio, spacious rooms with a private bathtubs.

This is a budget hotel, so do not expect luxurious service there. However if you are looking for an adequate price and decent service Bayan Sulu is a good choice.

Price is low by Astana standards, but so is the quality.

Very hot room, no air-conditioning provided, no sun blocking curtains, the sun comes fully into the window starting at 06:00AM, no breakfast provided while the reservation states breakfast is included. Very inconvenient location, difficult access to city center. Electricity went out the first evening.

Every day the same breakfast - 2 fried eggs + tea. No possibilities to change it for coffe. Noise on the corridors during the night. Shouting cleaning stuff every morning.

Poor service, bad facilities (bathroom, furniture), slippery stairs, not pleasant smell on the floors. I was leaving the hotel at 8 morning, there was no breakfast (although it is included to the price). The restaurant was closed and only after I knocked the door several times, someone unwashed, sleepy and uncombed opened it. A moment later I was told that he was a chef who was going to prepare a breakfast for me. I just left immediately....

Nice and clean rooms, free wifi, good location. Hotel staff and management try hard to satisfy clients needs. Not expensive hotel in comparison to other 3-star hotels around. I visited Astana for a weekend trip from Almaty and Bayan Sulu was a good choice.

Brilliance rest after working day in Astana. Very clean, decent, wifi available everywhere, what is extremely helpfully, nice personal and always ready to help. Food in restaurant i amazing, a lot of restaurants in Astana doesn't compare with it. Very good prices, for my opinion, it's stable 4 stars only without swimingpool. Wish everybody to get the best by very budget rates.

Little bit far from enter,but maybe it's good even when you tired from center.

большой номер, большая кровать, большой санузел!

завтрак; нет стола для компьютера/ноутбука в номере; старая мебель в номере, хотя кресло прикольное; медленный интернет, который постоянно сам себя ищет; не смог расплатиться картой visa (почему-то у них они не в чести!!!); тв-ящик - почти не смотрел (ничего особенного); нет банкомата рядом (минут 20 в обе стороны ходьбы); сладкие парочки ночами снимают номера.

More comfort and clean, without nasty smell from restoraunt. Мне не понравились ужасные завтраки, запах сигарет в номере и запах с кухни нутряного жира, на котором готовили еду

Персонал пытается во всем угодить. Стабильный wi-fi. Расположение не далеко от центра города. Сходили в сауну при отеле - удобно после холодной Астаны.

Курят в кафе

Теплая, уютная, спокойный район, рядом много магазинов и кафешек. Приемлемая цена. Я сравнил все соседние гостиницы были дороже, хотя примерно такого же уровня. Завтрак хоть и не роскошный, но входил в стоимость.

Нет бесплатного трансферта до аэропорта.

Приемлемая цена. Удобное расположение. Чистый, уютный номер. Рядом много магазинов и кафе. Приветливый персонал.

Мне понравился персонал отеля, готовые помочь в любом вопросе: объяснили, показали по карте, как проехать до достопримечательностей и развлекательных центров г. Астаны, предоставили мне в номер чай/кофе- бесплатно. Также понравилось соотношение цены и качества/сервиса обслуживания, т.к. Астана считается довольно дорогим городом.

Завтрак - скудный и не вкусный.

В отеле был очень дружелюбный персонал. Бесперебойный WiFi. Уютный,чистый номер.

Не понравились завтраки (каждый день яичница и плохой чай), хотя бы, сейчас в отелях такие завтраки не подают, лучше ни какого, чем такой. .
