Vientiane is starting out on its journey to become a popular tourist area - facilities are improving and what is there now works well. Modern hotels are in process of being built and transport infrastructure is developing - the China/Laos hi
gh-speed railway is certainly opening up this country.
Currently, mass tourism has not yet arrived (unlike many other places, where you seem to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with half the world's population).
If you want to go, go soon (but not in the wet season - wet is really wet!) - we can see that in a few year's time this lovely country could be overwhelmed with the evils of mass tourism, with hundreds of coaches queuing daily to get to the ancient cultural sites!

Title: Vientiane: A City of Charm and Culinary Delights
Title: Vientiane: A City of Charm and Culinary Delights
Review:
Vientiane, the heart of Laos, is a city that radiates charm and hospitality. During my visit, I was constantly struck by the friendliness of the locals, who added warmth to every encounter. The city's culinary scene was a delightful surprise; each meal, whether at a humble street stall or a cozy restaurant, was a delicious exploration of Laotian flavors. While Vientiane may not top the list for a single-visit itinerary in Laos, it's undeniably worth spending a few days in. The city offers a unique blend of tranquility and cultural richness, making it a pleasant and memorable part of any Laotian adventure.

Kinda sleepy, and not as many Day Tours and things to do as Luang Prabang or other nearby Asian cities. The only tour I did was because I saw a sign on a tree offering a three-site half day thing for just $10USD. His name is Tungchai and I recommend his tour ... Find him here ... https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100067140248570 ... After that, I decided on a flash one-night visit to Vang Vieng / Nam Ngum Lake. The bullet train is FANTASTIC and that area up there is beautiful!

I booked this Hotel for married friends who came for 3 nights. The room was excellent as was the price. I gave an outstanding review. Yesterday I sent another friend there as it was so good. At check in they tried to put him in a small, smelly room where nothing (TV, safe etc) were working. He was forced to go to Reception and tell them it wasn't good enough. He was then put into the room he booked. This is very disappointing and has me doubting my original review. It's a shame that things like this happen in this country regularly. If you get the room you booked, this Hotel is excellent. Best of Luck.

Beautiful city, capital of Laos.
Beautiful city, capital of Laos. The city is spread out but still very walkable or by tuk tuk with many things to see and eat. The night market is nearby the river with some sort of kiddie amusement park. There seems to be a mix of old and modern entertainment to explore but I didn't do much (busy working). Lots of food stalls, dining options. Haven't had one bad meal but some are better than others for sure. The night food market near D Mart is superb for food finds.
sadly the hotel was not what we expected. I know the price is cheap but we have paid less than this elsewhere in Laos and the quality has been far higher. we booked online and our room was already booked when we arrived. we were told we were upgraded to a bigger room. this was kind and we now had a room with three beds in it. the air con worked and the bed despite having a mattress like wood was pretty comfortable and we slept well. the location is really good and the staff are very friendly.
The room didn’t really look like the photos - whilst the photos were indeed of the hotel, they had been very cleverly and creatively taken (and maybe quite some time before)The overall feel was somewhat shabby and scruffy (loose, chipped taps, frayed curtains, scuffed walls, broken cement on stairs, broken chair on front porch etc). The surrounding street was dirty and the pavements had large potholes. It was more aimed at the hostel market but booking.com made it seem like a guesthouse.
Good location, spacious room and clean bathroom, plenty option for breakfast and the best part is the staff. They are so nice and helpful, specially for Somephone, he showed a really excellent service, he also sent me off and waited for me until my taxi left, a simple yet sweet gesture. Thank you so much.
Tried their spa, so good and relaxing. Totally recommend this hotel to have memorable stay in Vientiane.
The hotel is conveniently located near the center, and the manager is really helpful. When I needed to fix my bag, they even sent someone with me to find a shop, which took about 3 hours. The mattresses in the room were comfortable, which was a pleasant surprise considering I've often found them to be too hard in other hotels during my stays in Cambodia and Laos.
Kind and helpful staff with fast check in & wifi. Double room was just like the pictures and had a very nice bed/matrass (not always the case in Thailand/Laos). It was great that breakfast was included with 3 meal options to chose from, delicious! Central location on walking distance from most of the highlights.
In conclusion, my stay at Hotel was a truly magical experience. I cannot commend the staff and management enough. Good location in the city center. If you're looking for a place that combines comfort, and exceptional service, Hotel is the perfect choice. I can't wait for my next visit!
Nice comfortable common areas where you can relax and socialise. Staff are excellent. Cleanliness everything cleaned daily. Make for yourself breakfast is great. Beds 🛌 very soft and comfortable. Big lockers. Free flow drinking water. Cheap beers. Best place I stayed at in Laos 🇱🇦.
Everything, cleanest hostel of my 12 days in Laos.
The bed comes with clean linens and you have privacy with the curtains.
The hostel feels safe and the staff is great.
They even helped me to book a taxi for an early flight.
A very nice and modern hotel at the Mekong. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The paid taxi from Booking.com didn't come and the hotel helped me to get in time to the airport. Very nice room and correct price!
Really nice rooms that have recently been updated. Very thing was clean and the location was ideal. The hotel is centrally located in Vientiane but its tucked away on a side street so its nice and quiet.
Lovely clean hotel close to the night market and some really lovely restaurants. A good place to be based as you see Laos. Breakfast was good. Nice tv in the room and a very clean and powerful shower
The best hostel in Laos, Amazing staff very friendly and helpful, the room is very nice and clean, and comfortable bed.
Great party hostel easy meet new people. I would recommend to everybody
Simple yet very clean with swimming pool - that’s exactly what I wanted!
Location was excellent, the staff are very kind and helpful.
I’m very glad I chose to stay at your hotel!
Best hostel ever in Laos! A lot of toilets, a whole floor just for female dorms and bathrooms.
Amazing cafe, very cozy. Not exactly a social hostel but i had so much comfort
The best hotel in Vientiane, clean and good price, the staffs are really friendly. Rooms are comfortable with nice riverview.
I would recommend this hotel to everyone .
The hotel is very close to the city center, and is very convenient if you want to go to Patuxai or the night market. The room is also very good considering the price.
