Beautiful room and garden. We were happy to spend the last night in Luang Prabang in a nicer hotel. Not so far from the downtown.
Some of the bikes needed maintenance.
lotus pool is the high light of the hotel, the happy hour cocktails are great.
Very bad wifi
Excellent location , we were in the bugalow rooms which were very spacious and a pleasant terrace overlooking the lily pond.
It was a little noisy, in the evenings the locals gathered nearby and were very loud and at 5 am the cockerels , many of them started talking to each other!
I liked the garden with its ponds and the restaurant. The illumination at night was beautiful. The room was large and the bed comfortable.
My room had only one window, oriented into a hall.
Very nice breakfast
A bit expensive for the room rate
peaceful setting in lovely location around lotus pool just 5 minute walk from main street. good staff and very friendly managers good wifi nice pool excellent happy hour
breakfast toaster took 5 mins to toast a slice
The setting around the Lily ponds was stunning. Beautiful plants everywhere.
Our room was next to the pool and lacking in privacy. Building work was in process and it was noisy. Bar service very slow.
Not central but easy access to major sites and restaurants in Luang Prabang. Pleasant garden with large pond. Good buffet breakfast.
Rooms lack adequate sound proofing.
Lovely environment, good breakfast.
Friendly staff, very nice atmosphere.
Very noisy room. We had the expensive bungalow but streetnoise during night was as if they were talking within your own room! Don't forget the earplugs.
The French management team were extremely welcoming, friendly and professional. They assigned us a room in the new building which had been finished (in part) just a week before. The room is very comfortable, airy, spacious, high ceilings, well-furnished (although it would be preferable to have two bedside table instead of just one and some chairs and a small table on the terrace), with a terrace and direct access to the swimming pool. Breakfast spread was excellent as well: home-made croissants, banana pudding, pancakes, exotic marmalades, local soups, eggs "any style", all of that served on a rustic wooden platform with a view on the lotus pond and the rising sun.
The location is somewhat removed from the city centre (it's in so-called Zone 2, while the UNESCO protected historic centre is Zone 1).
Whilst the location was pretty good, many other properties are closer.
Our stay was peaceful and very relaxing. Bungalow and staff were great.
The hotel buildings are in good part built on top of a gorgeous lotus pond with wooden walkways. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable. The happy hour cocktails are unbeatable in price.
Just details: the lao lobby staff is a bit rough, the breakfast tea is over-infused.
This place is an oasis in Luang Prabang and I never felt I was in a hotel because of the special and unique layout of its grounds. The whole experience was amazing and the owners/or managers (I don't remember their names - a French couple) are always making sure that every guest feels great while staying there. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The location is also great, a few steps away from the center (and far enough from the noise).
The wi-fi is slow but this is an issue all around Laos.
Maison Dalabua My partner and I spent a very pleasant ten days at the Maison Dalabua. One of the highlights is eating breakfast while sitting around the Lotus Pond. The staff are really helpful and very pleasant; the management go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The hotel is located close to town and everything is within walking or cycling distance. To be honest, I think the management and staff were far more friendly than the other guests. Love the Laotian people, so warm and generous. Like others, there is nothing negative I could say about this accommodation. We are left with some wonderful memories!
We were in room 111 and the WiFi was a bit of a hit and miss affair. The Management have gone to a lot of trouble to have WiFi Routers placed in the public areas, but it can be a bit of a problem connecting to the Internet from your room. Having said this, it wasn’t a problem for us, and a few people would make use of the ‘good reception’ located near the office where there is comfortable seating overlooking the garden.
manager and staff charming and very welcoming and helpful. Beautiful design, decor, garden and pool. excellent breakfast. creme caramel recommended
- very helpful managers - restaurant and its delicious food - very big & nice bedrooms
the whole place is a visual treat, beautiful. bungalow was great, bit dark, beautiful bathroom, modern stylish the pond new pool
wifi scattery the sound from the neighbours, not hotels fault but they had a stereo / radio on, on high volume, all day. breakfast / food not up to par for the rest of the place
Freshly refurbished spacious room Helpful staff
My room was noisy as it was as most rooms in the back of the property which happens to face the main road I couldn't get any wifi connection from my room even though it was supposed to have one The hotel is surrounded by local houses which made the environment very lively and very noisy especially at night with chickens, dogs and cats being very loud. Also in the morning the smoke from local home firewood would get into my room and be a huge disturbance (despite all windows being closed) Location-wise, this wasn't the best place as all happens in the center of Luang Prabang. You can take a free bike from the hotel to move around during the day but this appeared to be more of an issue in the evening given the fact that the Main Street in the center is closed for the market Breakfast was ok but not special. I haven't tried the restaurant though.
Structure very nice, friendly and helpful staff.
Breakfast had a very limited choice, we were expecting something better for this price range hotel. It would definetely need some improvement.
Splendid hotel with a very friendly and helpful staff. We absolutely enjoyed our staying there.
- The view of lotus pond is amazing - The staff are polite and helpful - I like my bed , it is soft and thick. - The breakfast is OK.
- The water flow in the shower was very very weak so it's quite hard to control the temperature of hot and cold water. I stayed in the executive room on the second floor of new building near the pool. Though I told the maintenance , they can not fixed it. - The rooms in other building seem old and not smell good, so they should open the door to let the wind blow through.
