Bathroom not as clean as we would like Mice

For a reasonably priced hotel the location was great overlooking the river and one street away from the main street. The staff were very friendly and always helpful. We ate dinner once at the hotel but it was expensive compared to what is offered elsewhere and not as nice. However, the included breakfast was nice.

We were on the top floor and whilst the floors looked great they were very creaky so we worried about bothering the people below with the noise. The bed was very hard so not particularly comfortable.

The Apsara is a reasonably priced hotel that gives 5 star service in every way. Perhaps it is because the owner lives at the hotel. We often have found, during our 4-month yearly world travels, that owner run hotels can be the best – and this is one. At the Apsara, it feels as if everything has been carefully considered. Every staff member from the ladies who clean the rooms to the restaurant and hotel manager is friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and a pleasure to be around. Everyone seems to be delighted that you are visiting with them and acts as if he or she wants to do anything that will make your stay better. Rooms are specious and high ceilinged with a feeling of colonial Lao. The rooms have every amenity: The beds are incredibly comfortable, they provide as much free water as you want, the balconies overlook the river and the bustling street, which quiets down by 10 pm. If there is any problem the hotel management is quick to respond to it and do everything within their powers to resolve it. Two we stayed in had large comfortable bathtubs and separate showers both of which had ample hot water all day. If that weren’t enough, the restaurant is outstanding – one of the two best in town and as a guest you receive free breakfast with your room! Breakfast includes fresh orange juice, a changing array of fresh fruit, fresh baked French bread toast, and eggs or omelets any way you want them with ham or bacon! Not only that but, and for some this may be the icing on the cake…you can have your free breakfast any time until lunch!!!!! The hotel is right in town and a 5-minute walk from one of the most important temples and a leisurely 10-minute walk from the museum and the night market. What more could you ask for of a hotel?

For 16 days everything was perfect!

Gorgeous hotel overlooking the Mae Kok river. A quiet strip but one lane way away from the 'main' drag of the peninsula area ( and the main alms giving 'strip' for Buddhist monks) our room (8) was on the second floor with a shared balcony, a fab large shower and bathroom, comfy bed, fridge in an exquisite ly simple but tastefully decorated room. Staff were great, the breakfast was ample, and well prepared. We had dinner there one night and it was delicious and beautifully presented. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

It didn't bother me at all, but in case it matters to folks, no TV.

Open-air lobby/dining room/bar with additional tables across the street by the river Nam Kahn. The decor was perfect: simple Laotian elegance, featuring teak and hand-woven silk. Wonderful breakfasts, to order, from 7 to lunchtime. Staff excellent.

That I had to return to reality in California after 17 days at the Apsara, now my all-time favorite hotel. Diana Menkes

Doors and shutters did not close well. Could not easily close or open them to block out light. No TV available

The location to the Old Town and its activities and restaurants was excellent. Our room was nicely decorated and good-sized. The staff were friendly and helpful. Food was good but pricey.

Our sheets remained unchanged for our 5-night stay and the pillows offered no support whatsoever. We had to contend with mosquitoes in the room daily. This is not what one expects from a place with a reputation as an upscale guesthouse. Definitely overpriced for what you get. Better value elsewhere.

The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The hotel was clean, comfortable and in a great position across from the river but right behind the Main Street.

The Internet was too slow and needs an upgrade which I think is in the process off happening?

Beautiful room very near town but in the quiet area. My second floor Patio which was nice for relaxing over looked a small river that feeds into the Mekong. Bed was great, huge shower with great water pressure. I enjoyed one of my better meals on my 15 day trip with 4 other newly formed friends that I had met on the 2 day slow boat down the Mekong. All the wine, pre dinner apps, and meals were incredible and highly suggest eating here as well. The included breakfast was a wonderful way to start the day. I will miss those omelets.

Hard to fault the hotel. The first night the ac was not working quite well but after notifying the front desk that was taken care of within an hour.

En tous points il s'agit d'un excellent hôtel. La chambre est spacieuse et confortable avec une décoration faite avec bon gout. Les personnel est aux petits soins et fait tout pour rendre le séjour encore plus agréable. Le restaurant propose des plats de grande finesse.

Das Frühstück war recht sparsam. Wenig Abwechslung.

Zeer goede lokatie: aan de "goede kant" bij de rivier meer diverse leuke restaurantjes. Toch rustig, want niet aan de drukke hoofdstraat. Zeer ruime kamer, badkamer met zeer ruime douche, zeer groot bed, gratis Internet (uiteraard), kluis. Kamers zitten in een aantal gebouwen die naast elkaar liggen. Geen enkel probleem want zeer dicht bij elkaar. Mooiste is ontbijt op het terras bij de receptie. Zeer goede service en erg prettig wakker worden met goede koffie en uitzicht op rustige straat en rivier.

Geen negatieve punten

Fint rummeligt værelse. Stort badeværelse, rent og fint. Fin beliggenhed inde i byen - gåafstand til alt. God balkon med magelige stole. God morgenmad

Bookede det dyreste værelse, men det viste sig at ligge op ad en masse stejle trapper, så det kunne vi ikke bruge, da min mand har dårligt hjerte og ikke kan gå i trapper - det fremgik ikke af beskrivningen på nettet! Så vi måtte nøjes med etstandardværelse, da der ikke var andre ledige - men til den dyre pris!! På grund af at booking.com skulle have provision af det dyre værelse! Det synes jeg er meget for dårligt af booking.com, da det er jer, som viser hotellerne og formulerer beskrivningen, som i vores tilfælde ikke levede op til virkeligheden!

Apsara er et pent hotell i Luang Prabang. Fra hotellet er det bare noen meter til byens hovedgate. Hotellet ligger ned mot ei bielv til Mekong. Det ligger godt plassert i forhold til severdighetene i Luang Prabang. Rommet vårt var pent og passe stort. En liten veranda som lå ut mot ei mindre gate, var fin å sitte på om kvelden da det ikke lenger var så varmt.

Det må nok sies at prisene på mat og drikke i hotellrestauranten var vel i stiveste laget i forhold til prisnivået ellers i Luang Prabang.

Las fotos publicadas, si bien ciertas, son engañosas. El hotel es viejo y caro para las prestaciones ofrecidas (USD 75 por noche la doble de primer piso) y de hecho tiene 2 edificios. Las habitaciones de planta baja tienen puerta y ventana a la calle y al edificio anexo se entra por un pasadizo lateral desde la calle sin ningun tipo de control. El aire acondicionado es absolutamente insuficiente para el tamaño de la habitacion y la temperatura ambiente y además lo apagan al hacer la habitación, por lo que al regresar a la tarde se ingresa en un horno que tarda horas en enfriarse. Busque otro hotel o guesthouse mejor o al menos de precio adecuado al servicio ofrecido

En la habitacion 203 la ducha salpica el sector del inodoro, no hay nada para secar el piso, y para acceder hay que subir 2 escalones !!!!. El aire acondicionado es absolutamente insuficiente y en el lobby y restaurante no existe (es abierto al calor y los mosquitos, sólo con algunos ventiladores)

The service was excellent, extremely friendly. The manager and owner took personal interest in making my stay pleasant. It was a return visit for me, my second stay, and I look forward to another in the future.

There is nothing I found lacking.
