Nice hotel, lovely pool and garden. Colonial building, the room is o.k. Location close to city center and good Joma coffee café. Comfy bed.
bathroom is too small, thanks to a huge vase serving as a wash basin. Breakfast good but nothing special.
Room: comfy and big enough. There is everything what you need. Bathroom: is ok. Maybe same more light good be better. Still for me it was good. Swimming pool: amazing. and the non alcoholic drinks too. Breakfast: is good. maybe some more fruits would be nice, specially in a country where they just fall from the trees.
Sockets in my room did not work.
Very helpful and friendly staff and hotel manager Very nice swimming pool Very nice decoration and room
Pillow is not comfortable no Wifi is provided in the room A bit far from the city , but it's still acceptable Breakfast is not so nice
We loved everything: the owner and staff, the great room and bathroom, the excelent breakfast, the fantastic pool, the amazing detail put in every decoration and setting. The location was also superb and all the hotel conditions were great. We highly recomend it (no doubt)
You can walk in to town easily. Breakfast is excellent. Management are helpful. The pool & surrounds are fantastic
Room, service, fantastic breakfast!
The hotel and all its' quarters are beautifully decorated and maintained. A cool, peaceful haven in the middle of LP. The staff is attentive and consistently helpful.
The pool deck is made of dark, varnished wood. Although it looks beautiful, heat is absorbed and can scald your feet. Also, an employee is posted to mop the deck so you won't slip. If the deck was composed of different materials, both problems could be eliminated.
Lovely hotel Great location staff was very helpful
Great location near to but not in the old town. Nice swimmimg pool. Helpful management and staff. Nice breakfast.
Expensive. Bathroom was nice but a little cramped.
A beautiful hotel, lovely rooms and area around the swimming pool.
Bathroom was just okay - bit small and seemed out of place with the gorgeous room. Not particularly central - a 10 minute walk to the main areas. Not really a problem but worth mentioning in case this is important.
Tranquil lovely setting but just a short walk (20 min) or tuk tuk ride to river and centre. Whole town is a joy just to stroll around. Friendly helpful staff.
staff was amazingly polite and efficient. Great location
The ambiance ....
Curtains did not cover the window, and the bathroom , was tweet, but if I was a large person I would have a problem I would have had great difficulty in entering the lavatory!
Wonderful location in a quiet part of the city. Great breakfast, good food. Very clean nice pool and pool area.
Value for money - but I think that most Luang Prabangs hotels are too expensive for what they have to offer.
- great elegant design of the villa &rooms& garden. It was so pleasant and quiet! - free fast wifi - 5 min walking distance from old town - heaters in the outside breakfast area( we were there for new years and it was cold in the mornings)
hard mattress on the bed; we asked for heater in the room as there is no heating and we were there first week of january, so nights were cold;
Good location within walking distance to the main town (10 minutes). Lovely entrance including nice fountain with Koi fish, and the main reception was nicely decorated and very clean. Mini bar ok. Room service efficient. Pool area very attractive. Friendly staff at reception, security, porter and the bar. The 2 hour new years cocktail cruise was excellent and good value for money - the highlight of our stay (the staff on that cruise were absolutely delightful).
We booked the Delux room which was advertised on booking.com as having a balcony, yet it did not. I believe that this issue has now been rectified and the hotel also only charged us for the Superior room rate as a gesture since we were not happy about this misinformation. We did appreciate that. (note: we swapped rooms with our friends travelling with us - they stayed in the delux and we stayed in the superior as we wanted a balcony due to being smokers) The Superior room - very impractical design and layout - they are squeezing too much into a small space so we constantly bumped into edges or tripped over things. No power plug in bathroom, bad lighting making make-up application for my wife impossible, no bench space, no shelves or hooks in shower for amenities or to hang face washers etc), hair blowdryer was very dirty and broken and had to be used in the main rom with no mirror since no plug in bathroom, phone in the room was not working although this was rectified when we advised staff, Internet not working in rooms, no slippers, very basic amenities. Pillows were either too large or too small and extremely hard. Cleaning staff extremely noisy - talking loudly and clumping around like elephants. There is a chicken farm and guest house next door and they are super noisy(not much hotel can do about it but it is disruptive nonetheless). No car parking spaces. Restaurant looks like a budget canteen and does not fit with the ambience and lovely design of the rest of the hotel public areas. The food and cocktails served at the restaurant were to a low standard and the restaurant staff were miserable and non-communicative. Hotel staff in general tried their best to be helpful but there appeared to be a management vacuum and they were missing leadership and oversight.
Loved the entrance to the hotel and the location - 5 mins walk from the town centre, and transport right outside the hotel if you don't want to walk into town.
The rooms were poorly maintained. We were staying in a deluxe room which is a big room (please note there is no balcony in the deluxe rooms). However, the room was very dark, the walls are very thin (when people were in the room next door you could clearly hear their conversation), the water in the shower on a couple of occassions was cold, the lamps in the room weren't all working, and the hairdrier blew up. Friends of ours were staying in another block in a superior room. These are exceptionally small rooms, although they have a balcony area. They were kept awake by properties around the hotel, hotel staff, and by the noise from chickens. We were staying at high season (New Year), so prices (and value for money) might be better at another time of year.
Charming, excellent service, beautifully appointed rooms, and great location.
Very nice on the surface, beautiful pool area/garden and nice rooms.
Breakfast was quite poor for a hotel of this standard. No cheese or meat, only marmalade to put on your bread. Took ages to get tea- sometimes had to ask 3 times. Staff were in general less friendly than other places we stayed in LP. Wifi in room was very patchy.
Absolutely beautiful hotel, stunning surrounding and poolside.
Being woken each morning before six by the cleaners who had a cupboard outside our room. Breakfast was not very good for this type of hotel, had to ask for coffee/tea and second cups not really available.
Everything from the beginning to end!!
Checking out & moving on!
setting, location, room
Beautiful setting, gardens, pool area, large elegant room with four-poster bed and rather a lot of furniture. Interesting management and nice staff.
Limited, very conventional breakfast with appalling coffee
The hotel looks lovely. Beautiful and well maintened garden, very characteristic building. Nice small swimming pool.
- The breakfast was a bit limited (an egg station would give a boost). We stayed 2 days in the hotel. Everyday breakfast was the same. The last day the French toast was finished. My son asked the senior lady if he could have some and she told him very unfriendly that they had them yesterday. Later she realized her impoliteness and ordered the kitchen to make some French toast, but her attitude can be way more polite and friendly towards her clients. - The local staff was very inexperienced and was not supported well by the European staff. - checkout was a nightmare. The guy at the desk didn't know how to add up the bill and add the service charge for the credit card. This was completely ignored by the female manager, who was sitting close by, but was not offering any help.
