i loved the balcony for breakfast especially when up early enough to have that view of the Monks' alms ceremony.
I appreciated the free shuttle to the airport, but i wish the hotel had told me they would also provide a free pickup service by emailing prior to my departure
Brilliant location in town- every morning the Alms Giving Ceremony goes right past the front gate. Lovely buffet breakfast on the balcony overlooking the streetscape , good coffee and friendly attentive service. Small but pretty pool in a courtyard setting. I believe this is the only hotel in the old quarter that has a pool which is very welcome at the end of a hot day.We were upgraded to a Royal Suite which was a huge and stunning room in the old colonial mansion. Other rooms are in an annexe just across the road, they are smaller and not as luxurious but still in a top location in town. We ate dinner in the balcony restaurant and the food was lovely, the service impeccable. We were entertained by a lovely young Apsara dancer while we ate. We had reciprocal access to the Villa Santi Resort which is out of town but did not go as we did not have time. They offer a free shuttle service to the Resort and we wished we had been able to stay longer to make use of the other resort, However, we loved the central position of our location so close to everything.
Everything was good...Breakfast ok, not perfect...Room was clean...Only air was not so good and an wifi, it was terrible bad..Some days not working at all, some days just a very slow wifi..The Pool is smaller than many place pool for children...and there was mosquitos at room a lot...but...location was best, you can walk everywhere and that junior suite where we were 5 days, it was nice and big...
Wifi was very very slow or it doesn't work at all...Some mosquites at room too much and breakfast could be better for that price...
Excellent food and facilities on main market road
- Great central location for everything from renting bicycles, travel agencies, laundry services, shops, restaurants, and tourist attractions. All tuktuk drivers know the hotel. Easy access. (위치가 매우 좋음. 뚝뚝 드라이버들도 다 알아서 찾아가기 쉬움) - Hotel building is nice. Heard that it used to be a princess' possession. (호텔빌딩이 멋짐. 옛날 공주가 살던데라고 함) - Room is clean. (룸이 깨끗함) - Breakfast has lots of options. (조식이 괜찮음) - Swimming pool is very small but it's not bad to relax. (수영장은 매우 작음. 탕에 몸 담그는 수준이지만 그래도 나쁘진 않았음) - Fairly various TV list to watch. (볼만한 TV 채널이 많은 편임)
- Toilet is clean but drain is smelly. (화장실은 깨끗한데 배수구 냄새남) - No dressing powder or desk. (화장대나 책상이 없음) - Staffs were not bad, not good. (스탭들은 나쁘지도 않고 좋지도 않았음. 딱히 단점은 아니지만 개선되면 더 좋겠음)
location, colonial building style , excellent breakfast.Easy access to restaurants, shopping, sightseeing.
Good location. This hotel is located on Sakkarine road. From lobby hotel, if you turn left you can walk to Wat Chieng Tong about 15-20 min and if you turn right, you can walk to Royal palace and Phu si about 15 min. There are many restaurants for lunch and dinner around hotel. You can request free shuttle service from airport. Breakfast have good taste.
The hotel is beautiful and good atmosphere but the furniture in room is old.
The breakfast was amazing and the location cannot be beat. Pick up from and delivery to the airport was good. It is a very clean hotel.
There was a slight mosquito problem in our room and we got bit at night (there are no nets). I think some bites are expected, but we got more than a few. We reported a leaking air conditioner and it continued to leak the entire stay. Unfortunately, the annex rooms are next to a school so go expecting some noise during the day.
Staff very good and knowledgable. Free shuttle to other hotel to use large pool. breakfast is very good.
The prices they quote for tours/cars/outings are very expensive. Go onto the main street and approach others - the hotel are making too much commission.
The Resort = dirty pool.
We got a free upgrade so our room was spacious and very nice. Location was good.
We didnt think the staff were friendly or helpful at all. The pool area was not very good.
Location in old town. Upgrade to very spacious junior suite. Pool small and shallow but clean and quiet.
Very overpriced - only place in old town available with a pool and was over 40 degrees - if cooler, lots of better value choices. Lots of furniture but no desk or comfortable chair and hard bed. Breakfast is quantity not quality (fake juice! - raw food left unrefrigerated)
Really charming place with a great location.
Nothing negative, for the price it is excellent value for the price
quiet but central location, room and restaurant was all excellent. We had champa room on first floor next to reception which was very convenient. Very nice was the possibility to go by free shuttle bus to the resort and back which is itself a nice sightseing trip. On your way back, you go out somewhere and walk home.
We got no answer to several emails ahead of our stay. We sent it to 3 different officially published mail adresses of Villa Santi and still got no answer. This is not acceptable. - But on the other hand, everything was just perfectly arranged once after we had arrived at the airport. Thank you, we will come back.
Great location in Luang Prabang, near many restaurants and temples and the river. Not too noisy. Lovely buffet breakfast overlooking the main street
Great location as the monks walked past the hotel early in the morning. Could sit on balcony for breakfast and watch. Short walk to morning and evening markets. We spent three days in downstairs junior suite which was a little dark - two days in upstairs suite which looked into the tree tops and was more private and lighter but also the noise of people talking and the temple gongs seemed to carry up more. Both are in an annexe heritage building behind and across a lane from the main hotel. We did not find this to be a problem. The breakfast selection was excellent with very attentive staff always ready to pour another cup of their truly excellent coffee. The pastries were outstanding and they even provided a little oven where we could warm up the croissants The staff at reception had good English and were very helpful. The pool is small but adequate to cool off in - in first week of February it was quite chilly. Good restaurant and cooking school just across the road, Tamnak Lao. Luang Prabang felt a very safe place, even walking home at night after night market which seems to extend for a very long way. Lots of food stalls but be there before 6 pm to get a seat at a table. Stalls offer a buffet selection and you can pile up a plate as high as you want for less than $1.50 US.
I found the beds were very hard until I folded up the spare woolly blanket in the cupboard and slid it under the bottom sheet for some softness. The shower is over the bath and you can end up with a small river on the floor if not careful. We tried the hotel restaurant for dinner one night and found it wasn't value for money.
Excellent location and friendly staff. Our son enjoyed the small pool.
Maintenance required in the rooms. We experienced smelly drains in the bathroom and had to change rooms after two days as they didn't seem equipped to fix the problem - new toilet or plumber was required. The second room ceiling air conditioning unit leaked all over the middle of the room. Staff tried to help but these problems were obviously not new.
Its right in the middle of the old town. Room was very comfortable (if you can go for one of the "Royal Suites" it was amazing!). Staff friendly. Breakfast was a great variety and nice. Airport transfer is free. You can use the free shuttle to go to the Santi Resort and use their facilities for the day if you'd like to relax for an afternoon. You can charge food and drink their to your Villa Santi account. Stay in the old town though for proximity to restaurants and the monks alms giving.
Watch out for the 3% fee for using a credit card. I felt the hotel could have done more to help stop the tourists outside the hotel from being inappropriate at the alms giving - although most hotels are guilty of the same thing.
Friendly restaurant Staff, good house-cleaning. Higher priced rooms are comfortable.
Noisy street front location not shown in photo. Incorrect room description that listed a free-standing shower (required $450 per night rate increase from $150 to $600 to get that room-type; shower in lower priced room was awkward and messy.) Mgmt blamed Booking. com for the mistake. No "Spa" on the premises even though it is listed as Hotel and Spa.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Great location Very good service
The room was a little cold
The rooms were spacious, the staff very friendly, and the location excellent. The rate included a nice breakfast buffet every day and the restaurant served quality food. We were made to feel very welcome during our stay. Being able to use the large pool at the sister resort just outside town was a great benefit with the kids.
A lovely hotel which was perfectly situated in Luang Prabang's main street. The breakfast buffet was excellent. A nice, big bedroom and quality bathroom. Lovely pool, albeit a bit small for swimming. I note that previous reviews of this hotel have been mixed up with reviews for the Villa Santi Resort & Spa, which is located out of town, but you are able to use the facilities with a free transfer bus operating every couple of hours, although we had no need to take advantage of this as we had plenty to occupy us in the hotel and the town itself.
Location was great Security was excellent Staff were very frienly
Being charged 2.5% for using a debit card.
