The staff were amazing and could not do enough for us. They were really friendly and helpful. The whole environment was very good .
Not aware of construction work but to be fair it was well concealed with minimum impact to us
Beautiful bay, perfect location. Extremely kind and caring staff.
delicious food - breakfast included; ample choices! complimentary water everyday. complimentary rum. complimentary Welcome Fruit Platter. modern, clean room & bathroom.
If you plan to stay only in Marigot Bay...you'll be bored after the first day. Without access to a beach, daily entertainment has to be stellar...and it wasn't. The music was so quiet at the pool it was as if it were only for the bartender to hear - no speakers for the pool area. Very quiet, low energy mood. We kept asking bartender to turn it up; he would for 1 song and turn it down again. Not your typical high energy Caribbean Island vibe. To leave Marigot Bay - be ready to pay cab fares - negotiate first! Hotel Clerk told us taxi to Castries costs about US$35-40; Cabbie asked us for US$50.00. Cab from Rodney Bay to hotel cost us US$50.00 one way. Cab to hotel - ride up the east coast cost US$85.00 before tip.
Room was large. Staff was friendly. View of the bay was beautiful. Restaurant options at and around the resort were expensive, but generally good.
Hot water heater in room broke repeatedly during stay. Driving between Capella Marigot Bay and anywhere else on the island was nail biting. Felt trapped in the resort area due to unsafe roads and being uncomfortable with the huge economic disparity between the luxury of the resort and the poverty of the surrounding local population. There must be a better way to distribute the wealth and employ more locals to improve the economic situation of the islanders and fix the infrastructure.
I liked the location very much. The room and it's view was amazing, room service was the best i've seen in my life!
the hotel was in renovation, couldn't use the infinity pool, there was only wifi in the restaurant area..
Good location, nice view on the bay, many small restaurants in the area, friendly staff.
The staff and hospitality.
Very bad internet covarage.
As a solo traveller, it was important for me to feel safe and comfortable. Both of those needs were met. The front desk staff - particularly Tracy- were very helpful and accommodating. My room was wonderful! Large, airy, beautiful hardwood floors, lovely patio and beautiful view. Loved the fact that I had a wonderful welcome fruit bowl upon arrival and my fridge was stocked with rum, water and sodas. The daily American breakfast was good and dinner was exceptionally good. For the money and in comparison to other resorts in the area, this was very well priced. I chose to stay at this resort. I came to St Lucia because I needed to attend the wedding of friends who were being married at an all inclusive resort north of the island. The other resort was not worth the value.Their price was 3x what I paid at Capella! And, the food, rooms etc were not nearly as nice . (Afterall there's only so much alcohol and food you can drink/eat.)
Felt spa services were overpriced and their staff were not very service-friendly. Just know that the roads of St. Lucia are not well marked so the hotel was a little difficult to find -this has nothing to do with the hotel but navigating along the island by car is not that easy. Cabs are the way to go but can be pricey.
The staff were fantastic - they couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating (far better than the Willard Intercontinental (Washington D.C.) where I stayed the week before). I was a little concerned having read the reviews, but the new ownership seems to have sorted any issues. The place will be undergoing renovation over the year and will be really spectacular when it is completed. The ferry to the beach takes a minute or two and is quite fun feature, although the beach is pretty small and seems to be man made. It was a pleasure to be near the visiting yachts that were moored right by the hotel. Food was not too expensive and was good quality, particularly compared to some other Caribbean Islands I have visited.
Beautiful bay, helpful stuff, a unique atmosphere.. The Mix of yacht club with the beautiful hotel garden with the tranquility of atmosphere with a beautiful view from the terrace and room with water view..
A beach facilities.
good size bedrooms and bathrooms very helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. Lovely views. Limited as to what you can do without using expensive taxis or car hire. A relaxing place to be.
for size of bathroom it would have been appropriate to have a bath as well as a shower. Slow restaurant service. Low level toilets near the restaurant smelled bad.
The suites are nice
Food was not great
Staff provided excellent and friendly service throughout.
Hotel is "tired" and in need of its planned refurbishment. Restricted eating options as one menu covers both the bar and restaurant for lunch and dinner. Disappointing although all of the food was very good.
Great location A choice of 3 restaurants in the bay as well as the hotel
Hotel has an excellent location with the very nice view on the Marigot bay. As it is located close to a river and to a forest you need to get used to a very aggressive mosquitoes.
We spent 16 days travelling across a 5 different Caribbean islands and 8 different hotels. This one proposed the least nice experience due to lack of focus from the personnel despite of many suggestion made to Hotel’s managers. They didn’t have coffee machine working; reception most of the time as a concierge were closed, the breakfast in the day we wanted to leave was not served despite of day before arrangement. As an explanation was they are in a process of changing an owner. I would rather recommend to wait as they complete re-branding or choose an other option with better value offer and customer focus orientation- what in that area is not difficult.
