The location was stunning with easy access via water taxi to the other resort beaches in the area. Easy walk into town. Hotel provided tours to nearby mineral springs waterfalls, sulphur mudbaths, etc.Great staff and very relaxing atmosphere. Beautiful hummingbirds were everywhere.

We opted for the non air conditioned rooms next to the swimming pool. While they had a stunning few and were clean, in July they were hot. Staff quickly gave us floor fans which helped. Lots of mosquittos - not Hummingbird;s fault - they recommended getting citronella gel which helped.

Location was amazing. A beautiful view of the pitons and hummingbirds abound!

The service at breakfast was rather slow. Be prepared to be on Caribbean time!

Being in Soufriere was the perfect location for the activities we wanted to do and for being able to see both the Pitons all the time. The staff was great - helpful, responsive and professional. The breakfast fruit was a joy, the rest of included breakfast okay. The one dinner we had there was good.

The resort itself could use some updating for a fresher look and feel. Doesn't have to be fancy, just newer and fresher.

Independent locally owned hotel. After one night we were move to room 3 which was light and bright with large four poster bed completely covered in mozzie netting, a high vaulted ceiling and a small balcony overlooking sea and Petit Piton. Great location right on public beach with access to water taxis, dive school and an easy walk to town. I like local beaches which aren't made to be postcard perfect. Decent snorkelling right off beach and within easy taxi boat distance to other snorkelling areas Small pool in a lovely garden with lots of hummingbird and a great view. Lovely staff Only ate dinner twice but very nice food with local organic veg. Soufriere is a 'proper' town with everything you need inc. banks, doctor, supermarkets, local bars, some restaurants. Despite my negative comments, we really did enjoy our stay.

Spent first night in king suite (5) which was not as described. It felt dark with low ceilings, had no view, no private sitting out area, mozzie nets on windows not fixed properly... Doubtful if carpet mats in front of toilets/sinks (in either room) were changed for each guest. The dining area has very uncomfortable seating. Bar area stools not much better. Nowhere in the hotel communal areas where you could comfortably sit and relax apart from plastic chairs around the pool. Breakfast not up to scratch for the money. Not offered fresh juice and when we did ask, most days it was from cartons. The coffee and tea were abysmal. Outside shower block was always locked so unusable unless you found 'security' to open them.

The location was good and the restaurant had good food. The dive shop located on the nearby beach was very friendly and had reasonably priced diving.

I did not feel like Hummingbird represented good value for money. Understanding that Soufriere is expensive anyway, I did not feel that this place was anywhere close to as nice as it should have been for the price that you pay. The shower water pressure was very poor, our toilet leaked all over the floor, our sink faucet dripped constantly (all of which were noted to the hotel staff...our toilet finally got fixed on the last day, before then they just placed a little container under the pipe to catch the water which overflowed). We tried to book a catamaran tour on any of the four days we were in Soufriere to be told that they couldn't get a hold of the company. Eventually we stopped asking since it was clear they had no interest in helping us book anything. All in, spotty service, poor quality rooms, but good location and views of Petit Piton.

Location is fantastic for this city, and is very close to town. Staff is friendly, and beach is nicest stretch in Soufriere.

This hotel is an old folks home. If you're young, you're going to feel a little out of place here.

We loved The Hummingbird Beach Resort, the hotel, the staff, the location and the food! This quaint hotel has a lovely relaxed atmosphere and it was lovely to sit and chat with Joyce the owner and her family. Would defiantly like to return!

We stayed in room 5 and it could do with a little updating, but I think this was about to happen as we left. However this would not deter me from visiting again.

It is a small, intimate hotel that is very relaxing and friendly. It is close to many tourist sites which are amazing. The view of the Petit Piton and the harbour is outstanding. There are beach chairs for the guests and it is lovely to sit and watch the sailboats go by. The best thing about the Hummingbird is the staff. They are always friendly and willing to do anything for you. The restaurant food is always very good and reasonably priced. They always serve local fruits and vegetables and get to try new things that are fresh. I will return.

It can sometimes be a bit noisy with boats bringing tourists from the north of the island.
