Spectacular view of the Piton, personal and friendly 'owner managed' service, excellent food, proximity to local shops/restaurants and abundance of hummingbirds.

Lots of steps for a small child and basic bathroom facilities.

I have stayed at the hotel before and I really like it because it is a small hotel that can provide great, friendly service. This year I was happy to see the renovations to the Superior rooms which make them look and feel cleaner and more comfortable. The best thing about the resort is the view and, of course, the hummingbirds.

This well-maintained, small hotel is about 30 years old, who's hey-day was in the 80'S. Micheal Cain and Rachel Welch have stayed here. We particularly liked the "throw-back" design. It is a tropical motif (almost South Pacific) with lots of dark wood carvings and very open-air in the Bar-Restaruant area. You can find bigger rooms with more amenities at the bigger resorts outside Soufriere but you won't find a warmer more Hospitable Staff that Joyce and Lindell Stowe employ. They are gracious hosts and her son David serves as Chef (trained at Florida Culinary Institute). All produce and herbs are local grown, many across the road in the family's private garden! Menu changes every few days depending on the catch and fruits and vegetables bought that morning. Even if not on the menu, ask him to prepare you a yellow fin tuna Ceviche....absolutely out of this world! His other dishes are equally delicious. The resort is right on the public beach (all St. Lucia beaches are public despite what some resorts say or try to segregate), but at the end farthest from town....an easy walk to shops, local markets, and other dining choices. Petit Peak on the waterfront had two particularly good appetizers and internet chatter seems to be in synch that this and the Humming Bird are the best in town Restuarants. Of course Mango Tree (Stonefield Estate), Fond Duex Plantation, Dasheene at Ladera, and Bouchon (?) at Hotal Choclat are all 5-10 minutes away by cab for "off the charts" gourmet dining experiences.

After coming from Stonefield Estates Villas the room seemed a bit small, but we have been in smaller. No mini-fridge, but ice was readily availble from the bar. Interestingly, the same attention to detail we had at Stonefield was evident at Hummingbird Beach Resort, fresh cut flowers sprinkled about the room daily, cleaning service, in rom safe....

La situation et le cadre de l'hôtel sont exceptionnels.Bungalow spacieux. Calme de l'établissement.

Bungalow vieillot où il fait très sombre. Climatisation dans la chambre principale, mais PAS dans la deuxième chambre. Prix excessivement élevé!

La proximité du village pour sortir à pieds, la plage devant l'hotel, le calme, le restaurant avec vue, la petite piscine

La suite familiale (située sous la piscine): pas de clim du côté enfants, mal ventilée, trop chaud, sombre

Sa situation. Le cadre est magnifique. Le personnel est sympathique.

Dans la chambre, le coté pratique est à revoir ! - Pas de quoi poser les affaires dans la chambre ( pas de table ). - Difficile de s'assoir : une chaise ( pour deux ). - Pas de quoi étendre le linge mouillé ( serviettes, maillots... quand on est au bord de la mer...) - Certes une penderie mais sans cintre ! Pas d’aération dans la salle de bain ( fenêtre fermée ). Le petit déjeuner dit "continental" est frugal.

Prachtige ligging, vriendelijk personeel, kamers zijn ruim, maar de onze had geen air-conditioning of koelkast. Prima restaurant

Geen vensters in de kamer, wel grote muggenramen, doch grote spleten onder de dakrand, waardoor zeer veel muggen in de kmaer zitten. Veel lawaaierigheid, ontbijt vrij pover.

The food was quite good and the people who worked there were quite nice.

No hot water. I didn't like the refillable soaps. Mosquito net was entirely ineffective because it wasn't tucked in. I felt that the value wasn't really in line with the quality of the hotel. I felt like you were paying for location but every time I tried to go out on the beach the drug dealers would swarm up to me and try to sell me drugs. Not very relaxing.

Prachtige ligging, direct aan strand met mooi snorkelgebied. Uitstekend restaurant. Leuk gebouwd. Voldoende ruimte voor privacy. Schitterend uitzicht op de Pitons.

Er bleek in de meeste kamers geen airco te zijn; daar waren veel muggen. De inrichting van de kamers is netjes maar zeer beperkt: geen zitje, alleen een klein bankje voor buiten én binnen. Geen koffiefaciliteiten en geen koelkastje. Douchegedeelte gedateerd, douche vaak niet warm. Wifi bleek niet te werken en bij navraag werd het niet opgelost.

Beautiful setting with view of the ocean and volcanoes, walking along the beach, being dropped off by the water taxi, excellent food.

Room very dark, all windows covered, lighting dim to save energy, wine selection per glass very limited.

A very peaceful and tranquil oasis. The hummingbirds in the tree beside our balcony were wonderful. Good food, excellent service

The Hummingbird is a good value for the money and is located right on the beach. Breakfast is included. The restaurant is very good and looks out on the sea and the Piton, a lovely view.

We stayed is a garden room because it has air conditioning. It was a bit cave-like. I recommend installing air conditioning in all the rooms. Our friend who stayed in a room without air conditioning and was quite uncomfortable. The room itself had a nice view though.
