The Downtown Hotel  

The Pitons are easily accessible from the hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are large and comfortable. Transportation to and from the hotel is easily arranged, but, by necessity, taxi fares to the airports are exceptionally high - and buses are not a reliable option, but the hotel staff were helpful with this.

The noise from the street, about four stories below, continues into the early morning, and it includes vehicles with loud engines, booming radios, and squealing tires, people yelling, and very loud music. Hotel reception is reached by climbing about three sets of wide steps, after which there is another set of steps to reach the rooms. Did not see any elevator. The rooms had tacky grime on the furniture, and the dishes and utensils were not clean. A good scrubbing could make this a very nice hotel.

It was conveniently located in town; but the parking was difficult (on the street).

Not quite as advertised, no toiletries, hairdryer or coffee maker. The shower barely worked, just a trickle of water.

We found our room extremely spacious and comfortable. We had a balcony view of both the city and the coast, which was well worth the full cost of the room. While the establishment is run much like a hostel (personnel not always at the desk), the accommodations are certainly first-rate for the price. The experience of being in the heart of the town of Soufriere, overlooking the hubub of St.Lucia culture was one of our highlights. We could certainly recommend The Downtown Hotel for an immersion experience in affordable and comfortable surroundings.

The amazing view of Petit Piton, the harbour and the sea, a free upgrade for me. Internet cafe downstairs, useful when mine broke down. The lovely local people and close attractions.

Very little useful information about anything, and St Lucia is not an easy place to negotiate on your own. And I don't recommend the hotel's "brilliant" taxi driver, Marcus. No single rooms, so I paid for a double, therefore not great value.

Rooms were Big, bed was comfortable

They could find my original booking and the lady said she was going home and couldnt help me if I didnt find proof of my booking. Cleaners were lazy. Didnt clean the floors and only made one bed. Too many beggars watching you exit and enter.

The sea with of Petit Piton Possibility to walk to Botanc gardens, to take a cheap bus to Sulphur srpings and cacao plantations and Tet Paul trail.

Conveniently located in the laid back town of Soufriere, the Downtown Hotel proved to be the perfect "getaway" from the hassle of modern day "life"! The entire staff and the town, by extension, was welcoming, friendly and helpful. The hotel is in close proximity to everything from St. Lucia's natural attractions to modern day conveniences making the town open to exploration. My room was clean and cozy, the hotel peaceful and immaculate. The views from the hotel were absolutely breathtaking, having an ocean view room allowed me to witness some of the most gorgeous sunsets I've ever seen, I even took pictures of the bay throughout the day. Meeting some fellow Trinis allowed me to get the town view as well which was just as amazing as in the daytime as the night. Being in Soufriere is a great way to know what life is really about, making The Downtown Hotel the place to be when visiting St. Lucia.

The Downtown Hotel is a very quiet place. Very relaxing and peaceful. The rooms are very spacious. Staff are excellent. Beautiful city view and ocean view. I love the Chinese's food at the Chinese restuarent. A romantic place for a couple.

It needs more shopping areas. There should be a night or nights to party at the hotel.

Pas de frigo ni de micro ondes dans la chambre contrairement au descriptif A l'étage d'un centre commercial fermé la nuit : on a attendu en bas de l'hôtel 5 minutes que le vigile se réveille pour nous ouvrir ! Rue très fréquentée, pas rassurante

The view was nice, bed was comfortable, they cleaned the room and made the bed every day. Bus stop, shops and restaurants are all close by.

Too noisy, we couldn´t sleep at night because of the noise that came from the streets and from the nightclub. Our room was with street view, maybe the room with sea view is more quiet. Also the hotel staff didn´t give us the information, that our trip to Grenadines was cancelled (for the second time!!!) by Serenity Tours and we waited at 6 a.m. in front of the hotel for a cab that never came.

Sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter mit guten Tipps; absolut zentral gelegen und trotzdem sind einige Straende zu Fuss zu erreichen; sehr grosse Zimmer;

zum Neujahrfest ist es von draussen etwas laut, dann ist es am besten man feiert gleich mit

le manque de confort, l l'hôtel est situé dans un centre commercial et n'a pas d'accès propre ; la propreté laissait à désirer nous avons retrouvé de la poussière sur la table où se trouvaient les brochures etc..; le manque d'eau chaude, pas de fer ni table à repasser alors que c'est décrit dans les équipements de l'hôtel etc...

on est au centre de la vie à Sainte Lucie. On évite le club tout inclus. Trés bonne situation géographique pour visiter de vieux fort jusqu'à castries sur la côte ouest. Le transfert aéroport-hotel est génial avec Discover Soufriere de l'hotel.

Sauberkeit, laut da schlechte Schallisolierung - Musik bis spät in die Nacht, Doppelbett zu schmal für zwei Personen, aufdringliche Menschen vor Hotelausgang
