It's about 9 kilometers from Dambulla so very difficult to eat somewhere else. They know that and therefore it's overprized..
Nice pools and a beautiful garden. Very large bungalows wit a big bathroom.
Expensive, very average food.Big resort feel with lots of tour buses.
Beautiful surroundings. Nice secluded rooms in a forest and lake setting. Lovely pool.
We booked for bed and breakfast but it became obvious that you really dont have any choice but to have dinner here as well as there are not really any other restaurants or bars in the vicinity. Although the food (buffet) was good, at SLR 3,000 a head (£15) was quite expensive.
Hotel is definitely quite luxurious with a fabulous swimming pool, lobby and bar area. We stayed there for the first 2 nights of our holiday and it was the perfect place to unwind and relax. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food good, if a little pricey.
We booked for bed and breakfast but did not really have any choice but to have evening meal as well as there were no other restaurants in the vicinity. The evening buffet was good but a little pricey at SLR 3,000 each (which is about £15) so bear that in mind when booking.
Lovely hotel with beautiful swimming pool. We stayed here for the first nights of our holiday and it was the perfect place to unwind. The hotel definitely had a luxury feel to it. It had a lovely bar area overlooking the pool which was perfect for an evening drink/cocktails. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was good although a little pricey. Overall
Not a high level of customer service. Staff were not very attentive, for any service in the pool or outdoor area you had to walk up to the bar to get attention, there was no initiative given by staff even though they were standing around chatting and watching the cricket most of the time. Food options weren't amazing.
The rooms were beautiful, very clean with a lot of thought given to their presentation. All facilities were excellent and in a very tranquil setting.
Nice environment for relaxation of office pressure.
Very poor wifi connections, I dont expect wifi at all over the hotel, but at least in the lobby connection was very poor.
Staff, Location, the view of surrounding area
food was over priced and lacked variety
the location and the staff were great
Swimmingpool and the room upgrade... Many birds...your between the nature..
On checking in, we were informed (in a pretty appalling way) that it was a compulsory $100 each surcharge to attend their New Year's Eve party.
It's pretty fabulous and the staff team that are not front of house, are lovely helpful people.
Quality accommodation in a beautiful location. Friendly staff, excellent food and facilities
We book a suite with private pool. We can not get to the pool as it was full of "BATS"!!! Although I was in my honeymoon :) the hotel "manager" Mr John refused to change our room, refund the money or change to another "deluxe villa" as he lied of being fully booked were many villas as available to be booked online :(( Also, surprisingly, after checkout they asked the security to close the main gate and not allowed us to go out of the hotel. Me and my wife were lockup by the hotel staff and security and not allowed to leave as one of the small size towels was missing. We explained we have no idea where it is, however, been threaten to contact the police and forced to pay lot of money for such small towel !! The country is a nice safe place. We never experienced such a thing during our trip around Sri lanka. Shame on a five stars hotel .. Lot of insects.
No wifi to the rooms
Gorgeous hotel with friendly staff. Beautiful pool and environment.
In both cabins the sinks flooded , I hate to think what was in the foul water. They did change our rooms , but it was hard to brush off. The internet was very slow , even by Sri Lankan standards
The pool and location
Nice relaxt resorthotel with nice bungalows and beautiful gardens with lakeview. Planned to stay in Heritance Kamala, but was full. Went there for lunch, but happy we booked Amaya Lake (more than half of the price of Heritance Kamala).
The pool has some wired insects swimming all over it! If you have a problem with geko then you might be uncomfortable there The food prices are high
The setup of the resort is great The lake view is amazing
Rooms are some distance from the lobby.paths not well lit. Not much to do in rainy weather. Patchy wi-fi, only accessible from lobby
Fabulous open lobby area, pool, grassy area, beautiful Christmas decorations
Staff need training to handle smooth check-out. 45 minutes to check out is not acceptable. Staff give you the feeling that they are doing you a favour by talking to you!
The location. The room.
Overall disappointing experience, not worth the money spent. Staff not really qualified, obliging or efficient, average food with premium prices.
Wifi does not work but I did not have any single hotel in Sri Lanka where it worked
We were there for New Years night they put on a fantastisic show me the food was amazing
The chalet where we stayed is getting a bit tired and the wifi was poor in the public areas, and non existant in our room
The location of this hotel is fab - really romantic on the lake. The food is good and there is a really wide selection at the buffets. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The massage was fantastic! Nice room with big bathroom
Poor, limited variety in buffet. Issues with TV , complicated
Setting and the relaxed atmosphere Clean, wonderful to walk through the natural garden overlooking the lake especially in the morning
No wifi in the room, weak wifi even in the lobby area, limited F&B options inside the resort
Lush greenery all around the resort, friendly staff, serene lakeside location on the banks of the Kandalama lake, central location to visit other landmarks in the culture triangle
The room smelled very humid and evening dinner-buffet- was not at all refined and the food was cold. Breakfast, not included, was very expensive.
The hotel staff is very friendly, the room was luxurious especially the bathroom.
Sweets and pastries of buffet breakfast.
The location, facilities, staff, hotel landscape and food were excellent. Would love to stay again if visit the area in future. Would like to recommend to anyone.
