Great sized pool and lovely breakfast and evening buffets. Staff were friendly and very attentive, especially in the restaurant.

When trying to arrangea taxi / tuk tuk to Dambulla, the hotel massively overcharged us. As the resort is 9km from Dambulla, it's very difficult to walk out and get your own tuk tuk. Also, I think the bathroom facilities could have been better for the price we paid - not as luxurious as I was expecting.

Easily the best hotel we've ever been! The suites are sooo awesome, the pool area perfect, the lake is beautiful. We loved it!

Wifi only in lobby and confusion at check-in which seems to be the norm in Sri Lanka even in the top hotels.

Very quiet place to unwind, away from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life, staff were very friendly and the buffet breakfast and dinner were excellent.

Not the fault of the hotel but it is quite a distance from the airport, other than that all was fine.

Lovely location on Kandalama lake, quite nice rooms, design of resort good, friendly staff. Lovely Champagne breakfast on lake.

Buffet food huge choice, but poor quality. Aircon not adjustable in room. Wooden Deck chairs without padding. Fans missing in dining area and rooms. No WiFi in rooms.

Breath taking location, Everything was just good, very friendly and professional staff and always ready to assist you with a smile.

No wifi in the rooms, only in the lobby, very disturbing. The only restaurant is very big and busy, so better to order room service if Queuing for food would disturb you, and a lot of insects on the food, they better have an airconditioned room for open food.

The pool was very nice, the views of the lake were beautiful, and our room was very well appointed.

Ordering food at the bar and ala carte at the restaurant was very slow.

Luxury room big and comfortable

Parking extremely small. Our car was blocked by another one. For the number f rooms, should be at least 4 times as large. Ridiculous parking.

Lake Amaya Hotel has a serene location, stone throw from the waters of lake which has a sizable bird population. Cottages are nicely furnished and are quite comfortable. Dambulla cave temples are a sight never to miss.

Place is run over by tour operators. Everyday new groups, new food menu, overcrowded bars and bit slip-shod service.

This is a high-end resort on the edge of Lake Amaya.

It's remote location is a drawback especially since the roads are in poor condition.

The location is really nice, different animals, fresh air, large pool, wood.

Spa was awful.There were dirty towel, dirty rooms, seed oil for massage. I was disappointed.

Courteous and helpful staff - especially Lasitha, one of the managers. Spacious accomodation. Excellent food. Lovely location and grounds.

Noisy and ineffective airconditioning. The lack of movable chairs in the room. They are all built in other than the dressing table stool!

The food is awesome. Food prices are lower than in most other hotels. The room was very clean and attended to every day. The pool is very good.

The staff only think they know English. It took four people to take down our meal order. The hotel is a good choice only if you plan to spend your holiday indoors. Sightseeing is associated with long tiresome journeys to places of scarce interest.

We booked for twin and they confirmed that ,we arrive and we didn't find it the hotel full of Insects

Beautiful well-groomed territory, natural landscapes, magnificent Bungalow. Especially we want to mention the remarkable room service, spa saloon and a wonderful kitchen.

The staff were very friendly, professional and efficient. The Christmas Eve party was excellent with an unbelievable buffet. Prime location on the edge of the lake with lots of wildlife, particularly birds in the hotel grounds. Highly recommended.

This is an excellent establishment and there was nothing to dislike about it.

Superb location set within landscaped park with lake and with plenty of wild life roaming freely within the grounds of the hotel. Overall hotel design/architecture, including pool was superb. Our room (luxury suite) had just been refurbished to a very high standard and was spot on in terms of comfort and design.

Hamaya Lake Hotel is a great base from which to see all the near by historical and religious sites.

Some jewellery was stolen out of a toilet bag inside a closed suitcase whilst we were at the pool. There was a sign in the room to use the safety box though....Maybe we should have known... Rooms are bungalow types and need an urgent upgrade

Spectacular view with Kandlama lake, indulge the precious time reading along the lake. Private villa is quite and comfortable. It costs half price of Kandrama heritage hotel on the opposite, good value for money.

Buffer dinner is unattractive.

The room is great.

The wifi not good. Also the workers want extra money for every single thing. And the menu for extra food is too much expensive. With no sense.
