The bed was comfortable This has got to be the worst lot of people working for a hotel ever! This so called 'boutique hotel' has got staff that lounge out on the guest chairs all day, make disgruntled faces when they are asked to get up to get something, no towels by the pool side, stayed there for 4 days, not once did I see anyone cleaning out the twigs n leaves from the pool. On arrival, there was nobody to greet us, I had to keep the cab waiting, unload the bags myself and walk in to the staff room (where they were all sitting and having a laugh) to ask them to check us in!! The manager is a waste of space.. He did not know where the switches were for the lights, did not know how to operate the safe, mini bar was stinking with really old bottles of pepsi and cobwebs, no information on what time breakfast was served..had to go down early in the hope that it was still available. Limited breakfast choices, most of the food served cold (even though its supposed to be hot). No smiles on anyone's faces. We had booked the place for our honeymoon tour of Sri Lanka and had mentioned it in the booking form. But when we reached there, the manager said "Well nobody told us". Bed is 4 post and comfy but the tv is positioned in such a weird way that if you are in bed, you cant watch tv!! We had to move the entire tv table just so we could see it! Remote controls for tv had very low batt, I had to put in my own to make it work properly. Way too many things for me to mention.. But will never, ever go there again!!

A very relaxing atmosphere in this boutique hotel. A lovely uncrowded hotel even when full. We had a huge bedroom and bathroom which had a definite wow factor. Booking.com said all rooms had a bath - not so, as none of the rooms had a bath. Most bedrooms are within 20 metres of the main coast road (a2), and the traffic can be heard - sensitive sleepers should take ear plugs. A baker's three wheeler drives along the road frequently attracting attention with an "ice cream" jingle! There were multiple lights in the room, but a number of the bulbs didn't work - so it was quite dim at times.

By the beach My family booked directly through jetwin but as they said no rooms available I had to book on bookings.com when the bill came I got a shock as I had to pay 3x more (45,720). The place is a converted house. Unlike the other botique hotels I have been to. It was a common pool. There was no beach and sea not bathable. Service was slow no turn down service and the dirty cups and plates not cleared from common areas. This was an expensive lesson learned

On some days the chef served good food that was well presented. Very disappointing as we felt cheated by the whole experience. They first said that the Garden suite that we booked was under repair and then confessed that they had allotted the room reserved for us to another group. The room then allotted to us was supposed to be of higher category but it had none of the basic amenities of the room we had booked. The hotel lacked the convenience and the extra care that a boutique hotel of this class is supposed to provide. In the room - We were unable to unpack anything from our suitcase as no shelves were provided so - no conveniences like even a toothbrush holder in the toilet. We asked for it but it was not provided. - No convenient hooks in the bathroom to hang up towels, beachwear etc. - White clothes got stained on the only wooden rack provided. - Health faucets etc not working. - Provided soiled shower robes. - Although they profess to be a eco friendly hotel, water served only in small 500ml bottles and charged heavily for every bottle used thereafter. No filter water availability. We were very upset at the room they were trying to palm off and finally they said that they would compensate for the mix up in the booking by providing dinner. But did not compensate with grace as we had to bargain for every small thing that we wanted. They did not clearly specify what they would provide and so we had a harrowing time during check out. Finally, on the last day we shifted to 'Lighthouse' Galle for one night. This was a huge relief as the service and amenities were of a good standard. Regarding payment, they charged my card 3 days before we were to reach there (blocked the amount). On enquiry they said this was the exchange rate on that day and this was what would be charged. Later they debited a higher amount (greater than what they had blocked) to my account.

The food was good and the atmosphere was also lovely. Being able to have a special dining option near the beach was also lovely. The location was also very lovely. Amila the manager at the hotel -was very accomodating The room i have booked specified as "graden view" howvere we were unable to open any of the window's in the room, as there was a wall adjoininng the room! this was dissapointing. And when we asked the hotel staff they mentioned that there were only 2 rooms which were garden view and the others were facing the lobby.

Da localização. Perto de Galle para poder ir de tuk tuk em 10 a 15min, e com a tranquilidade de um hotel dentro da areia. A decoração é linda, super acolhedora.

- Boutique feel; small and intimate setting. You feel as though you are the only guests in the hotel. Service is personalised. - easy access (for us) to Galle / Unawatuna - pleasant reception staff - fantastic food! - not a great range of facilities on site - however, staff were more than willing to accommodate our request to visit the sister hotel, Jetwing Lighthouse in Galle for the day to use the lovely pools there, the spa facilities, gym, etc. - The distance from Galle / Unawatuna may be prohibitively expensive if you are not willing to take the bus into town (which may be tricky if you don't speak Sinhalese / know how the bus system works).
