Friendliness of staff especially the hotel manager. He gave us lots of tips, was really nice and helpful. The pool! On our arrival they made us dinner even though we arrived at midnight from the airport and the kitchen was normally closed. Arranged taxi for us to go to Colombo.
To be honest I can't really complain about anything.
lovely pool. good food and service
a short walk to beach
Close to Unawatuna Beach, only 5 mins walk.Very friendly staff.
Big room size, garden, wifi, dinner, personel, quite.
Bed is not comfortable, room is smelling,
Great pool Great breakfast ;esp Sri Lankan Friendly efficient staff Good location in 'village', not far from beach. Eat at Jina's vegetarian restaurant- amazing local and intl fare
food great, waiters nice, facilities good. not that far from beaches.
do the math when you check out, cashier might calculate "wrongly".
we had a late check in and the room was not yet ready, after a few minutes the gave as a room with different descriptions, we was upset and not happy about what they give us, then they upgrade us to a big and better room, that was nice from them.
unqualified staff, food was not good enough
Friendly staff, nice pool garden, amazing food, rooms
A little bit hide...
Simply amazing Nice staff Room was nice
It's an hidden gem. May be it should do something more to show the presence
Sassi the owner runs this hotel with his faithful ever helpful team to a high standard. The food was always lovely and beautifully presented. The gardens are very well maintained and gorgeous. The pool always spotless and so too the rooms and cabanas. All done with a happy smile by everyone
Very friendly staff, good food in restaurant, very nice swimming pool surrounded by flowers and trees.
Next to buddhist temple, endless loud music for some event continued all night long (2100-0500, then from 0600-0900) so we did not sleep much.
To come off the bustling beach and walk in Hotel Flower Garden is the most calming feeling. The swimming pool and grounds are immaculately kept, the pool is worth its weight in gold after being out in the Sri Lankan sun. The staff are friendly and attentive, the rooms are clean and lovingly decorated.
Location, service, rooms and especially the showers!
Bad garbage smell in breakfast area.
Very nice rooms, a good size, clean pool. Centrally located near Galle and near the beach. So far the best food of Sri Lanka.

Delicious food, nice and kind stuff, pool...It is very peaceful here. very recommend this hotel to all travelers. It is the best destination to relax after the journey.
There was not much to like at this Hotel. The location was at Unawatuna beach area; which is a nice bustling tourist resort. But Flower Garden itself is not on the Beach; it has a long and a convoluted approach to the Beach. The photographs on their website are misleading.
The owner was outright rude on the phone when we called to confirm our booking. We were greeted in a damp and dark room with bugs and centipede on the room wall and Spiders in the bath room. The staff and the management were unable or unwilling to get rid of these in spite of repeated requests. Immediately outside our room resided a large chameleon. The AC was ineffective, while the ceiling creaked all night and made funny noises, which frequently woke us up. When I drew the attention of the staff to this they shrugged it off as nothing The eating area was full of flies and lacked cleanliness. The staff is outwardly friendly but on the constant look out to bill you on extras. Be very careful on what you order and the extras that will be added on to your bill.
We had such a wonderful time at The Flower Garden. I would strongly recommend paying extra for the pent house suite, which featured our own rooftop swimming pool, courtyard and fantastic shower and jacuzzi bath tub. The customer service standards were the best we experienced in Sri Lanka, with friendly and well trained staff going the extra mile to make sure everything is perfect for your stay. We met the hotel owner, who was very kind and interesting and it was lovely to see the owner taking such an active participation and care for the running of the hotel. The food was also incredible and I would definitely recommend trying the dinner menu at least once! Would highly recommend and we'll definitely be returning in the future.
Spacious rooms Nice pool Good location away from crowdy beach Near Galle
Cockroaches and other in the bathroom Area around pool not clean and infested by musquitos
I just love the flower Garden, and stay time after time. Not everyone's cup of tea, if you like 5star Dubai hotels, but I just love it. Home, happy, caring staff.
Mosquitos. Paying for bacon, but happy to live with both!
Staff were fantastic, so helpful. Bed was comfortable, dinner was really nice. Rain shower was lovely.
Breakfast was a bit lacking, fridge had some moldy milk in it. Too much noise from ongoing renovations which woke us up early everyday.
This is where we first checked into after landing in Colombo so it kind of set the tone for the rest of the Sri Lankan experience. It was a scenic train trip from Colombo to Galle and a tuk-tuk from Galle Railway station to the hotel that got us here. We arrived a couple of hours early to our check-in time. Yet the staff was very accommodative and checked us in! The room was excellent to say the least. And it was spotlessly clean too :) It is pretty close to the beach too from the property. The restaurant served only Western food and tasted very good.
The location is a little difficult to find if you are on your own / using public transport like us. Make sure to tell the tuk-tuk the name of the Hotel or if you are taking the local bus, you need to get down at Wella Dewalaya Rd. There was no traditional Sri Lankan food options in the restaurant. Only Western food was available and that was a downer for us since we really expected to kick-off our Sri Lankan experience with a taste of their food ! Otherwise no complaints about this place :)
Big room, comfy bed Good a/c Nice pool Big bathroom with nice toiletries
Bit of a walk to the beach (fine when not mid-day heat!)
