Location, service, rooms and especially the showers!
Bad garbage smell in breakfast area.
Very nice rooms, a good size, clean pool. Centrally located near Galle and near the beach. So far the best food of Sri Lanka.

Delicious food, nice and kind stuff, pool...It is very peaceful here. very recommend this hotel to all travelers. It is the best destination to relax after the journey.
There was not much to like at this Hotel. The location was at Unawatuna beach area; which is a nice bustling tourist resort. But Flower Garden itself is not on the Beach; it has a long and a convoluted approach to the Beach. The photographs on their website are misleading.
The owner was outright rude on the phone when we called to confirm our booking. We were greeted in a damp and dark room with bugs and centipede on the room wall and Spiders in the bath room. The staff and the management were unable or unwilling to get rid of these in spite of repeated requests. Immediately outside our room resided a large chameleon. The AC was ineffective, while the ceiling creaked all night and made funny noises, which frequently woke us up. When I drew the attention of the staff to this they shrugged it off as nothing The eating area was full of flies and lacked cleanliness. The staff is outwardly friendly but on the constant look out to bill you on extras. Be very careful on what you order and the extras that will be added on to your bill.
We had such a wonderful time at The Flower Garden. I would strongly recommend paying extra for the pent house suite, which featured our own rooftop swimming pool, courtyard and fantastic shower and jacuzzi bath tub. The customer service standards were the best we experienced in Sri Lanka, with friendly and well trained staff going the extra mile to make sure everything is perfect for your stay. We met the hotel owner, who was very kind and interesting and it was lovely to see the owner taking such an active participation and care for the running of the hotel. The food was also incredible and I would definitely recommend trying the dinner menu at least once! Would highly recommend and we'll definitely be returning in the future.
Spacious rooms Nice pool Good location away from crowdy beach Near Galle
Cockroaches and other in the bathroom Area around pool not clean and infested by musquitos
I just love the flower Garden, and stay time after time. Not everyone's cup of tea, if you like 5star Dubai hotels, but I just love it. Home, happy, caring staff.
Mosquitos. Paying for bacon, but happy to live with both!
Staff were fantastic, so helpful. Bed was comfortable, dinner was really nice. Rain shower was lovely.
Breakfast was a bit lacking, fridge had some moldy milk in it. Too much noise from ongoing renovations which woke us up early everyday.
This is where we first checked into after landing in Colombo so it kind of set the tone for the rest of the Sri Lankan experience. It was a scenic train trip from Colombo to Galle and a tuk-tuk from Galle Railway station to the hotel that got us here. We arrived a couple of hours early to our check-in time. Yet the staff was very accommodative and checked us in! The room was excellent to say the least. And it was spotlessly clean too :) It is pretty close to the beach too from the property. The restaurant served only Western food and tasted very good.
The location is a little difficult to find if you are on your own / using public transport like us. Make sure to tell the tuk-tuk the name of the Hotel or if you are taking the local bus, you need to get down at Wella Dewalaya Rd. There was no traditional Sri Lankan food options in the restaurant. Only Western food was available and that was a downer for us since we really expected to kick-off our Sri Lankan experience with a taste of their food ! Otherwise no complaints about this place :)
Big room, comfy bed Good a/c Nice pool Big bathroom with nice toiletries
Bit of a walk to the beach (fine when not mid-day heat!)
Very nice rooms, spacious and nice balcony. Very nice and quiet environment . Staff extremely friendly and always smiling! This hotel has a lot of character and is quite intimate! Nothing like a big touristy resort but still has a very nice pool !
No wifi in the rooms
Ambience - the plants all over, the swimming pool, room decor, great breakfast, good food
Away from the beach
Nice hotel, good staff.
Nothing really. Space and beds round the pool are a bit limited.
Staff are always helpful, smile, and quick response. Nice and clean swimming pool, beautiful garden. Dinner is delicious. Big fruits plate for breakfast.
Overall a friendly, good value hotel with a fair bit of character. It was nice to have a private patio with a small garden. Just a 5 minute walk to the beach along a local road. Restaurant food in the evening was good and popular. Breakfasts, service and room facilities were adequate.
Rooms had little natural light and pool surrounds very small.
We loved the beautiful garden and seeing monkeys outside of the balcony. Extended our stay from 2 nights to 6 nights. Breakfast was delish and Unawatuna is a great lil place to be.
Mold in the shower floor, air conditioning was not the coldest
Very nice pool and lots of vegetation around. The location is good, close enough to the beach and plenty of restaurants and shops. Comfortable room.
Staff outstanding. Beautiful gardens. Restaurant serves excellent food at very reasonable prices. With new expressway, using their own taxi it's a very practicable first or last stop.
Great location, close to the beach. Staff very friendly and helpful, welcome drink upon arrival :) I received a free upgrade to a luxury room which was very spacious with a jacuzzi bath and a private pool on terrace! Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Hotel Flower Garden and would highly recommend to anyone visiting Unawatuna.
A very professional run hotel. The staff were trained to very high standards and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and very well presented and good value for money. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
A really nice hotel with an excellent breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. We booked originally two nights but really enjoyed our stay so ended up staying for five nights.
Could have more sunchairs, but otherwise we liked everything
the food was very good a nice and clean place very beautifull around the swimmingpool and the restaurant
The small houses was too dark, too much trees and bushes and the last one we got smell very old inside. We got nr. 16 instead and it was a lovely room.
The swimming pool The rooms are nice The place is beautiful and quiet Breakfast is great
A bit far from the beach
