Beautiful setting in nature. Expect to see bats flying and many bugs in the corridors of the hotel.

The hotel needs a renovation. Given the remote location, guests are forced to eat the mediocre food at the hotel.

Fantastic location. Hard to get there though as it is about 10km from Dambulla. The food was best we have had in Sri Lanka so far. The infinity pool is beautiful as it looks out to the lake. The room was very comfortable. Ambience is devine. It makes a great base to see the surrounding district. Make sure you pay the extra to get a room with a view as its well worth it.

It is very nice idea to built the hotel inside the wild nature and to provide all the services and comforrt as for 5 star hotel at the same time. Grat veiw from the restorant!

Friendly Staff.Nice Views.Clean Rooms. Well maintained swimming pools. The flutist in the dawn was awsome. Overlooking the lake , forest, hearing to nice flute, having a beer with fresh crisps ,nothing else for a relaxing holiday.

pool pathway area was not safe. Extremely dark pathway (wife stubbed toe, tripped, stepped in puddles, etc); Water was not clean.

We loved the location and the views of the lake and hills were spectacular. We equally loved the hotel building itself a master piece by Geoffrey Bawa. Having read about it we were not disappointed it lived up to our expectations and more. We also found having a personal representative to organise our tours and help with any problems brilliant. The food was excellent whether you had a snack on the terrace, the restaurant buffet or chose fine dining in the small dining restaurant. A wonderful place to stay.

The room was a bit disappointing as I had booked a room with panoramic balcony view 6 months before our visit. The room was ok but we would have preferred to be better placed. We had a view which was partially blocked by trees and situated at the end of a main corridor thorough fare so at times it was noisy. There also seemed to be some confusion as to what was a deluxe room, panoramic view room and a luxury double. Our personnal rep wasn't too clear about this and insisted we had a deluxe double and in the end we asked the finnance office when we checked out who kindly clarified things. Our rep did kindly give us a tour so next time we know which room to book. Secondly the wooden sofa in our room had a broken seat and was unsafe to sit on. We reported 4 times and even the engineers came to look at it but it was never mended or exchanged. Thirdly, the hotel's expresso coffee maker was broken and was never fixed during our 5 night stay! We find it difficult to believe that 152 bed luxury hotel only has one machine to serve 3 different dining areas ! So there was no expresso coffee, capuccino or latte. Only Sri Lankan coffee or tea. Plus the hotel provided no Earl Grey Tea - luckily I brought my own with me.

The kitchen staff went all out on New Years Eve. The menu is about 20 years past the use by date but the portion size is huge.

This hotel did not live up to expectations on many levels. Overpriced. For the price we paid we should have expected 5 star plus. Spend your money elsewhere! It is not a truly 'green' hotel and the horseriding is an absolute joke! We were told that hot air ballooning wasn't possible on the day of our stay - a major drawcard for booking - only to watch the hot air balloon go up at sunrise.

Very, VERY nice hotel, I loved the spa treatment (balinese), maybe the best I ever had. The room was perfect and a lot of monkies came to visit. Ps! Close the door, or else.. They will get in;) The shower was amazing and with a open view to the jungle. Hope to come back ;)

Long way to go... to everything! I am used to walk out...then POOL. But not a big problem. ;)

The setting and the location. Beautiful

They offer you welcome drinks when you arrive and then later charge you for it. I felt a bit cheated.

I loved the beautiful, natural setting. Hearing all the sounds of the surrounding jungle at night and having monkeys visit our balcony in the morning was a sure highlight!

The bathroom did not have any carpets on the tile, which was dangerous. I had to use my towel and then I didn't have a towel for my shower, which was inconvenient. The hotel should also be sure that tissues are provided as I sneeze a lot in the morning (typically) and it was frustrating to have to use toilet paper.

Perfectly placed for Wildlife and outdoor fun. The fine dinning restaurant is nice and much preferred the buffet one downstairs. It is amazing and very different in terms of layout to anywhere we have ever been so the experience was great. There are multiple excursions and activities you can book from the hotel.

Very expensive in comparison to Sri Lanka but not better in terms of food or drink. It is at least twice as expensive as other hotels in the country of a similar standing and we felt the service and food was no better if not actually a little worse. The hotel should definitely look at bringing itself into line with Sri Lankan pricing or make itself the standard of a 5 star hotel. Sadly, it lacks in this area, especially in the food and drink area.

When I tried to pay in Dollars, the exchange rate was exaggerated. The hotel is expensive.

Choice of restaurants for such a quality hotel was poor. The "oriental " themed a la carte was very ordinary and the large buffet style was reasonable but far from great

The food was outstanding, particularly the a la carte restaurant. Views were amazing. Great facilities. Welcoming food snacks! Super comfy bed.

Spa area was awesome but a little ?dated/corroded. Light switches weren't very convenient (haha).

the charges are crazy! on any order they charge 26 percent tax and service charge. Tours arranged by hotel are much more expensive than outside and if you search you can find some other private companies for almost half price. other hotels give you option but in this hotel the only option is what they offer.
