Service by the staff, location, ambience and tasty food
Location up in the hills was stunning.
The atmosphere of the hotel was not comfortable or welcoming. Compared to other locations in Sri Lanka it is very expensive.
Excellent view, wonderful idea to turn the tea factory into hotel, extraordinary pleasant and helpful staff incl front desk, good cuisine in the restaurant for dinner. There are some great relaxational places on the territory like cottage with lawns and gardens looking on the hills and clouds, mini tea factory. And tea plantations are all around!
Not all room have pleasant view and quiet (I have changed two rooms for the three-day stay;)), breakfast is rich but surprisingly tasteless, even freshly made omelette. But atmosphere in the hotel and around is great.
The hotel is an old Tea Factory. Nice view top on the mountain. Welcoming tea
View in the morning was great and good dining room . Staff very nice and attentive. Singer in dining room was great .
Cold shower, didn't have the fizz advertised on menu so had "Kramer" (disgusting) don't have it ! Also charged extra for them to deliver it to the room ? Mini bar !! V poor nothing in it . Set menu not great !
1. The views from hotel were great 2. Hotel is in the redesigned old tea factory 3. Has a small special restaurant in the old train wagon, which should be reserved ahead.
1. The location is hard to access, far from everywhere 2. The staff unprofessional. poor bar quality 3. Restaurant and hotel are overpriced
The character of this hotel is not easily found in others ! An experience of a time gone by , reliving the good ol days ! Was lovely .
The souvenir shop was not captivating
Location was a bit remote and nowhere to walk from hotel. High tea was very disappointing - had to send back tea twice because it was cold and waited almost an hour for it. A lot of staff but service vey slow - willing but useless! In hindsight should have stayed in Nuwara Eliya town
Warm and helpful staffs special welcome ceremony lovely tea experience Great view (sunrise and sunset） Good buffet Great facilities
transportation ( maybe offer free shuttle from city center）
Loved the location, surrounded by tea plantations, beautiful view, misty mountains, very nice ambiance, staff extremely friendly and helpfull, tea plucking excursion. It was all very special.
Amazing looking hotel, very unique
Staff, attention to detail, impeccable service and amazing location.
Location, staff, clean rooms, child playground, restaurant, hotel style, reception, welcome tea
there are few walking sound from above rooms
Location and landscaping Indian food
- Worst staff attitude ever met in life - You can't see your room unless you pay the full amount as they have experience issues with guests before "as told by their GM".
Beautiful location and views, lovely inside and really enjoyable tea tour and high tea in the bar.
Noisy room situated next door to the lift.
The food, the staff, the quality of the room and the exceptional environment. The hotel is just amazing in terms of decoration and situation.
Wifi very slow in the rooms
Good view,comfortable temperature,nice food.
The views were absolutely stunning!
Perhaps too pricey
The location it's amazing, great experience.
It's not a bad thing but I stayed there for 1 night and it was more than enough. Of course it depends on the kind of trip you want to do.
Every think is great
The accommodation was amazing and the staff exceedingly friendly and helpful. The meals were superb and served by very capable and attentive staff. The Manager stepped in and made arrangements for transport for our Horton Plains walk immediately when we informed him that our private driver was not able to take us.
Cost of hotel tours was a bit prohibitive. As part of the Heritance group of hotels it would be good if there was some consistency in product offerings. The packed breakfast for early morning walks on the Horton Plains could do with some improvement (or maybe we chose the wrong option)
Experience to stay in a tea factory.
Very bad food. Breakfast terrible. You don't have alternatives. The hotel is far away from anywhere. Too much expensive for the context. Food is really bad.
-location of the hotel, amids the tea fields : breathtaking views of tea-growing slopes -concept of the tea factory turned into a hotel -while preserving some key architectural and tooling features- gives a great & unique ambiance -2-hour walk within the tea plantations organised by the hotel itself is a must (several others activitites with very reasonable price) -you can easily spend 2 days around, enjoying the location in the stunning nature surroundings: a welcomed break as you spend long hours in transportations on the roads of Sri Lanka -not so far from the old colonial town of Nuwara Eliya (about 30 minutes)
- quality of the a-la-carte menu was not great (we haven't tried the buffet though)
Great location with regards to views, surrounded by tea plantations, vegetable gardens and a lovely village. Amazing hotel, lovely rooms, great place to relax, eat and enjoy
One less than friendly staff member in the bar. The railway carriage restaurant food could improve (but a fun experience)
