Jetwing Beach  

A lovely place to relax, especially before or after a flight. Huge rooms with balconies overlooking a gigantic long pool and the sea. Plentiful sunbeds under the palms overlooking the sea. Two beach cafes with nice food reasonably priced . Two good restaurants . We loved the ground floor restaurant (which is a la carte) and has open views over the trees. Had delicious Sri Lankan meal one night and excellent Thai soup , and seared yellow fin tuna with scallops in a ginger vinaigrette with tiny crisp French fries! One of the best appetisers of the trip ! Marvelous that you can walk down the beach 5 -10 minutes and visit a couple of fishing villages early morning as they sort their catch. And there is a fish market. Plenty to visit from here if you decide to stay longer.

The hotel charges three times the normal price for its taxi service to the airport. It's only a 20 minute trip. .At night the room felt gloomy. Rather poorly lit and an absence of colour. We had to sort out a few problems with the room. The hotel fixed these within minutes. The blinds over one window did not work . A hinge was coming undone in a cupboard. The nectvday thevkey got stuck in the door and the lock was changed within minutes. The lever for the plug in the sink did not work and we lifted it in and out. On the last morning it jammed which we reported. However we thoroughly enjoyed our stay snd the swift response was impressive.

Remains the best hotel along the stretch. I love the breakfast buffet - especially the hoppers with egg.

Wi-Fi in rooms could be improved.

All of the staff were very friendly, nothing was too much hassle. The room was spacious and very comfortable, in particular the shower room. The fine dining restaurant provide a high standard of food, drink and service.

After a excellent evening meal, we felt that the breakfast experience was a let down. The staff fried the eggs in a dirty frying pan, producing black burnt bits on the egg. The fresh fruit juice was watered right down, leaving very little flavour and there seemed a prolonged wait for the cook to finish off the recooked bacon and to top up the beans. Also in the early hours there was a lot of noise coming from around the poo from a large number of either male guests or locals. It appeared that security either reacted very late to the situation or not at all.

The food was reasonably good and the restaurant staff were attentive if a little behind the level of service of a supposed 5 star hotel.

The bedrooms are a bit tired, and the views to the beach in most rooms are restricted due to the trees in front. The biggest gripe I have is about the efficiency of the way our payments were taken. As I booked with booking.com the credit card you use to hold the booking was charged in full the day before we arrived. Once we found this out the whole process became a mess. I have returned home to find this has not been rectified and will now take a considerable amount of time to sort out.as there were 6 of us this has become an expensive problem.

We took a breakfast and lunch pack as we went on a trip to Kandy, starting early in the morning. While the breakfast and lunch options at the hotel were excellent the content of the breakfast and lunch packs was abysmal. 2 cheese sandwiches, leg of chicken an apple and soft drink pack. Would not recomend taking this option.

Das Personal war überaus freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Essen im Fine Dining Restaurant war vorzueglich und die Preise dazu absolut fair. Frühstück ist sehr ordentlich. Der Strandbereich war sehr sauber und die Liegen waren ausreichend vorhanden. Der Service ist absolut in Ordnung.

Das Zimmer war deutlich zu teuer. Wifi ist zwar fast überall vorhanden aber sehr schwach. Der Pool macht keinen sauberen Eindruck. Der Fitnessbereich ist mehr als schlecht. Geräte sehr alt, Air-Con. kaum spürbar, Raum viel zu klein etc.

We loved its close location to the Airport as we were only there for an overnight stay. The staff and service was very good and the fine dining experience in the Black Coral restaurant was fantastic and fantastic value for money, unbelievably cheap.

Nothing we had no complaints at all.

wonderful staff - very friendly and helpful - the pool is great with perfect temperature and large enough to actually swim. The breakfast tea was best I have had.

Bon, nous on l'a payé plutôt cher pour ce que c'était ... le serveur du bar de la piscine m'a répondu à deux reprises qu'il n'y avait pas ce que je voulais alors qu'un autre serveur me l'a amené; le personnel ou du moins certains ne sont pas très serviable et plutôt minimaliste mais on est bien situé soit proche de l'aéroport, la chambre est spacieuse et on y mange relativement bien. Un superbe massage au spa (le meilleur que j'ai eu au Sri Lanka). Au dîner, le personnel ne remet pas forcément les mets qui sont terminés ... en bref cher pour ce que c'est même si l'hôtel est correct et se donne un genre qu'il n'arrive pas à assumer ...

It's not 5-star quality in terms of room appearance, but it's way better than a lot of other hotels in Sri Lanka.

All members of staff in the hotel were very good, especially the butlers, Rashan and Sanjay. They could not have been more helpful.

The persistent hawkers were a pain and the beach could much, much cleaner. There was far too much rubbish around and about.
