the location of the resort is about 35 KM far from the GPS data received at the time of the booking. This can be a serious concern if you are driving by yourself under difficult conditions. You should take care about those informations giving to your customers. Regards Alfred
Excellent hotel, perfectly trained and friendly staff, natural stylish environment , good food
Staff were friendly and service was good. Rooms were comfortablly furnished.
It did not live up to its name "Jungle". Other than the walk ways most area was covered with Ivy like weed covering the vegetation. Breakfast was disappointingly same every day and main meals were overly expensive for what you got.
The lay out and decor of the resort is lovely. Beautiful pool area! Right on a stunning beach with a beach bar. The breakfasts were of a 5 star standard! Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were spacious and nicely decorated. Did the dinner on the beach which was an amazing experience.
Is quite pricey but definitely worth it.
Very good overall facilities and services.
altogether awesome hide-away, an ideal place for honey moon, or someone seeking for quiet and privacy, cool free-time activities,
due to strong wind we had quite heavy noise in our cabin at night some days
We stayed at the Jungle Beach Resort in August. The location is amazing, with a great beach. We had a super two night stay and wished we had booked for longer The bungalow accommodation is first class, and the staff very attentive and friendly. Best breakfasts during our stay in Sri Lanka.
The resort design and the whole idea is great,
- You can find insects, snakes and some animals same like crocodiles. - The employees are smily but they like to ask personal quistions to guests. - It's better if they have private rooms with private swimming pools. -The location is very far away from Colombo airport, so it's too difficult to get in there easily. - The "set menu" dishes is not enough sufficiency as dishes quantity of ingredients.
We stayed at the Jungle Beach Resort for 4 nights. We enjoyed a lot the beach: huge, amazing and secluded. The food was absolutely excellent: western food and some local dish, everything was fresh and well done. Our room, in the jungle, was comfortable and very clean. Finally, the staff: very helpful!
Great 'postcard' beach; Full, exclusive and friendly service; Outstanding diverse & delicious breakfast, fresh orange juice was best in class, but costs extra; Restaurant expensive, but worth every Rupia, exquisite regional dishes; Luxurious chalet-style apartments built individually into the jungle; Rooms are spacious, stylish, clean & fully equipped
WiFi was sometimes quite slow; the disadvantage of the awesome beach location is its remoteness, there are two or three destinations in the proximity worth a visit, everything else is a 1.5-2h drive; false location on the booking.com-map is misleading
Great room, delicious food, perfect beach and quiet location.
Staff excellent and welcoming. Food great, even to separate vegetarian menu but you have to ask for it at breakfast. Beautiful location. Got late check out without paying extra. Excursions easy to book and at late notice.
The location is quite far up the coast from Trinco. The scuba diving trip organised through the hotel was with a company not of the same standard. Diving company did not feel reputable or safe. Dolphin watching trip good but overpriced.
Getting away from everything and being surrounded by nature in an Eco environment.
Would like the spa to be up and running
We loved so many things about this place - the eco commitment, fabulous and large jungle room, outdoor shower, out of this world food, high standard of service, amazing breakfasts and the beautiful beach. It really is worth paying that bit more for
It's quite remote. We hired bikes to cycle to the next town as a day out which gives opportunity to try out other restaurants. We stayed for 3 nights, any more and we would have been struggling to find things to do. But perfect for a getaway from it all
Style of resort Good quality food but menu doesn't change. Friendly staff Lovely Empty Beach Fantastic trip snorkelling to pigeon island with Sham and Sajith Denver was very helpful and attentive organising everything we wanted to do very efficiently
Spa not on site as is advertised and transport not provided to outside spa Constant sweeping outside of chalets at silly hours of the morning Although staff were very friendly and helpful the restaurant was lacking in more experienced staff not what I would expect at a 5* resort.
- staff is really friendly. - breakfast is huge and delicious - superb swimming pool - quite place ideally fro couples.
- its not 2.4 km from Trinco as shows on the website it's 27 km.
Despite having to travel about 15k from the center of town, arriving at the hotel is truly delving into a luxurious jungle. The concept of the resort is spot on with shade trees arching over footpaths, a boardwalk over the decorative lagoons filled with blooming water lilies, and breezy seating areas facing the coconut trees and beach. The premises are well-constructed but the service is still evolving. Housekeeping service was not consistent, with garbage left in the room and bed left half made. One night we had to send the dinner bill back three times for corrections. There seemed to be an abundance of staff on duty at all times, but sometimes a water refill or drink order would take quite long. During dinner, 4-5 different staff members would visit the table for various things and ask the same questions. The sentiment is nice, but was often disruptive and annoying. The hotel serves a set menu with a smaller a la cart menu each day. Some dishes were a bit too ambitious and the weak execution may not warrant the price. Several fish and prawn dishes were over-cooked and some cocktails were off. Though these are common mistakes elsewhere, the prices demanded higher quality and more precision. But, the staff was genuinely interested in improving, bartenders made changes to drink recipes, and some of the dishes we ate were top notch. The breakfasts were done extremely well with a fruit and bread tray and then one’s choice of a hot dish. The beach was one of the best features of the hotel as the private, extensive beach has no other resorts in sight. Umbrellas, lounge chairs and towels were provided and a little beach bar station was nearby for delicious local coconut and rum cocktails. There were no children at the resort during our stay (mostly couples 30-50 years old), however, the hotel indicated separate parts of the beach for families.
We were impressed by the professionalism of all staff, the design and quality of the buildings and the quality of food. thoroughly recommend.
Everything was perfect if you look for a honeymoon place or something quiet. The resort is really isolated from the anything so you can see the wildlife (monitors, squirel, birds, snake, iguana...) in front of you cabin. The staff is very forendly and ready to assist all your need. The restaurant is good but I felt the choice limited if you stay a long time. We had an amazing time there.
There was oil mixed to the sand everywhere. If you don't have transportation, it is impossible to even do the smallest shopping by yourself. Be careful with the wales and dolphin watching, we never sees them. I think they are overselling it.
location and design of the hotel
