The rooms were large and the beds were comfortable. -There was no reception, management, or anyone who could properly speak English present. There is only a butler and a cook. -Didn't see a menu until we were checking out, when I had asked for one at the beginning of our stay my question was met with a goofy smiled "what would you like to eat?", implying that there was none. -I found it odd that a hotel that guarantees your booking with a credit card, only accepts cash upon check out. It wasn't mentioned anywhere, and so upon leaving we were escorted by 3 men from the property to the nearest village atm to pull cash, which made us feel like some sort of criminals. -As mentioned in other reviews, it really is in the middle of nowhere, and a minimum of an hour away from Kandy, which isn't how they make it seem in their profile. There was no proper signage and so our driver struggled to find it, driving up nauseating winding roads, stopping repeatedly to ask villagers for directions. The telephone listed isn't the number of the property, but rather the office number in Colombo, and so we weren't able to get proper directions that way either. -The hot water went in and out for our first 2 days and there was no hot water at all in our bathroom on the 3rd. With nobody to speak to about the problem, we didn't bother trying. -We were originally booked for 4 nights, but they had double booked and asked us to leave for our fourth scheduled day. Our booking was accepted online, and it was a 7 hour drive to get here, so we didn't want to move to a 'nearby' property for our last night since I'm travelling with my 64 year old mother with a heart conditon. I tried to explain as much and was scolded for being 'difficult' by the property's owner over the telephone and hung up on. Since we were in the middle of nowhere, and there was no Internet at the property, we were stuck in a hostile situation with no way out.
