Rude Staff, Very far from everything and bad roads, bad food, shabby and worn rooms.

Excellent surroundings, nice pool, nice rooms, quiet, beautiful beach and very relaxed atmosphere and great location.

Advertised Tennis Court which is now a car park. Massage booked but didn't materialise for some reason.

The manager was friendly on check in and seemed to care about his guests. Setting is pleasant on the beach and a walk on the beach in the late evening or early morning was enjoyable.

Hotel has potential but rooms are in need of some refurbishment. The A/C is old, worn and noisy, the fan, which didn't work when we arrived - although they fixed it promptly, had only one speed, was also noisy and was falling off the ceiling. Hotel's transfer to airport was pricey. Food service was slow, I don't think they liked it as we chose from the menu instead of the more expensive buffet, however was tasty when it eventually came.

The lovely gardens with palms swaying gently and green undulating lawns, the swimming pool and the great sound of the ocean seeping into the rooms, washing away all stresses that one might have brought back from the hectic materialistic cities that we choose to live in, the spacious and clean rooms, with comfortable beds and pillows and the bare, cool tiled floors where children sometimes imported sand from the nearby beach. The comfortable extra beds provided for children and the balcony. A great breakfast buffet with lots of fresh-fruit and almost all types of Sri Lankan food is a good way to enter the spicy culinary scene of the country. To complete the beautiful memories on our last day there, a band of SriLankan singers sang English, Sinhalese and Indian songs on request over dinner.

The showers need to be changed. Water flow is too slow. We used two different rooms and both had the same problem. While mixing hot and cold, the water is either piping hot or cold. Mixing happens at a particular fine and brief point which is difficult to ascertain, particularly with patience getting thin and tiredness of the day getting the better of senses. The fact that they charge for wi-fi and one has to purchase these little cards with password etc. It is inconvenient to put in passwords and usernames and while on the move, communication is crucial. They need to consider providing free wi-fi as so many of the SriLankan Guest houses do now. The chairs in the garden and the balcony need to be more stylish and comfortable. Plastic outdoor furniture does not do a lot and ruin the image of the rest of the place. The hotel is great for children but the facilities are not adequate and staff are not always sensitive to the needs of children. The spicy fare is great but a few more child friendly options will add more fun. A suggestion is to add a children's play area and/or family dining areas. Also the juices in the breakfast should be fresh. The hotel is rather pricy and so the quality of food should match the price.
