We spent a week in this hotel, and it was a really enjoyable stay. Sumith, his wife and all the stuff are incrediblly helpful, they make everything to give you a feeling that you're in home and not in a simple hotel. Unawatuna is one of the best beaches on the South-West, even the best one in the middle of April - because there were big waves everywhere but not here. Breakfast is really big, with lots of fresh fruits. You can have a delicious supper on the beach (I highly recommend you the 'Lucky Tuna' - best in whole Sri Lanka). It's really calm in the hotel, there is even a big library(books in all lunguages). Rooms are comfortable, very clean, with spacy bathrooms and good equipement. And with a very big beautiful bed. You can choose this hotel, if you'd like to be sure to have a comfortable, intresting You need to cross the road in order to get to the beach; breakfasts could be a little bit more variable. But in general, honestly, we didn't see any serious defeсts

Very warm welcome and personal treatment throughout the whole time by the staff and owners. Inside decoration is very tasteful. Excellent breakfast! Hotel lies directly on a busy road. Care needed to cross road to reach beach. Road is noisy for front rooms.

The owners of the Ridee Villa were amazing hosts. We were treated to a free 8 course banquet on our first night (we had a VIP room), it was superb and made by the host. They did everything in their power to make our stay amazing, I just can't say enough good things about Ridee and the owners. The design was great, the staff warm and friendly 5 out 5 on every level. They made our stay so memorable, we want to come back. There was nothing to dislike about this place. It was superb.

Hospitality, staff is very friendly, the owner and his wife very helpfull. Clean rooms, beautiful bathroom, lot of fruits for breakfast. Very close to the beach, just pass the road. Also very close to Galle, nice trip with tuktuk to the fort. Very close to the road, so a little bit noisy.

Beautiful inside and out, Ridee Villa has to be the best place to stay in Unawatuna. While on a busy road, you are unaware of it once you walk through the heavy wooden gates into its attractive courtyard garden. On entering the villa, you are immediately welcomed by the owner, Sumith, whose courtesy, helpfulness and desire to please along that of his staff continues throughout your stay. A wonderful find and will certainly return when next in Sri Lanka

An excellent nice villa, very clean, nice pleasant staff. The owners are very kind people, very welcoming and caring. Upon arrival they met us with cool fresh pine apple juice, which was so nice after a long trip. Perfect service, they can organize everything you wish in a few minutes - transport, massage, day or longer trips, sghtseeing, etc. Rooms are comfortable and clean, nice bathrooms. Very comfortable bed and pillow, which is very important to me.They give beach towels and water every time you go to the beach. Nice and full breakfast, lots of different fruits every morning. The owner and his personel got up very early in the morning on our last day and prepared us breakfast, which we haven't even expected. Thanks a lot!!! Location of Ridee villa is very good, very close to a nice Unawatuna beach, you have only to cross the street. No noice from the busy beach restaurants. Jungle beach is a few minutes Tuk-tuk drive. Galle city is also close - 4km. It's nice to have a walk in the fort and old part of the city, especially in the evening, we liked watching sunsets there. Ridee villa is a really perfect place to stay in. We'd surely come back there again.

Very open and adorable family owns hotel and Sumith (Owner) do his best to help with any cases: organizing trips, buying things, recommendations... Nice choice of fresh fruits on the breakfast, good service, clean rooms. 2 min walk from beach side, restrains and bars, but calm and the road which is close does not affect at all. We sow huge lizard (about 1 m length) walking around but never felt us more safe than here. Sri Lanka rules on additional 12 % vat for the room price was a bit surprising, as I did not read carefully "Not included in room price: 12 % vat, 10 % service charge." but it is not the reason not to select Ridee Villa again.

Absolutely brilliant staff and amenities -could not fault anything about this place. We were made to feel welcome, breakfasts were exceptional and all- in- all a top choice of accommodation. Could not fault it - even though it is not situated directly on the beach we are glad we chose Ridee Villa!

My wife and I stayed at Ridee Villa for 6 nights in December in a superior double room. We found the room to be very clean, spacious and tastefully decorated. The room had a safe and fridge but no tv - this is something we think should be included for the price. The room was cleaned daily and fresh towels provided as well as fresh fruit on the first day. There was a huge selection of food and drinks for breakfast and the staff were very friendly and attentive at all times. Sumith organised a fishing trip for us with a local operator and kindly had our fish cleaned and cooked for dinner that night (no charge). He also organised a whale watching tour for us, scooter hire for one day and a driver to take us around Sri Lanka on a 6 day road trip. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a great stay at Ridee Villa and would recommend it to anyone looking to spend some time in Unawatuna. One downside is the location of the hotel. It is not on the beach - whilst it is extremely close to the beach (2 min walk) it may not satisfy those wishing to have water views or wanting to relax at their hotel whilst at the beach. The upside of this of course is that it you can avoid the noise from the regular beach parties at night! That said, beach towels and cold drinking water are provided every day free of charge and there are plenty of restaurants and sun lounges on the beach for those wanting to relax there.

This is a wonderful guesthouse - from the initial warm welcome the owner Sumith and all the staff make you feel at home. Nothing is too much trouble. The guesthouse is spotless and a beautiful building and interior - better in real life than on the website. The breakfasts were great. Thoroughly recommend

Having travelled throughout South East Asia and India I can honestly say that the staff at Ridee Villa's are by far the most helpful and friendliest staff I have ever come across in my life. That goes from the Owner himself right down to the receptionist. The Manageress was excellent and couldn't help enough. I can't praise them enough. The rooms are spotless, cleaned daily. The beds where very comfortable and covered with a nice mosquito net. The hotel is located about 3 minutes walk from the beach, which is nice, because the beach can be a little loud on friday and saturdays. Not a dislike, but the road the hotel is on is very busy. But on the brightside, it's great for catching Tuk-Tuks.

Great staff, super friendly and accomodating, warm welcome, complimentary breakfast on arrival as we arrived earlier than expected. Dinner that night which was mouthwatering. Hotel is across the road from the beach, On the main road so can the sound of traffic can be disturbing.
