We stayed 1 night in a brand new treehouse. Exciting for the kids to wake up with the sound of birds around the house. We saw many birds and squirrels around. While we were there there were no other guests around, felt a bit deserted, especially at night. But the manager told us the place was fully booked for the night after we left.

we stayed in the new treehouse which offers good comfort with nice bathroom and large living room and sleeping room the new restaurant looks stylish and offers good food. With the friendly staff (and new good manager) this renovated hotel is well worth a visit

the dogs of the neighbours were very noisy the first night which kept us awake. The staff tried their very best to keep the dogs quite the second night which gave us a better rest

Friendly and ever helpful staff, and charming accommodation. If you want an eco resort this is the place to go, and as it settles into its landscape it will only get better!

Great little eco hideout. Very attentive staff, always ready to help. Excellent safari guide and sightings. Food was local and very flavourful. Glad we made this booking. Booked a mud chalet but was upgraded to a tree house. Everyone should experience sleeping in a tree house. Such fun!

    Interesting open air bathroom

We had booked the tree house but the presence of a big lizard and a snake, situation unresolved by the manager made us be relocated to a floor bungalow at our request. Very dirty mattresses. Bathroom unclean. The sheets of the bed were torn and dirty. Very overpriced for what it is.Not recommended at all We regret spending 2 nights there

The tree house was cool to play in but not to sleep in.

Extremely bad value for money!!! And you don't get that "out in the djungle"-feeling at all. Motorbikes all night and a disco in a distant. Horrible place to be honest!

Saraii was such a treat. The tree houses were really fun, we extended our stay because we wanted to sleep at least one night on a tree house. It was like living a childhood dream. I am so amazed with this concept. The manager explained that in Sri Lanka local farmers use tree huts to watch over their fields and these tree houses were inspired by this tradition. The food was excellent, all traditional, village cuisine. Some of the most flavorful food I have ever had. Staff were very efficient and helpful, and I know I will be back to experience their hospitality. Game ride was fun, didn't see a leopard but saw many elephants and several crocs. Loved the location, the chalets and tree houses, the people, the food, can't ask for anything more.

Saraii is one of the most beautiful locations I have ever been too. The food is delicious, so fresh and from the village. The room we booked was a ground chalet and it was large, comfortable and colourful. The staff were very friendly and always ready to help. The tree houses looked really interesting too, the manager let us take a look and I bet sleeping on the tree house would have been so much fun, but since we had only one night in Yala we could not extend our stay. Had we known what a special place this is we would have definitely spent more time. If you do go there, make sure to get your meals from Saraii, the choices, cleanliness and taste cannot be compared. Ask for the lake shrimp, which is their signature dish. Amazing!

The staff was amazing! They made us feel so special. We were the only ones staying there, since it was during to off season. The food cooked just for us was the best we had during our 12 day trip around Sri Lanka. Making it even more special by the effort the staff went through to set the mood. We loved our stay!

The only downside was that we, especially the kids got flogged by mosquitoes the first night. The second night though, the staff brought out extra nets and citronella spray.

Fun fun and more fun! Saraii is a romantic little hideout. Not too far from the town, just about 2 kms, but tucked away in a little forest patch. We celebrated our first wedding anniversary and believe me it was romantic and this is the best place for giving a surprise to your wife or girlfriend. The staff support you fully to make it memorable. My wife was shocked but extatic to sleep on the cute tree house. Waking up on the tree house was amazing. Singing of the birds, especially the screech of the peocock was fun. The peacocks walk about freely morning and evening. We did a tour around Tissa town, including a boat ride in the Lake. The religious ceremony at Kataragama was great. Very inspiring, loud and colourful. Loved Saraii and will definitely come back. Amazing concept.

This is one of the best hotels i've ever been to. Staff at Saraii are the most hospitable i've come across in Sri Lanka. Since its a small resort, they give you more personalized service. The tree house was a dream. My wife and kids were so thrilled. This is literally atleast 25 feet above the ground and the tree sways with the wind. Its very safe with a railing all around and my kids of age 4 and 5 loved it. They were enacting Tarzan and Jane. The food was the best we had in the South. The spread of local vegetables and fresh seafood and meats were simply delicious. You can request them to reduce the spices, if you prefer, but I'd say go with what they prepare as thats spot on. Game ride was organized by Saraii and they use only good drivers and guides who took very good care of us and explained what we were looking at. Saw the leopard and elephants, lots of deer, crocodiles, a cobra! The hotel arranged for a ride immediately when what we had planned fell through, and gave us a better rate than what we would have paid before. They were so nice, they packed us delicious Chicken sandwiches for the ride for free. I'd come back anyday.

The experience at Saraii was phenomenal, I loved it. If you are not a true nature lover, dont go there. But if you love nature and you want a real experience SARAII is the place to be. Love the ambiance, the food was Sri Lanka and a large spread. Lake Shrimp is a must. Yala ride was bumpy but fun. the manager helped me join some of the other guests at the hotel, so was able to split my cost. Service is excellent at Saraii, they aim to please. They are listed as a top 10 tree house in the world as well and its very understandable why. I am very happy with my choice. Gonna bring my family here next time i'm in Sri Lanka. My son would love the tree house, felt sad enjoying it all by myself. Imagine waking up to the singing of the birds and falling asleep in a gently swaying tree. Simply amazing.

    Cant think of anything bad.
