Bitten by insect Bad allergic reaction
Pusbah the manager and staff
The experience was fantastic.
The bread for breakfast, but there are local alternatives.
We loved the tree house and being close to nature. The tree house has power sockets and a fan to keep you cool. You are only covered by a mosquito net so you get all the noises of the countryside, including the wake-up peacock calls. The manager is happy to take you on a walk to see the wildlife, all the staff are very helpful. With a 3 year old we were a bit worried about staying high in the tree house but you just have to be careful. It was everything that you would expect from a tree house and more.
very bad value for money - dinner and safari are much overprized! further we got a smaller tree-house than booked (which was ok!), but had to pay the higher prize of the booked one; hot water would have been nice
nice area, the tree-house was great, everything was clean
Hotel is hard to find. Too many animals in the room, frog,worm,spider...... Hard to find the staff in the morning to get our breakfast before going to Yala.
tour prices at hotel have significant commission so very expensive. The western couple who run the place were a little stand offish and unfriendly. Wifi only worked for half out stay. Long way from any town and very few drivers knew of it so it took a long to locate. The mosquito nets were very dirty and full of wholes. As two 24 year olds it was fantastic but very basic, steep and quite dangerous for those who are not at peak fitness
1.authentic tree house- novelty factor 2.peaceful( minus construction work) and safe 3.value for money 4.good food 5.main staff member Pushpa was extremely helpful and did everything he could to help
Food and activities are expensive.
No WiFi the whole time we were there. Treehouses have no walls so can be noisy at night, earplugs definitely recomended. Extremely overpriced wine in the restaurant, they only sell by the bottle and don't have it on the menu so you're not aware of the outrageous cost, sneaky!
What a cool treehouse, you get 2 floors all to yourself. So beautiful. Very peaceful in the day, isolated location but you can hire bikes and cycle round the area. You have to eat there as there is nowhere else around but the food is fantastic. We did the cooking course which was basic but interesting. Staff are really friendly. Beautiful stray dogs everwhere who are grateful for your leftovers. Would love to go back.
No warm water or Sun chairs. The service at the restaurant can be sometimes not very fast.
I booked a room on a tree. Beautiful experience! You can See peaceful buffalos graze few meters from you and peacocks in the yard. Smily and helpful staff.
Very attentive staff, great fun experience, like a little mini adventure in itself. Bicycle tour was fun. Loved it.
Mosquito nets provided full of holes. Nowhere to sit comfortably in tree house - needs cushions or something. Description on site for a deluxe hut (i think) doesn't match what we got. Tours offered over priced. Food very average.
My daughter enjoyed staying in a tree house.
the tree houses look very luxurious in the internet, but the pictures that you can find there are only from one single category, even though we booked the "superieure treehouse" for 170$ per night, it was just a simple treehouse that is only worth half of the price
the restaurant the staff
Dogs are very noisy at night. Fights... No wifi, the accommodation is far from the city by walk
Nice to sleep in the nature
If you are staying in a treehouse it's worth bearing in mind it is very much a treehouse, it's all open and so earplugs and an eye mask are good for light sleepers. The superior and deluxe treehouses are both very unique and more of what you'd imagine a room in a treehouse to be but they are considerably smaller than the suite and would be a little less comfortable for a family I think, splash out for the suite if you can. Both the superior and deluxe also have detached bathrooms in mud chalets at the bottom of the treehouses unlike the suites which have ensuites off the bedroom. Strong mosquito repellant is a must!
We absolutely loved our stay at Saraii Village, right from the start the manager Roy looked after us and he definitely made our stay that much better. Staying in a treehouse was fantastic, we were lucky enough to have a couple of nights in both the treehouse suite and a night in the superior treehouse. The suite is really something special with two floors and the ensuite up off the bedroom. The staff were all lovely and very attentive. It's definitely an experience worth splashing out for and something I think would be an amazing experience for children.
Great location with a difference
A tree house is noisy, but we liked it.
The tree house was awesome, plus the bathroom up in the trees, next to the bedroom. The manager is incredibly friendly and helpful like the rest of the staff. The food was brilliant, they were very flexible about time and child friendly dining. Definitely the highpoint of the trip.
We stayed 1 night in a brand new treehouse. Exciting for the kids to wake up with the sound of birds around the house. We saw many birds and squirrels around. While we were there there were no other guests around, felt a bit deserted, especially at night. But the manager told us the place was fully booked for the night after we left.
the dogs of the neighbours were very noisy the first night which kept us awake. The staff tried their very best to keep the dogs quite the second night which gave us a better rest
we stayed in the new treehouse which offers good comfort with nice bathroom and large living room and sleeping room the new restaurant looks stylish and offers good food. With the friendly staff (and new good manager) this renovated hotel is well worth a visit
I'm so sorry...but the jungle would have been better. Way over priced...food was bad other than rise....and we waited 2hours. I would recommend this place to no one....lost in middle of no where.they need to finish the place and then open.awful
barking street dogs during the night.
the way they built up the small resort and the individual tree houses, kindlyness of the staff, the assisitant manager (Damien) and the manager (Roy), back to earth
Friendly and ever helpful staff, and charming accommodation. If you want an eco resort this is the place to go, and as it settles into its landscape it will only get better!
Great little eco hideout. Very attentive staff, always ready to help. Excellent safari guide and sightings. Food was local and very flavourful. Glad we made this booking. Booked a mud chalet but was upgraded to a tree house. Everyone should experience sleeping in a tree house. Such fun!
Amazing eco location. Best food we have had so far in Sri Lanka. Will definitely be back. Safari was excellent. The most trilling experience you can ever have.
